HAHAHA this reminds me of an instance where i was in the Rift on an alt (I still dislike this zone) and had sort of teamed up with an argonian player. We were both lvl 10/11 something like that. Those dang Trolls were chasing us and a mammoth and Im pretty sure a troll and we were hauling ass trying to get out of there with our plants. I still laugh cry when I think about it...

Ha, I did the same VDoom! I rushed to The Rift a little ahead of my level in order to get my first werewolf bite as soon as possible

Hahahaha lols. Need plants for a profession or quest? Sure no problem, Im just going to have to sneak past some trolls that can practically do an insta kill. Then the giants and their mammoths. I will try not to anger the mammoths but those guys are just very moody. So just look away when you see one poor fella being chased by a herd of mammoths and an entire clan of giants. All to deliver one plant to a farmer for 10 gold or make one potion.
Lots of fun mini adventures just doing one quest. It feels like it was more of a challenge back in the day. Lots of running around, being chased. I mean sure we could quest where we are supposed to but screw that. If I wanna quest in The Rift or Bangkorai I will. xD

SO I started off to Rawl'kha - had to hitch a ride (you know in zone chat sticking out my virtual thumb), being told by said ride to NOT leave the town that it was dangerous for such a low level.
Buying potions, food and soul gems. Setting out - and getting killed A LOT.
BUT finding my first ever Master chest (only had 5 lock picks, had to ask in zone for some and got 10 sent to me - instead of 2k of them). I was so excited and giddy, my first days haul was not great and I think I made a 50 gold profit for my troubles. It was glorious and exciting.
Attempted Craglorn a few weeks after that - it was sad and funny at the same time. I learned a lot at that time - which ways to go where is was sudo safe and that the higher lvl players were really concerned I was lost, but sometimes taking me along like a younger sibling. I think that's one of the reasons all these years i'm STILL finding stuff I've never seen before. GOOD TIMES GOOOOOOD TIMES
I remember:
- There was no Battle Spirit
- There were deers in Cyrodiil
- There was a blinding ability in place of jesus beam
- There was also a blinding ability in place of blade cloak
- Raids would all use Immovable (the ability)
- Dragonknights used to fully spec into bash damage
- DKs could root spam people into Standard, pretty much ensuring death
- Templars were a joke
- Vamp DKs could stand indefinitely by stacking ultimate for Bat Swarm
- There was a temporary bug where you would be totally invisible with infinite bat swarm, making you untargetable
- Snipe was a 3s cast
- V10 was the maximum level before Craglorn came out
- Before Craglorn came out, everyone was in Riften / Rawl'kha. Everyone.
- Trials were extremely profitable for farming Martial Knowledge / Warlock
- Stamina classes were nearly non-existent
- Impulse Trains
- Steel Tornado Trains
- The animations were awkward as hell
- Everything only dropped 1 gold.

Ah, yes... Back when damn near everyone was exploiting, and no 1 really judged you for it. Why? Because everyone was profiting/winning from it... Except of course folks who had to rush to clean their Cadwells to unlock the DC side of things. Lol.
It’s funny you bring that up, as I’m curious if that’s why to this day certain people have so many millions of gold and stacks of Dreugh Wax laying about. On PS4-NA, stacks of wax were selling for 5k at 1 point. No exaggeration. It really got that low. Right in Grahtwood, Elden Root you could pick-up a stack for that. And tons upon tons of Elegant Lining for dirt cheap. I’m talking 500g the cheapest per stack. It was bananas when everyone finally found out about it. Clothing upgrades held truly no value at all at the time damn near. And it was an amazing time to a light armor or medium armor wearer. Because you could just gold out your gear for peanuts.
As for the lag side of things... Oh man. Lol. You used to couldn’t even pass by the door of that damn farm without blue screening. It used to be that jam packed. And certain guilds even started trying to capitalize off of it. They’d charge a fee to let you farm mats in there, and if you called yourself refusing to pay up, they’d spam AoE skills were you were to crash your game. And this could continue over and over again, until you paid the fee to be left alone (which I think was 5k or 10k).
Do you remember the times of old...?
Do you remember when poison resist and flame resist glyphs were applied on jewelry, if you were a vampire or werewolf? Do you remember when the world bosses would snap you up, if you weren’t at a certain level (Stonefalls saint and Greenshade lightning atronach come to mind)? Do you remember when you wouldn’t dare venture alone in Craglorn, out of fear of the mages and wasps? Even though you could’ve been 2 or 3 veteran ranks stronger than them? Do you remember Martial Knowledge was the set to be farmed, as well as Nirncrux being the go-to trait for damn near everything...? Or even better. When Daedric and Ancient Elf motifs were 80k to 100k each. And selling Daedra Hearts was as profitable as selling Dreugh Wax and all that jazz.
do you remember when you could easily kill any world boss just by yourself? farming was a lot easier. now they require 2 or more people...usually more than 2....
