It’s like before the US enacted laws about TV commercial volume, there were low budget cable channels with commercials that would scream, much louder than the program you were watching. I have no idea what they were advertising, because all of my focus was on changing the channel ASAP. Eventually I started avoiding those channels completely, solely because of the aggressive ad tactics.
And my life was just fine when I stopped watching SVU reruns, just as I imaging my life will be fine without ESO, which will be th result if they don’t dial back the in game marketing.4 -

...I get what I need from the launcher. I don't need to see another pop-up every time I log. They need a 24 hour cool down on the splash ad. Have it show when you first login. Then you don't see it for another day.1 -

now ill close it without even looking. I actully installed a mod that blocks the pop-up entirely. Sure I might miss something but thats way better than the constant annoyance.

Whomever thought of this new idea shot themselves in the foot.
This is also a good answer:...because of the urge to close that big repetitive invasive crap.

I was using NTY to block the add, and simply collect my login rewards when I logout (since trying to open the Announcements thing w/ NTY blocking the ad automatically closes it on you). Now that NTY causes you to get a notification flood of thousands within moments, though, I just immediately Alt out of the ad the second I'm in game. nudel✭✭✭✭✭I feel less informedDue to the frequency with which the new one shows up (literally every login) and the enormous size, I close it as soon as possible without looking at it. It's a nuisance.
Previously the ad would only appear when there was something new on offer or something newly available at a discount. And it would only appear the once! So, I'd occasionally click on it or at least look at the store for new things.
The new ad is the equivalent to a car alarm... The ZOS that cried wolf is now merely very annoying white noise that I avoid at all costs.Edited by nudel on June 16, 2018 6:34AM1 -

Now, I just shut it down and get my reward from the notifications or logout.
More than once, I would've forgotten that there is a login reward to be claimed if not for the notification in my inbox.
I assume the ad is still trying to sell me Summerset which I already have. I'm not sure. As a means to sell me stuff, this has been a disaster.0 -
