Account wide achievements seriously....

Collecting achievements are mostly for veteran players whos been playing for a while.
We are getting sick of locked into 1 toon when we have 8 just because we are collecting achievements.

I would like to be able to play differently but at the same time keep up with the achievements which we vets collect.

If anything it adds more unnecessary grind to the game for example I don't have a lot of skill points on my Mag DK but my Stam has almost all since it's my main; It would be nice to get all my skill points on my Mag DK too.

There are a lot of achievements that are specific to characters - anything combat related, for one. You don't fight the same on different characters so it wouldn't make sense for characters to share those achievements without earning them.

Oh, hey, look, a dead horse... let's beat it for a bit, shall we?
...that at least is what I imagine people who make yet another "gimme" post about achievements think like... especially when it pops up a mere day after the last topic!

Once again - achievements are completely optional.
Its your own choice if you -want- to spend the effort chasing them, or not.
Both on your main, and on your alts.

But the only thing that really matters from them is the dye unlocks, and those are already account wide. So you really don't need to pay attention to your achievements on your alts - except if you like to check on what you have done or not yet done on those characters.
Which is the main use I have for the achievment journal - see what skyshards I missed, or which craftings tyles this or that character still has to learn, etc.

Yeah, most will feel disinclined to go through the effort more then once.
    So?
If it is important enough to them, they will make the effort.
If the effort seems too much for them, they will have to do without.

For now anyhow, though there is always those times when you might sit and look at ESO, thinking "...I feel bored..." and then you could go achievement hunting on your alts to have a purpose to your gaming, something to strive for...
...instead of whining about wanting everything account wide, and then leaving ESO for the next game after a single playthrough. Which we know is what would happen in all too many cases.

ESO already has way more account wide stuff then any other MMO I ever played, with shared bank, mail, guilds, dyes and the whole friggin champion system!
And I really cannot help but consider it as somewhat reeking of an entitlement-addled brain to ask for yet more...
Especially since newbies fresh out of coldharbour with high-end titles would seem pretty silly, and a slap in the face to those who are still working on getting there...

Of course it is optional. Playing ESO is optional.

This is merely a request to make end game players that collect achievements have more room to play their alt and try different play style.

It encourage people to play different class and different role.

    Its a good thing.

I find it okay the way it is. Dye, skins, costumes, polymorphs, etc are already account-wide. Titles should remain character-bound, imho.

The only kind of achievements I'd want account-wide are the ones that take ridiculously long to get, like the I Like Ma'iq one, or the fishing achievement. Pretty much 99% of the rest I'm fine with not being account-wide. If everything was account-wide, then there'd be no more achievements to strive for after a while.

How is it odd ? It shows they've done it.
This only affect and help players who collect achievements to do it on different class and roles besides their main.

The amount of achievement in this game is never ending so why lock us down to just our main ? (If you collect achievement that is) If not then this does not concern you.

No, we don't all want this.

I like to have different achievements on different characters.

You don't speak for everyone. There is no "we".

(And I have 15 characters on 1 account and 12 on another, I do NOT want account wide achievements though)

I’m all for account wide achievements where that makes sense, some are personal to each character’s progress. But then I’m in the minority I would have MUCH more account wide things: wayshines, skyshards, Mount training, all locations uncovered should be seen by all characters etc.It would make using an Alt a much more fun experience for me.

On the other hard, playing devils advocate here.

Making achievements toon specific forces you to actually play other classes in order to get the achievements. So in a way it IS a way to encourage playing different class and role.

Achievements help me track what I've done with each character, so, no thanks. They actually help my characters feel more individual. If I want the achievement on another character, more incentive to log in and play that character instead of leaving them to moulder in the character select screen.

Accountwide achievements/skyshards/lorebooks? No. Play the game, earn your achievements, and stop presuming to speak for me.

What an odd thing to assert.

I see both sides of this debate. I suppose the best solution would be to have this as an option. You could choose to either have achievements account wide or not.

I prefer not as I like to "grow" each character and am not one who must gobble content. MMOs are meant to and should provide, literally, years' worth of content. To me having account wide achievements would cut out a lot of my journey.

It has entirely nothing to do with people playing a different class/role.

Just because you can clear (enter content here) on your templar healer, does not automatically mean you can clear same content on your NB DPS or your Warden tank. The good stuff, skins, dyes, costumes, are already account wide once you unlock them.

What (missing) achievement is the one that bothers you so?

    Actually, it's both. See above.

Clearance on one does not automatically guarantee clearance on the other, and different roles/classes play very differently, requiring different levels of mastery.

Most achievements can and will be gained by simply playing the game as intended.

Why should a character that grinded to 50 in Skyreach get the quest achievements for the alliance zones or having found all skyshards in a zone? If you want an achievement on a character, then work for it.
