Sorc pets are now officially useless

I haven't seen a problem with pets today, and I have seen better survival from them. So, maybe it's that I haven't had all day to play, but they certainly seem to be less of a pain than they used to be.

Well, in trials and 4 men they have been made immortal (wrong way to go, a crutch, in my opinion) so of course you feel they are better.
I am talking everywhere else.
I don't even want to enter vMA to try, any random quest NPC can 3 shot them now.

Exactly, anyone commenting how pets are much better now hasn't tried vMA yet.
Or really anything other than trials and 4-man dungeons with a group.

And even in a 4-man dungeon, try running it solo. You notice how your pet doesn't draw aggro anymore?
You know, the Clannfear that was supposed to "tank" for you? That was its whole point of existence.

Please, let me know how great that went for you ...

There were changes to the way Pets draw aggro and take damage in group PvE content. So, basically a buff, though it's not 100%. There's still some glitches.

It's only a buff for what, 10% of the player base in 5% of the content. For the rest, it's a huge nerf ...

My pets never die in overland.. i dont use shields over land. Everything dies so freaking easy.

It has to be a bug. The patch notes mentioned pets inheriting crit resistance. That was the intent.

Clearly they’re inheriting every resistance now, which is obviously a bug.

Whether this QA fail of a bug gets fixed with any speed is up for debate

My Sorc is fine, all in all i find him Stronger with pet. Sure infused and Torugs is the new Meta now, but he manages still Solo Group Dungeons and MA

Just tested on warden. The bear is 100% bugged. It dies in exactly 3 melee hits to a world boss light attacks (losing about 35% health each hit). This is with 48k max magicka and all gold gear CP 160 gear.

It appears pets have 0 resistance right now.

Us stamblade dps's shade has stopped taunting a long time ago and we go down like 2 to 3 WB heavy hit unless we play our card right.
Oh, and our main defensive class skill is constantly under fire from other angry classes with torches and pitchfork.
I guess learn to adapt.

I tried to solo dolmens today as usual - I used 1 pet (scamp). It died in 5 seconds after engaging the last boss of the dolmen. Yes, I had a shield for it too. The boss was a xivkyn with a silence and a stun. It felt like it was nerfed into uselessness. Since I can't resummon it while kiting the boss, I had a completely useless button on my action bar...

It should be. IIRC it flags as a dungeon for Slayer and Aegis. If it's not for pets, that's really damn weird.

I figured my Clanfear just somehow drew aggro. But, for the most part enemies seemed to ignore my pets today.

One clanfear death. No Storm Attro deaths (no surprise.) I'm not sure if my Daedroth got waxed, but it's a proc so I don't keep a close eye on it.

That said, I was messing around with Hardened Ward (I don't usually use it), so that may have been a factor, I'm not sure.

Tried vMA on my pet sorc today, pets will not be an option at all for vMA now. They die every two second even if your spamming your tiny shield. If pets don't die in dunegons and trials now they should not die either in vMA. Such a stupid patch for mag sorc and magblades.

MA is an arena, hence Pets behave like for any other PvE content. Only trials and group dungeons have Pet immunity.

vMA is now a real pain if you previously ran a light armor magicka Pet Sorc that relied on shields to survive.

Yeah, I'm running bolt escape as my main survival tool... okay, why didn't my pets draw anyone's ire? This is weird.

Wardens lose a ton of DPS by switching to non-pet build (they already have the lowest DPS in the game with pets). I know it's only for vMA and world bosses, but it's still annoying having to swap.

So, make sure to shield AND heal your pets, even if your HP is max. If one of your pets is getting hits from the boss, there's like 99% chance his shield will wear off and will take hp damage. So far I tested BGs and overland content and so far so good. It's not easy mode anymore, but it's far from impossible and BGs are more or less the same.

And one more thing - frags got a buff and it shows. The frag speed seems slightly increased since PTS3 and it's not an issue in PVP. Also 20-24% reduction in snare and 15-18% reduction for speed for light armour also shows.

Yes let me get tunnel-vision fixated 24/7 to my pets, and heal them up when mino charges at a column.

Oh, wait, they instadie at full shield and health in 0.0001 seconds and I cannot do anything about it.


Yes, let me lose surroundings awareness and totally focus on my pets while melee Gryphon 1 shots both of them together and air Gryphon 2 shots me because I am mesmerized to my pets health.


Yes, let me reposition my pets at Graveld so they don't get insta-melted. Oh, wait, this is not a normal MMO, where I can actually command my pets in a proper way.

Came back to check on the changes. I was prepared for disappointment and true enough, ESO has gotten worse. My fav pet sorc is down the toilet.

Hmmm it seem fine for me in overland, dies more to worldbosses, but I was expecting that.

Mobs are fine as they melt before they can damage it - which makes me feel pet builds have become basically useless for brand new sorcs, especially folks that want to try out eso solo.

vMA: lol yeah... StamDK has been re-promoted to my main farmer here xD

I don't see why pets can't be unkillable in PvP also, so long as they are also untargetable. The damage they do without activating their special ability is negligible, and more than a reasonable sacrifice for having to double slot them. Using your pet as a literal meat shield seems dishonourable to me somehow... Why not just take the leap and make them ethereal all the time? /shrug.
