I created a template character and got 50 in all skill lines.

No problem with certification (as I was already "experienced jewel crafter")
Could not find any furnishing plans (or did not appear at the jewellery station tab)
Did a crafting writ with every jewellery skills maxed. It was only a big material sink as the reward was very poor (no survey, no writ, a crap ring (iirc) and only one unity of material).

Didn't see any node despite having keen eye level 3 (only in jewel crafting).

Seeing this, nodes and daily writs reward really need to be improved.

I only messed with it for a little bit, but my first response was, this is going to be the grind to grind all grinds...

I decon'd a half a dozen gold CP160 pieces of jewelry, and my current jewelry crafting level is at 3. I got 2/10ths of a gold mat for my troubles. At this rate, I will be able to make gold CP 160 jewelry by chapter 3.

Do you have any other general feedback?

I searched for ressource nodes in glenumbra (was looking for wax, resin, heartwood etc) for about an hour. I found numerous nodes of all varieties but only one (1!) node giving material linked to jewelery crafting.

RNG either hates me or nodes are not available in satisfying quantities. I guess its the later. ;)

Seam nodes and ore nodes share their spawn locations. You need to farm ore and hope that the next time a node pops up at that same location it's a seam and not ore again.

It's really annoying and should be changed. Seams need to have their own spawn points.

    Both points suck.

Is it too much to ask to have a developer just randomly high speed run around placing node markers with a quick spam macro?
(Edit: I know that's not how it works, but it could and should. Either way, we need separate nodes.)

This is really going to suck.

This is the same crap that makes alchemy materials completely random and difficult. I don't like that either. Sure they have a logical pattern of certain things at water locations so not completely random, but still sucks.

The cost for jewelry upgrade seems to be very higher. This seems a great obstacle to complete Master Writs (Legendary) and way too much grind!

Upgrade to legendary Jewelry requires : 8 Chromium Plating, 1 Chromium Plating = Refine 10 Chromium Grains

Deconstructing Legendary Jewelry = 1 Chromium Grain

Refining Raw Material have chance to give 1 Chromium Grain

As people have said, no seams to get mats for jewelry crafting. I even went to the Wrothgar farming loop and none there. And to top that off, no jewelry found in chests in either Summerset or Wrothgar. An exercise in frustration.

Yes, its nice to have a new komplex system installed and everything, but I agree its going to take alot till the market for mats is at a bearable level. Its alot of resources to collect and refine for very little grain (refining of a 200 stack grains yielded 1 plating in my one-time test -> and yes RNG may just hate me I know).

Getting 80 Chromium Grain is like getting 80 Tempering Alloy.

Why Legendary Jewelery Upgrade cost is 10 times higher than others?

You need to deconstruct 80 Gold Jewellery to get mats for upgrading one jewelery item.

They don't actually want us to use this system or play with multiple sets and theorycraft it seems.
They just want to support the bot farmers we pay real money to.

If this were a base game addition, I could understand the grind. Glass motif was 10x the grind as Xivkyn motif when Imperial City came out because Glass was obtainable in base game and Xivkyn required purchase of Imperial City DLC. You want to incentivize players to purchase DLC. We understand. There are tons of players who bought the game 3 years ago and have not paid you a penny since that initial purchase. You cannot support the game without selling ESO+, DLC, Chapters, etc.

But Chapters are locked behind a cash paywall and Jewelry Crafting is locked behind a Chapter. The rarity and grindiness of this crafting profession is ridiculous for something we have to buy. You are going to push people to not even bother to buy Summerset if the major and long-requested selling point (Jewelry Crafting) is a near-impossible grindfest. We are not saying everyone should be level 50 with 1000 gold upgrade bars on the first day of release. But there needs to be a middle ground where people feel they can actually obtain materials and progress without it being frustrating and rage-inducing.

I might even understand the grind if Jewelry Crafting were super powerful. But it is not. It seems quite balanced. A purple ring has 124 weapon/spell damage as a set bonus. A gold ring has 129 weapon/spell damage set bonus. That is a lot of grinding for such minor buffs. A legendary spell/weapon damage glyph is 174. With 60% Infused, it will be 278. But you'll have to give up, what, 870 max magicka/stamina by changing from Arcane/Robust to Infused? 870 max stat is a little less powerful than 104 max weapon/spell damage, but between the buffs to max stats from CP and War Horn and various passives, it's probably a wash.

Jewelry Crafting is adding variety and flavor, but I don't see it adding much power. It does not appear to be Pay To Win. Making it such an insane grindfest makes no sense. It is just going to leave a sour taste in the mouth of paying customers. I'd expect this from a F2P mobile game. Not ESO and especially not a Chapter.

I did a couple of laps at some of my old farming locations Craglorn and Wrothgar and I can say for a fact that they respawn at random. Some that were Blacksmith nodes respawned as jewelry nodes and vice versa.

Has anyone actually got enough mats yet to refine and create a higher level item. does it take multiples to increase the chances of an upgrade or do you just need a single mat? If you need multiples then I don't like the idea of having to refine upgrade mats as well. 80 gold mats to give a 100% chance to make a new one sounds a bit high to me

I found enough to seams to refine and get 51 pewter ounces and 32 platinum ounces and out of that I got 2 greens and a blue and you need ten of each to get one usable mat.

Accessory items in pre-existing storage containers like the champion cache do not have the “This item cannot be deconstructed.” branding. And can be deconstructed; allowing players to horde such caches and power level jewelry crafting while stockpiling materials.

Yes I got one Seam with a Potent Nirncrux

and so like I feared, the equivalent of 10 times the material to do upgrades compared to the other craft lines.

edit: on the bright side, looks like the days of us farmers getting 20 to 50k or more for a stack of mats is coming back ;)

This is the official feedback thread for Jewelry Crafting. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
    • Which sets are you looking forward to crafting once this system goes live?

The popular ones : Hunding, Julianos, Acuity, Night Mother's Gaze, Seducer, etc.
    • Were you able to successfully research the new traits? Could you easily find the source?

No because I used a full-blown template who already knew everything.
    • Which was your favorite trait, and why?

Not sure yet what the most efficient will be for group content, but I think triune will be nice for solo play.
    • Did you understand how to obtain the raw materials for Jewelry Crafting?

Yes but nodes are too rare ! and the trait stones have so many different sources that it will take a while to memorize. Not a criticism though, variety in systems is welcome.
    • Were you able to find the Survey Report locations?

Didn't get any survey report :-(
    • Were you able to get certified?

Yes, the NPC is very easy to find.

    • Were you able to successfully attune a Crafting Station to a Jewelry Crafting Station?

Yes, the only problem being that it works if you're close to any type of set station... except the jewelry one !
    • Did you craft any new furnishings with Jewelry Crafting?

Nope. Found a recipe but not the required crafting mats ("ochre" and "culanda lacquer")

    • Did you try Transmutation with Jewelry Crafting?

      Nope.
    • Did you get any Writs in Jewelry Crafting?

Yes. A 10-voucher one. Felt like far to small a reward considering the mats involved, especially the upgrading mats.
    • Do you have any other general feedback?

Nice system ! Similar enough to other crafting skill lines - but also a bit different. The stations look very nice ! And as to the overall availability/grind/drop rate issues... wait and see. There's definitely not enough nodes in the open world as it looks now, though ...

Were you able to verify the Decon drop rate with max points into refining (or whatever its called). At low level, I only got 2 grains from 6 pieces of gold jewelry. Just wondering if there is a guaranteed drop if the skills are maxed out or if its closer to what live is for other types of gear which is about 50/50 in my experience.

If its the later, a max level crafter would have to decon 160 pieces of gold jewelry (80 Vet HM trial runs) to upgrade one piece of jewelry to max. Even if its guaranteed, the number is still WAY to high.

This also begs the question, should we hoard our gold jewelry until we have our crafting leveled? If we have to rely on lesser jewelry to level, it will take even longer to get there.

IMO, they should remove this 1/10th nonsense. It serves no purpose other than to increase the grind.

Also, The pulverized trait material (10 to make a trait stone) and The Ochre come straight from nodes but either RNG is stuck or they are zone dependent as I got all Ochre from Wrothgar and Glenumbra and I only got Pulverized Dawn-Prism in Summerset.

I deconstructed 2 rings and got 2 chromium grains. I have skill points on Jewelry deconstruction passive all levels.

I will do further testing, may deconstruct 20 items to check grains rate.

Jewelry upgrade is too much of grind and if it goes live as currently on PTS then everyone is going to hate it.
