any name that could mislead other players to believe You to be an employee of ZeniMax
You could rename him as Sheogoraths alter ego Gorath O'Shey!
Which is interesting, considering the filter doesn't always quite pick up on some of the more obvious Argonian names that are more inappropriate, lol
Class reps are just like our politicians. They promise mountains made of gold for us, but in the end, whenever they can they try to push their own agenda.
Yes, it would be very easy easy to add an list of names they don't want you to use into the user list and block it from use.I don't get the collective outrage. Something like this:
...is not only much more creative and interesting, it's (dare I say it) more immersive.
What I also don't get, though, is why such names are policed after the creation of a character, and not during. Couldn't they have blocked names of well established characters, at least of those appearing in ESO, from the very beginning? Their current approach, what with reacting years after a character is made, looks arbitrary and mean-spirited. ...And leads to indignant forum posts.

Does he have to rename his character after ZOS moves in and takes it? Argonian lore-based names are going to be generated in massive quantities by ZOS for Murkmire, and lore-friendly people will have a tendency to use the "bites-his-tail" type names. The potential for overlap exists.
P.S. - I have several characters that have some lore component to the name, so this is of personal interest. I tend to assemble character names from places like UESP and various Elder Scrolls name sites. ZOS could, potentially, step on one of my names.

Darn, so we can't make an Argonian for Murkmire and name it "Waddup-My-Naga"?

All this stuff smells to me like excessive P.C. from the company's side.
Yes, I get it, but it is said in the terms that company will decide at their own discretion in the end... I just don't get how someone could not like and report OPs Sheogorath name and how the company decided to play along with that whiner...dwemer_paleologist wrote: »well, the problem is that its NOT a problem unless someone does not like you and they report you and you loose your name simply cause they don't like you, your forced a name change as a punishment, but only YOU get that because someone reported you rather than the Game itself policing it.

Geez, it's as if Bethesda hired Justin Trudeau to respond to "offensive" name reports... *palmface*
If I can't name my characters after lore characters, then ZOS should stay away from my character names when creating NPCs too! I DEMAND THE IMMEDIATE REMOVAL OF MILORE GARIL! I had the only Milore in ESO before the Dark Brotherhood DLC
