Considering there was no mention of removing pet's resistances in patch notes this whole thing sounds like a bug. As some people pointed out, they were tinkering with the way crit resistance is calculated for pets so it is very likely that something got broken as a side effect.
Yes, Royaji, but we PTS testers found out this problem and told them every day for 4 weeks! They still did not care!
Maybe you should press on that angle and ask for a bug to be fixed instead of creating chaos and claiming that the sky is falling.

They specifically said that ZOS ignored the bug report.
The next step is to raise public awareness, which might force ZOS to act.

"Sorc pets are now useless"
"There is a bug with sorc pets that needs to be fixed"
Which one of these options is a honest description of a problem and which one is a "the sky is falling" clickbait?

im playing with a build editor and I'm pretty much at the cap with no bastion. 17157 health, 6926 harness magicka.
Might be better off dumping those 56 points into spell shield and light armor since shields use resistance now.

My magden has stopped using the bear in overland content as it's pretty much useless
Well, ultimates don't permanently take 4 ability slots...
Wardens don't have any non-pet builds. Sorc non-pet builds aren't a DPS loss at least. You have to change your playstyle, but at least you're still viable in all content.

Now I can't play what I like, Ty "patch".
Well, it's time for a stamina Dk while I'm waiting for F76.
I think it's good that people won't be able to use their pet as a crutch to get through VMA and as for things like dolmens and dungeon, you really should be able to complete that without pets. At least now you can use them to get your dps up in end game trials where they weren't wanted before.

There is a bug introduced with Update 20 on PC/Mac that is currently affecting player pet survivability. Player pets should have a greatly reduced damage reduction (85% less damage taken) from area-of-effect and damage-over-time abilities in non-group zones. Right now, that is not the case - this is not intended and it will be fixed in an upcoming incremental patch. Player pets will continue to be immune to all damage in Group Dungeons, Trials, and Group Arenas, as they are now.
Thank you!
Obviously ZOS is punishing players for complaining about the one second cast time on shield that they originally added so they changed it to a much worse solution of limiting shields to 50% of caster's max health resulting in pets shields being reduced by 70% and pets dying every 10 seconds.
I tested the one second cast time on shields on the PTS soloing one of the Murkmire WBs with my pet build and I barely notice the one second cast time and my pet only died once.
Apparently ZOS wants to take the fun out of pet builds and force players to quote: "make interesting choices" (whatever the hell that means).
I don't think "greatly reduced damage reduction" means what you think it means.ZOS_JessicaFolsom wrote: »Player pets should have a greatly reduced damage reduction

For some of us pets are more of a wheelchair than a crutch. I've got 50% use of my hands, sometimes almost none. Sorc pets gave me a fighting chance. No more. ESO is now just another game I used to play.
lol!!!!
Where are all those idiots now who were claiming the new pets are "working as intended" and that sorcs should "adapt or die"?

Double negative and all that ...

Oh, and our main defensive class skill is constantly under fire from other angry classes with torches and pitchfork.
I guess learn to adapt.

Derp Derp.So many ppl been carried so much by different things, Murkmire takes care of that, love it. L2fuckingplay. Its time, better late than never. LOL
