Everyone knows that jumping makes it harder to get a head shot. Too bad they don't realize there's no such thing as a head shot in ESO.

I jump a lot but it's because I play with a controller and when I loot bodies by mashing the 'A' button it often makes me do a jump when everything has been looted

It would be nice to see a stamina cost added to jumping due to the way it effects PVP melee combat. I refuse to play any melee classes in PVP due to jump-casting.

They can be fun in PVE, but that's about it for me. lol

    Why stamina?

I say make it magicka costs or health, why must always all movement cost stamina?

MAGICKA is the word here, cauze most magicka users jump!

Heck yeah! Add a stam cost to jumping! Also add a stam cost to walking! And, while we're at it, add a stam cost to slow rp walk, highest of them all! Also add a stam cost to riding a horse and swimming...am I forgetting anything? Oh, and let's add a 100% stam cost to emotes too, because reasons.

And, while we're on whole immersion topic, why do our characters stay forever young? Let's make them age and die after a week of playing!

I can't believe the amount of people saying jumping people are stupid and annoying and need to have jumping disabled/never invited to guilds etc...what? Please tell me you guys are kidding...you are kidding, right?

To OP, please do not convince your friend to play ESO. He won't like it, and we won't like him.

Problem is pebbles aren't part of the navmesh, they have their own mesh which has it's own collision detection. Navmesh is just terrain, anything places on the terrain is separate from navmesh. #TheMoreYouKnow
    @lagrue
It doesn't have to be that way. I have worked on game engines that were perfectly capable of generating a combined navmesh from both terrain and placed (static) objects.

There's no inherent limitation to a navmesh that says it has to be terrain only ...
    #TheMoreYouKnow

When an engine generates that "combined navmesh" as you call it, its not actually adding the rocks to navmesh, it's building the mesh around the rocks. The rock still has its own mesh. Unity and Creation Kit both work this way... this game is made with Havok so I can assure you almost 100% the issue is not the terrain meshes... it's the rocks. Considering all other Bethesda games use Havok, it's really not hard to draw the lines here.

It's likely what Zos did was cast the terrain mesh and then add the objects afterwards, so the mesh is not build around the objects. There is two solutions, recast the entire terrain mesh to create what you call a "combined navmesh" or simply fix the rock's mesh so it doesn't stop movement. One solution is way easier and more practical than the other.

If we could only be more considerate of everyone's feelings I think ESO would be a much better world. I have to admit that the jumping and consistent firing of skills into an area that I for one am trying to concentrate on would make my experience more pleasant. The constant mount jumping, toon jumping, etc interferes with my overall experience in world and is very distracting. Perhaps a fidget spinner would be more appropriate for the times that you have all that pent up energy and all you can do in game is.....wait. That being said....I will continue to try and ignore you, deal with it as you will have to deal with me, standing there minding my own business and being respectful to others around me. Enjoy your game!!

Actually, with the way the pebble mechanics are in this game it's scientifically proven that you will always get to your destination FASTER by JUMPING, therefore missing 2/3 of the slow pebbles.

    Who's an idiot now?

I had a conversation lately with one of my friends, he is a big fan of ES, but he hate ESO because its a MMO
when i asked him directly - why you wont try it? ESO has greate solo-player content too, very detailed quests, and such
    he told:

    - I wont see this jumping idiots(other players) around me

and its not the only one opinion i heard, i know other guys that thinking the same way about MMO games
I think its a big mistake and misunderstanding, but all my argumets havent any positive effects

what do you think about this, how to convince such ppl?

I have never noticed people jumping around me before, but then again I'm never idle so focused on doing whatever that needs to be doing (limited time, no time to idle!)

It can be annoying.... especially if they proceed to jump in front or on top of you obstructing your view and making it difficult to block attacks.

That big green alien that regularly pops up (I'm not sure what it is... possibly a monster set) can be pretty annoying too in this regard. It likes to show up right in my face at the worst possible times, usually getting me nailed by a heavy attack.

He's spending too much time in town in the games he plays. Nobody jumps around when they're fighting for their virtual lives/loot.

    Edit:
There is something to be said for how twitchy combat in these games makes players such that when they're not in combat they still feel they need to keep up the same level of activity.
Isn't ADHD actually "attention deficit hyperactivity disorder"? Maybe we just have "hyperactivity disorder" since our lives are all about working as fast and hard as we can and having limited play time so we have to do the same in our games. Everything seems to be made to make us twitchy and unable to sit still because focusing, instead of multitasking, is considered bad and a waste of time.

They're more likely to do so because games when we were younger didn't allow jumping. It's a new and fun thing for us to be able to defy gravity even a little bit.
