Six Reaper's Harvest crates are in October's rewards. I am pleased.

Even better, this is like relaxation month, you only need to get to 25 days to get all the crates. The rest is AP so missable if you don't care. Plus kitty!

Interesting that the crates are earlier and the big final reward is three days in a row of 2k alliance points lol... I'm not complaining, just sayin.... intriguing tactic

The ones marked with a star in the upper-right corner are the big rewards. The AP is just filler for the end of the month so that people who don't miss days don't have a long period of nothing, and the people who do miss days aren't missing out on anything important.

One last-place finish in a Battleground will yield more AP than those last three days combined.

Historically they've put the big ticket items at the end to entice people to log in every day. Since 6k AP is essentially useless, they're basically giving players an extra three days they don't have to bother logging in for. There's nothing to lose once they collect the crates. It's a weird tactic since the whole point of introducing this system was to incentivize people to log in as much as possible, hence why in June, July, and August the final day(s) were crown crates. In September the final day was 100k gold. This is the first month where the final days of the calendar are filler junk. I'm just saying it's strange. I wonder if they're doing some testing or something to see how it impacts log in numbers.

October being the festival of all things witchy yes maybe we can expect a few rewards along that theme?

Maybe even a mystery tricky treaty box or two of some kind?

Personally this one would like a month where every day rewarded fish of some kind but this one appreciates they may be a little pungent by the time we get to the end of the month having been in boxes for so long.

It bothers me that you're wanting free stuff when you have that acronym in your signature. Why? Because rallying against crown crates only hurts the company that has created the game you're wanting handouts in.

"Historically", the big ticket item is the last day of a short month. There's leeway of almost a week, usually. There's only been one--and only one--month (the previous month) where we had a long month and the big reward on the last day. And it's gotten a lot of criticism.

So this is a mix of the old "historical" approach, where the big ticket item is towards the end, but with a reasonable amount of leeway, but with the full 28 days, so that people who do finish a month early aren't sitting idle for a week.

And the "sitting idle" feeling is kind of a bummer when that giant full screen Crown Store popup comes up once you've finished your rewards for the month. I'm curious to see if getting filler stuff at the end kills that feeling or not this month. Should be interesting

Tip: If you create a new toon on a day when you can claim AP you can get Rapids right from the start which can make their life much better in levels 3-10 depending on what you are doing. The AP rewards will also be at the end of the month when the Witches Festival is starting (I assume it starts on the 18th) which gives double XP so it is a great time to start a new toon.

You misunderstand Khajiit yes. She was not referring to the crates as part of the monthly rewards. If you knew the history of this issue you would understand that the beef of this one with the crate is the payment exchanged for random items. If they want to give these or anything else away then so be it. As far as the store is concerned this one would like to see only transactions where you know exactly the item you pay for yes.

If you don't otherwise go into pvp, like I refuse to, the ap can be rather nice...put it all on the same character, and that actually serves as alliance xp, as well as a currency. I've gotten a couple of abilities doing that without having to go to cyrodiil at all.

When the wild hunt crates returned briefly in the Crown Store they were preceded by some free ones in the daily rewards. As the last few days of this daily reward month are the closest to Halloween perhaps something similar may happen which would explain the final few days of AP so they can put the Reapers Crates on the CS to coincide with the height of the festival season.

I think this is better than some previous months.

There's 28 days of rewards in total so those who can log in almost every day will always get something (and those who can log in every day will only have 2 empty days) and are less likely to complain that there's no point in logging in at the end of the month. But the 'big' rewards come earlier in the month so those who can't log in every day for various reasons are less likely to miss out.

I'd still prefer it if there were no rewards exclusive to this system, even if it was something like waiting 2 months and then they'll be in the crown store or on a vendor in-game, because it still means if someone can't log in this month they may miss something they really want. But it's still better than previous months.

Reaper's Harvest crate return suits the Halloween theme, but... I was really hoping for Storm Atronach crates this month :'(

Overall it's nice month. We had better one, with 10 crates, but September was horrible, with only 2 crates and lazy costume which dyes really bad.

I missed the fact that those are Reaper's Harvest crates and not Hollowjack. I was worrying about getting another spider pet and having to contact support again to have one removed from my account. But that's a lot better. Nothing in them I want and don't already have (I love the pirate costumes and the lynx pet but got them from the crown store when they were available) but nothing I couldn't stand having on my account either.

2 spider pets. I think he wanted the extra one removed.

Also, the cat looks way better ingame than in the promo pic.

I was just curious about how does that work: do they just remove the item from the collection as if you never got it (and thus it's possible to get it again) or is it removed from the list but still flagged as owned?
