What to do if you cant Light Attack Weave / Light Attack animation cancel

You can play this game without weaving, but it does help a lot.

It might would make sense to add an auto attack option to turn on for players who can't manage it for what ever reason.

EXCEPT for me, I find that ability -> LA is what works for bows. It's hard to LA cancel with endless hail because of the cast time. I weave "backwards" on the bow bar and from what I've seen the pros do too.

I'll try again on the upload...

I would imagine you can set up keyboard macros.

My best guess is that OP isn't doing it properly. It's LA > ability, not ability > LA, or they're lagging hard.

Only 85k, 90-92 is pretty easily doable on 1-pet magsorc atm but I was using accel and matriarch and breton and filming that was f***ing distracting. Using F for LA key, tab barswap, 1-5 for skills, I do my entire damage rotation and movement with one hand and only use my right hand for panning around. Personally I think it is a lot easier than using two hands and LMB for weaving, the 1-2 1-2 1-2/LA-skill rhythm feels a lot smoother. And obviously no macros/addons... (nobody does this).

Proof of concept for OP and others that don't like mouse LA, I've showed this to a few others and they liked doing it this way... others don't. But thought it was interesting anyways, I've always played like this on all DPS specs.

Don't worry about weaving. You can do plenty of content without it. And pvp doesn't require it.

It is the worst part of this game and ridiculed everywhere I go outside of ESO. The devs really have no idea how much it is mocked.

It would depend on the exact mouse, but assuming a mouse with at least 7 buttons, Right and Left click plus 5 extra you could create a separate macro for each key to fire light attack + ability. So each button would correspond to a different ability.

Mocked... in my experience that is what people who don't understand it or who can't do it (don't want to put effort in) do

I've spent more time in game teaching others or helping others get to grips with it than it took me to pick it up -- oddly most people I met who struggled started off critical about it, and after learning became staunch defenders of it -- lol -- guess that's any ability in a nut shell.

While what other people already said, practice makes perfect. But i wouldnt practice it on a dummy too much, just keep it in mind while adventuring/dungeoning and try your best to weave, with time, u will get it (harder on stamina cause no fire balls flying around)

Anim canceling is cancer in pvp and pve. It will do good in both gamemodes to people that are competitive or casual.

I don't know about the OP but for me, the problem is I intensely dislike pets in all games. I love just the plain non-pet magicka sorcerer build(s). I have 2 of every class now and that one specific class is the one that feels the most fun for me and keeps me invested BUT I can't do the weave thing and I am a heavy mouse user. I'm in my late 20s and started on Razer/Corsair mice as a kid and to date, and not much of a keyboard user. My main problem is I just don't understand the pacing or how to cancel right maybe. I've been practicing for a long long long time. I've gone through all the basic tips, the advanced and watched every video on it, I just can't seem to do it. I also have not done trials or obtained the monster helm since I just can't do the damage. I've tried in the past. I kind of forgot most of the mechanics at this point when I had learned them. ESO can very depressing to play for me but there are times I solo alone I'm happy but it's boring and I pay the year sub and buy everything and yet the amount of hate (in a game of all placed) I've experienced in the content I need to do to get stuff has been bad. It's demoralizing and then I go back to trying the weave cancel junk and I have spent so much time on it over the span of 3 years. I've spent months just practicing that and ignoring all else. Even with the pets build I didn't achieve anything better w/ dps than any other setup, I just prefer a non-pets playstyle. The crazy thing is I am good at battlegrounds but I dislike pvp in this game.

I really don't get people in this game that keep saying that somehow doing animation cancelling is a skill or makes you a better "player"?

it is literally *** in every other game I have played outside of ESO. it says something about the design of the game when players have to actually resort to using macros or know how to do stupid key tab+mouse click combinations in specific succession?

A game should be built around the ability of the players to use the skillsets that exists IN THE GAME and how well they use combination of those skillz IN THE GAME, now how *** well you fast click or do a mouse *** combination.

Anyone telling you to "learn to play" regarding this or that this is some kind of skill is as stupid as a person can get and only has playes THIS game to have any real experience outside of it.

Its not P2W in the american version bro, get your fact correct. As I said it is not for everyone but there is no question which game has the better combat system. No question at all. But of course it lacks in other areas but based on purely the combat system, a game like TERA proves that stupid ideas like mashing keyboard keys and click mouses fast is NOT the way to build a combat system for your playerbase.

When you are doing a light attack, and press a Skill, it cancels the animation, when you are doing a skill and press light attack, ESO queues the light attack for 0.5 seconds, You literally have 0.5 error margin to LA weave with perfect timming...

So just do LA + Skill .... LA + Skill .... LA + Skill ......

Instead of: Skill + LA .... Skill + LA .... Skill + LA ....

Just taking a short glance through that thread and it becomes immediately apparent that vast majority of people complaining about ESO's combat are either scrubs who refuse to learn how to press two different buttons in sequence or people who have clearly never played ESO and are just jumping the hate wagon.

You do realize you can rebind your controls, right?

I use Q, E, C, X, Z, R for my skills. Tab for consumable and left Alt for synergy. Dodge roll and weapon swap bound to back/forward buttons on mouse.

Interesting, I rebind my keys to this this though = 1st and 2nd ability to my mouse two side buttons. My ultimate to the third side button. My 3rd to Z, 4th to X, 5th to C. I swap wep with F, R for my synergy. It works better since I don't have to reach out so much for the buttons.

Oh and my 3 button I use for interacting with players. Seems good.

Also to op, have you put your ground target abilities to on? Not in auto. It should be in settings. The problem with rebind though, you need so much time setting it up when you start a new char though.

Lol, I stand corrected I guess. Seems like it would be more of a hassle to macro it, and I feel like it would destroy the rhythm of gameplay which honestly matters a lot.

Anyways, you're right with the edited quote. In the endgame PvE community and (I'm assuming on this one) endgame PvP community, you would get shamed pretty hard if you said you were macroing your weaves. Anyone that lazy probably isn't good in other aspects of gameplay either and is seriously unlikely to be either a good PvPer or PvEer. tldr... I don't think people who parse high in raids or kill people in PvP are ever macroing.
