On PS4-NA, the cool/edgy crowd always hung out at the vampire shrine. And would size newbies up there. If you went there seeking a bite, you’d get charged as high as 25k for a bite. And people would try to steal other people’s bites, resulting in kinda having to bite people in a way that no one could intervene. Lol.

Well...that's new to me. Guess it's a question of perspective. ;)

Agreed. [Before] I remember Mrs. Ghul and I waiting for at least 2 or 3 more people to act as meat shields for us. I also remember, when those meat shields served their purpose, we would take turns trying to survive as the other one was reviving themselves so that the boss wouldn't reset. [Now ].....I can solo them easily.

I remember when WBs actually required groups. Now, I solo WBs all the time, and I'm not the only one. I've done it on CP and non-CP toons. That's not to say they're easy in general. I can only do it because I'm experienced in the game.

I remember that one mission that everyone got stuck on because you had to wait until the dude came up the stairs and wait for him to Finnish talking before you could kill him. There were so many people in that room that most of us just had a naked party in the down stairs room until Zos fixed it a couple weeks later.

Filling soul gems using target dummies in Cyrodiil :D

LOL! That was the way to do it, though. I used to see so many people doing that, and would wonder at first what they were doing. Until I was put on to the secret, and saw just how incredibly fast you could fill soul gems. Damn shame ZOS removes that. :D

I do remember wasps being the bane of my existence when cautiously venturing in Craglorn on my own. They were so hard to kill, and my body would be often found lifeless at a voidbloom node next to a wasp nest. Even though I have no trouble killing them now, I still give them a wide berth when adventuring due to these traumatic experiences

I remember when Bloodfiends started appearing on PC NA, people would start gathering in very specific spots and waiting for HOURS at night for a few vampire NPCs to spawn to be bitten. I traveled from Stonefalls to the Rift as a level 25 (before level scaling was a thing ofc, so you had lvl 40-45 NPCs one-shotting you on the way).

So many people would theorize how or when Bloodfiends appear.. They wondered if it had to do with the alignment of the moons or if it was only on certain moon phases. Or if it was at a specific in-game time or a time at midnight. Some thought that Bloodfiends from dolmens would have a 1% chance to give you Vampirism. Other said that Bloodfiends were a myth, and that zone chat was getting trolled massively, or that only devs were giving out bites.

There were people selling bites for 50k+ (which was outrageous 1 week after launch) and often people were scammed or had bites stolen from trolls. There was even a vampire hunter guild that sought to eradicate every last Bloodfiend, and it actually worked for a while, keeping prices high until guilds started organizing free bites.

Eventually I got my first bite from a Bloodfiend from a guy who was whispering information out to trusted people. Not a few seconds after I got a bite, a bunch of people showed up to kill them. :(

Still, amazing times. Truly a unique event in this game's history.

See, this is beautiful to me. It’s truly stunning how amazing this game’s community was at a time. Even during its moments of predatory practices, and all of its downsides. I miss this about ESO. I miss the theorycrafting about the things non-build related, and the little bits and pieces of secretive events such as bloodfiend and werewolf spawnings. Such great times.

Do you remember when the world bosses would snap you up, if you weren’t at a certain level (Stonefalls saint and Greenshade lightning atronach come to mind)

Mostly when I had bad builds though :D I thought that 5 whitestrakes + 3 death wind + random health recovery jewelry and split attributes = good idea...
With all attributes in magicka, 5 seducer + 3 magnus + random trash jewelry with spell damage = good enough for world bosses (I didn't use shields back then):

    Zz9LhXM.jpg

I think enemy should have been 10 levels and higher than my level in order for me to get "Miss!" for most of my attacks, so for that fight I was lucky to be just 9 levels lower
Do you remember when you wouldn’t dare venture alone in Craglorn, out of fear of the mages and wasps?

Those horrible memories made me truly appreciate One Tamriel scaling changes and Craglorn's rework to be more solo friendly <3 Too bad that I don't have screenshots with old version of one boss with storm atronach pet in upper Craglorn - few people came, tried to kill that boss, all died many times, all went away - no quest completion for us... :D This was awful, so good that it's only in memories now.

I remember when I'd venture two or three areas above my level and creep around. I am still a little scared walking around The Rift & Reaper’s March, for no good reason.

As for old school Doshia & Doppleganger Lyris - the cool thing is you were stuck for like a week until you figured it out. They were in your critical path for the game.

You’re not alone in being cautious where you wander. I’m still very much paranoid at times when I’m in Craglorn, and happen to stumble across those scattered groups of mages. Even though I know that I can deal with them with the greatest of ease. I’m always still a tad bit uncertain in the back of mind. Lol.

See ZOS, why can’t we have moments like these anymore? Moments where trash mobs even made us uncertain of the outcome in the overland skirmishes? Whether it was: Mudcrabs, mages, wasps, multiple adds, etc. There was a sense of caution to be taken. Now, it’s sll just destroy things in a few skills or attacks. :(

Do you remember Martial Knowledge was the set to be farmed, as well as Nirncrux being the go-to trait for damn near everything...? Or even better. When Daedric and Ancient Elf motifs were 80k to 100k each. And selling Daedra Hearts was as profitable as selling Dreugh Wax and all that jazz.

I remember when nirn was so bugged, the moment the fixed it, everyone jumped ship to impen/sharpened for PvP.

I sadly remember the full towns, the 30k+ vamp bites/vamp bites mafia, the troll in Daggerfall kicking my butt, the bright sun of stros mkai, and the bleak zombies of Daggerfall.

This game at launch was very special.
