I am just getting more and more disillusioned about this game, it is so blatant that the primary focus of Zo$ is the cash-cow crown store and anything that remotely dents profits will be dashed down, the Alinor furniture sets coming soon are testament to this, it’s getting harder and harder to look beyond this

If we continue to see any in game gold making opportunities nerfed, then we will know what happened. And that ZOS seems to want the only way to make gold anymore to be crown store gifts which is essentially sanctioned gold selling. Gold selling is bad for a game but I guess ZOS doesn't care as long as they are getting a cut. Disgusting.

Their latest "expansion" is the most bugged pos ive seen in a LONG time with gaming. There are even other AAA developers would be scrambling to fix anything released in this state, but what are they doing? Moving along with their next mess we will have to suffer thru and removing fun things so they can sell us furniture packs

All you get is lockpicks, style materials and voidsteel armour/weapons. Its honestly not that great. Found some furnishing recipes but still, not great.

Yep, that was also my thought when I read how it was 'sanctified' that trading ingame items for ingame items is allowed. As long as the money lands in ZOS' pockets it's all fine and good.

My last MMO Rift did this. At the start of their most recent expac, they changed the old-school raids so that soloing them no longer awarded the total raid's worth of platinum to that person. You went from getting ~500 platinum (currency) in an hour to less than 100.

They also introduced gigantic platinum sinks in the form of new gear that required just straight platinum to upgrade. It was tens of thousands of platinum to get fully upgraded gear on one character, and it was not account wide. It's worth mentioning that Rift has real money trading as well, because there is gifting and you can buy month subscription tokens and sell them to players for platinum.

It was seen as an extremely predatory practice because solo raids were the effective way to generate a lot of platinum without dozens of hours of tedious farming in that game. Rift began to really die about halfway into Nightmare tide, the previous expansion, but many of the remaining dedicated players (myself included) left because we could no longer take the obvious nudging towards the cash shop.

Between this and the motif fragment debacle in Cloudrest, this all feels very, very familiar....

ESO is FAR from that, the things they sell are for the most part vanity items. They don't make it so the only way you can have GREAT end game builds is via spending crowns. You could argue that good sets are behind DLC, but come on.. there is tons of content in the base game and end game builds always vary between a threshold of 2-6k dps which when your in the 35k+ range isn't game breaking.

You can transmute in the base game so you can change any gear item without having to rely completely on RNG, just join a guild that invested in getting the crafting station. 100 cap sucks but is fine, there has to be some incentive to support their game by paying money. Even the new sets like relequen are situational outputting strong single target dmg, but it's only good against enemies that stay around long enough for a light attack to hit and it's a dps loss in comparison to sets that buff all dmg without requiring the build up.

Sure they seem to be a bit cash shop focused but you realize they have different teams developing the game, do you really think the designers for combat are deciding what mount you ride. The answer is no. ZOS is just slow over all and it probably has to do with their dated game engine. Their communication is still weak but it's getting there. They've made good strides.

If I didn't do the wardrobe search I would have found exactly zero Alinor recipes. I have done the entire Summerset questline and psijic quest line with two toons and found no recipes looting through the quest locations or delves. I have found every Alinor recipe I have in that wardrobe room and I can furnish my townhouse in style now.

Players were having fun with actually being able to collect recipes from TV - the nerf to the number of loot boxes is a disrespectful response.

well.. they are fixing that at least. starting tomorrow, Culanda is guaranteed from dailies and green/blue recipes only require one, rather then 2 (purples still need 2)

small favors... or something like that... I was hoping to farm up the flowers and the fireplace, before nerf hit... no such luck

You can essentially thank the Culandas for that. Here is the in-depth explanation.
Since we are getting no significant changes (only two, insignificant ones) to the Culanda requirement with this update, the prices will never change from what they are currently.

I assume this was done to sell you the 4 Alinor furnishing packs that we saw on the PTS, and which will most likely be sold in the store any time soon. These consist of 99 % craftable Alinor furniture, and they would not have been able to sell these through the store if people could just buy them at guild traders.

Hleran Ancestral Tomb - Vvardfell near Ald'Ruhn Wayshrine

Doing the quest "Ancestral Ties" will show you exactly where the tomb is. Completing the part of the quest where you go into the tomb will turn all the hostile spirits neutral so you can run through it easily (you dont need to finish the quest although it will give you access to ashlander dailies)
