    I remember all my life
Raining down as cold as ice
A shadow of a man A face through a window
    Crying in the night
    The night goes into
    Morning, just another day
Happy people pass my way Looking in their eyes
    I see a memory I never realized ...

Oh wait, no. Wrong memory probably.

HAHAHA this reminds me of an instance where i was in the Rift on an alt (I still dislike this zone) and had sort of teamed up with an argonian player. We were both lvl 10/11 something like that. Those dang Trolls were chasing us and a mammoth and Im pretty sure a troll and we were hauling ass trying to get out of there with our plants. I still laugh cry when I think about it...

Hahahaha lols. Need plants for a profession or quest? Sure no problem, Im just going to have to sneak past some trolls that can practically do an insta kill. Then the giants and their mammoths. I will try not to anger the mammoths but those guys are just very moody. So just look away when you see one poor fella being chased by a herd of mammoths and an entire clan of giants. All to deliver one plant to a farmer for 10 gold or make one potion.

    Yes.... I remember.

Making vet 12 (?) finally and my guild giving me a set of Martial Knowledge which I was so delighted with and touched by their generosity.

Walking from Stonefalls into the Rift by mistake and in chat seeing 'Hey! whats that noob doing here?'
And truly being afraid going into Craglorn.

Finally having enough gold to buy a horse.... which I still ride, the midnight black one.

To be honest for some reason I just figured the mammoths were like back ground animals. Like it didn't even cross my mind that we would aggro them. I mean I SAW the bar over them, but I figured Oh if I attack them this is how powerful they are. But NOPE.....

Yeah mini adventures were always fun. It was a challenge and that was the point. I was always looking for new zones and new areas to explore and uhh die in. Or teaming up with a bunch of low lvl players and light attacking things WAYYYYYYYY bigger and stronger then us. That slight anxiety rush going into a delve/dungeon that you wander into and have NO idea what you're going to face or even if you do know you tell yourself THIS TIME i'm going to make it to the 2nd room or the 3rd room.
Or a classic well now I'm dead how far in can I run before I respawn - can I JUST get past these guys? LOL

I member when my Templar was a baby lvl 16. Word at the wayshire was there was mats that sold well in the higher zones and you could ONLY get them in higher zones. SO I started off to Rawl'kha - had to hitch a ride (you know in zone chat sticking out my virtual thumb), being told by said ride to NOT leave the town that it was dangerous for such a low level.
Buying potions, food and soul gems. Setting out - and getting killed A LOT.
BUT finding my first ever Master chest (only had 5 lock picks, had to ask in zone for some and got 10 sent to me - instead of 2k of them). I was so excited and giddy, my first days haul was not great and I think I made a 50 gold profit for my troubles. It was glorious and exciting.
Attempted Craglorn a few weeks after that - it was sad and funny at the same time. I learned a lot at that time - which ways to go where is was sudo safe and that the higher lvl players were really concerned I was lost, but sometimes taking me along like a younger sibling. I think that's one of the reasons all these years i'm STILL finding stuff I've never seen before. GOOD TIMES GOOOOOOD TIMES

Yes @THWIP71 that was me talking about my Templar, and this other post is about one of my alt toons (which I did mention). I am sure people have many stories - especially if they have more then one character.
I am simply sharing things I remember that give me a chuckle and if others smile from it, all the better.

*EDIT* Ohhhhhhhhh wait I see the issue...it double posted. Hmmm let me see if I can fix that. I apologize as I didn't realize that happened.

Ah... The good ole’ days... I in a sense feel bad for new players, as they won’t get the chance to experience a lot of this. They’ll have missed out on so many amazing moments in ESO’s history.

I’m happy I made this thread. And it’s so comforting in seeing people just like me who remember the days of old.

Remember doing the vampire quest before leveling scaling?

After watching a video(linked below), I did it at level 3 with a bow. The enemies were level 38 so you had to use a set of stairs to repeatedly go up, down and around kiting the enemy with nothing but one bow skill and lights attacks until it slowly died. And it wasn't just one enemy you had to kill. You had to kill 10 enemies, one at a time, kiting them each up and down the stairs 10 times. Took about a half hour with many deaths before I killed all 10 and completed the quest with my new level 3 vampire!

Vampires these days have it so easy!

    Remember the pig farm

Ah, yes... Back when damn near everyone was exploiting, and no 1 really judged you for it. Why? Because everyone was profiting/winning from it... Except of course folks who had to rush to clean their Cadwells to unlock the DC side of things. Lol.

It’s funny you bring that up, as I’m curious if that’s why to this day certain people have so many millions of gold and stacks of Dreugh Wax laying about. On PS4-NA, stacks of wax were selling for 5k at 1 point. No exaggeration. It really got that low. Right in Grahtwood, Elden Root you could pick-up a stack for that. And tons upon tons of Elegant Lining for dirt cheap. I’m talking 500g the cheapest per stack. It was bananas when everyone finally found out about it. Clothing upgrades held truly no value at all at the time damn near. And it was an amazing time to a light armor or medium armor wearer. Because you could just gold out your gear for peanuts.

As for the lag side of things... Oh man. Lol. You used to couldn’t even pass by the door of that damn farm without blue screening. It used to be that jam packed. And certain guilds even started trying to capitalize off of it. They’d charge a fee to let you farm mats in there, and if you called yourself refusing to pay up, they’d spam AoE skills were you were to crash your game. And this could continue over and over again, until you paid the fee to be left alone (which I think was 5k or 10k).

Oh yea I member! Member when players with better pcs and knew how to tweak would crash them in return, give them a ascii macro of flippin the bird and laughed as they farmed without payin? I member!

Member when pvp didnt lag? Member when pvp didnt infinite load or crash? I member!

I 'member soloing craglorn because groups always meant no time for lore. Then I came to crave it for its challenge. It was some of the most fun I had in PvE here... Do miss it, I do.

I think if ZOS did a better job implementing a difficulty curve, they'd never have needed to meet the lowest common potato denominator.

if I remember correctly I had martial knowledge on my magsorc and I was killing stuff in Imperial Sewers to get those materials to craft magnus/seducer dual swords v16

Back in the day, it took me forever to finish my first character. I remember most zones being more and more empty as I progressed. But the time I was "ready" for Craglorn, no one went there anymore, so I still haven't got around to finishing that zone. That's one thing that I actually like about "now" - if you need other people to do a thing, you can find them really easily. I've ran through the required content enough that I skip anything that I can. But the things that you "should" do are not as difficult as they once were. Nobody dies in important fights anymore. Which is kind of a bummer. How does fighting a wet noodle make you feel like your character is doing well? Some things should be challenging and they are not anymore.

I also love my tiger mount. I miss things like that, appreciation for sticking things out.

Do you remember the times of old...?

Do you remember when poison resist and flame resist glyphs were applied on jewelry, if you were a vampire or werewolf? Do you remember when the world bosses would snap you up, if you weren’t at a certain level (Stonefalls saint and Greenshade lightning atronach come to mind)? Do you remember when you wouldn’t dare venture alone in Craglorn, out of fear of the mages and wasps? Even though you could’ve been 2 or 3 veteran ranks stronger than them? Do you remember Martial Knowledge was the set to be farmed, as well as Nirncrux being the go-to trait for damn near everything...? Or even better. When Daedric and Ancient Elf motifs were 80k to 100k each. And selling Daedra Hearts was as profitable as selling Dreugh Wax and all that jazz.

I actually loved the feeling of being able to solo a lot of the craglorn mobs and being proud if it. Nowadays...get off my lawn!!!!
