This is so incredibility stupid, 40 for 1 retrait is outrageous, I've already spent almost a year looking for something and now I have to spent (does math in head, really bad math?) A WEEK or so? to get all these crystals for ONE item. We want to remove the heavy grinding, 10 crystals I can do, I think it should be like 5 but I'll settle for 10
General feedback:
Please give the Transmutation Station the ability to change an item's motif in addition to its trait!
Or at least give us another station that has that function.
I was ecstatic to hear about an upcoming transmutation system, but was very disappointed when I learned that it was only going to change traits and not motifs. Farming to get the right trait is honestly not that big of a deal, so changing traits is not particularly necessary. It's more of a nuisance than anything.
But not being able to actually use most of my hard earned, expensive, and awesome looking motifs is so frustrating, especially given the general inferiority of crafted gear compared to dropped sets. Please, please, please let us change crafted and dropped items' motifs!

It's coming, just not in this patch.

Regarding the cap on the number of crystals to 200.
It may be that ZOS are being cautious at this time of introduction but really I do not see any practical reason to have a cap.
All crystals recieved are account bound and once an item is modified it becomes account bound too (if it was not already).
If there "needs" to be a cap then lets have something that works with a player and takes into account the number of characters they have and their play style (for instance characters set up for Trials, PVP, PVE, vMA, etc).
In this case, allowing 40 crystals (1 item) per account character seems workable to me.
You could start with the proposed cap of 200 that would increase by 40 with character 6 to 14 but this could be qualified by needing these later characters** to have achieved level 50 before the increase is applied.
In this way there is a control over the number of items that may be modified at any one time from an amount of banked crystals and it is also scaleable to individual players.

** This implies that 5 chars would already be at level 50 for a 6th character achieving level 50 to then qualify.

Style Transmutation Could Work Similarly to the transmutation of item traits except for a few unique key differences:
- It will require that you already know the style motif page or book to transmute into the selected style (we can use barbaric as an example.)

- It will require the style material (Copper in this case to transmute the item in particular to barbaric style)
