Why queue for a dungeon if you're just gonna solo it?

This specific post, @Nestor , is why I said you should know better. You're wanting to punish someone with a tool explicitly designed for punishment, because they're not conforming to your expectations on gameplay, while they are otherwise

Punish? No. Discipline? Yes. Big difference.

I assumed that the OP tried to talk them, otherwise why post here. If someone never has consequences for their selfish actions which ruin the experience for others, then they will never change their behavior. Its not just my expectations, but the expectations of the group that are not being met.

But it seems that your saying, hey, crap all over everyone else because you join a group and don't play with the group, its OK. You can be a selfish tool in a group dungeon, we will let you, it does not matter that the other 3 are not getting the group experience. No matter that we have to leave and reform a group to get the group experience that everyone signed up for. Heck, after the group kicks them, because remember, it's the group that has to kick the player, we have to spend time to replace them. So, one person ruins it for others and you just want to let that happen and have no consequences so they do it over and over again?

Bottom line, if your in a group with me, and you take off ahead and start killing the mobs and don't come back when asked, your getting kicked. And I will feel no guilt for it.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

You are correct. When somebody storms off into the dungeon and starts to put a huge gap between the rest of the group, I always ask in chat 'Can you wait for rest of group please'
    Mostly its met with silence
Sometimes its met with some comment along the lines of 'git gud and keep up'
But only ONCE ever did somebody say , and I quote (cos it shocked me so much I remember it) "Soz, omw back'
Unfortunately the attitude of the person that storms off in a group activity, is usually not an attitude conducive to getting a reasonable outcome from asking them to wait.

I always make it known if I need the quest. I just simply request that one of them stay in group until I can complete the quest. Most people, even farmers, will respect that. 9 times out of 10, people will give you the same respect you give them.
This always annoying me too, also then I wait for others they newer tells then down.

its no issue clearing trash while other listen to quest, even if this might annoy new players, new players might also get lost has seen that many times, banish cells is classical here.

And the most fun is the go go go in wayrest or worse IcP then the run ahead player locks out the others.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

LoL, I was wondering how a thread could become this long in such a short time. Then I realized that @Hortator Indoril Nerevar still hasn't recovered from the shock of having been kicked from a PUG and having a thread about it closed in the forums. Nearly a week later, he still transfers his whole issue into another thread...

a person soloing the dungeon for you is probably better than a team that gets stuck for hours ;)

So if I sum it up, from this quote as well as from other posts in other threads...
    - When you're telling people how to play, you're helping them
    - When you're rushing a dungeon regardless of non-rushing players, you're helping them

How about stopping helping people altogether ? You know, helping people means helping them becoming who and how THEY want to be, not how you want them to be or think they should be. Translated into a videogame, it means helping people is about helping them playing the way THEY want, not how YOU want or think is good for them...

Not everyone in a GAME is all about speed and efficiency. There are many other things that people actually enjoy a lot.

Help a new player = DONT TELL ME HOW TO PLAY
Dont help a new player = HOW CAN I GET BETTER IF YOU DONT

Answer = you are a sook and never happy.

How did you end up with a healer you're not confident with ?
    Oh, ok, 'cause you PUGged.
Why did you PUG if you expect people to be how you want them to ? Don't you have guilds ? Friends ?

It's not like good players are rare in this game. If you want to run with them, socialize with them, run with them. No more random PUG. Problem solved. Everyone is happy.

Where have I said I want or need to go slow ?

If I want to do a speedrun, I ask my friends and guildies.
If I want to do a slow-immersion-reading-exploring run, I ask my friends and guildies.

You don't trust gamers who aren't happy to actually complain ?
When everyone at the end of a PUG dungeon says "gg, bb, cya, nice run" , doesn't that mean that everyone was happy ?

I feel truly sorry for you if you have to resort to bookkeeping forum "agrees" to comfort you in your opinions and popularity.
And by the way, you still haven't answered the question as to why you actually PUG if you hate it so much.

You act like your personal experience is the maximum amount of volume you need to form an opinion. When you go on the forums the majority of people in these kind of threads interact with the opposing side to your argument with awesome, agree and insightful tags and also a much larger majority of people counter your points in replies.

You feel sorry for me? You are the person who thinks your experience makes up reality and not the maths..

I pug for multiple reasons which you have heard multiple times but care not to remember because its not in your ignorant bubble of thought... higher gear rates, exp, quicker reset time, quicker runs if dont smooth etc.

You know this already but you needed something to follow the "personal attack" to soften your image of insecurity..

Do 3 of your friends play every second you are online? Not only are they online EVERY second you are on but are they farming the EXACT armour you want? Not just that are they willing to go at the intensity that you want none stop for EXACTLY as long as you want?

So you understand from your FRIENDS that they may have other priorities than you, but not from PUGs ? You expect from total random strangers to play at your speed, at your conditions ("ele drain"...), with the same objectives (quick gear farming) ... ? Are you aware that people run dungeons for a lot of different reasons and motivations... ?

Oddly enough, I have enough friends to have at least some of them online at any given time.
And they might come help farm my gear even if that's not what they need. Because that's what friends do for each other. Just like I'll come help farm their gear.
A bit of flexibility helps when it comes to friendship, though.

No I expect nothing from pugs. Asking someone for a skill to be slotted is not demanding. Its called asking for a reason. I go into a pug like anyone else. With my own reasons.. I am the one ok with people doing what they want.. YOU are one telling everyone to go as slow as the slowest in the group..

My friends and I are very close but that does not mean they need to farm a dungeon they dont need for me. Want to know the amazing reason why?

    GROUP FINDER.

You are so blind you cant even see that you are the one asking others to do something FOR YOU and we just want to group and do our thing. Just like anyone else in the group can.

They kick me for going to fast, cool bad luck me. Ill re group. However if I dont get kicked and I finish the dungeon with them barely keeping up, well good for me and who ever chose to not kick me.

Its not all about you... however you think every way you do things is the RIGHT way and pretend to white knight.. pathetic.

My friends and I are very close but that does not mean they need to farm a dungeon they dont need for me. Want to know the amazing reason why?
    GROUP FINDER.

So you prefer to use a tool that groups you with people so bad and so horrible that you end up complaining about them and mocking them in countless forum threads, rather than doing it with your friends.
Doesn't sound logical to me. But do as you please.
They kick me for going to fast, cool bad luck me.

    I doubt that.
"But you complained about being kicked"

Yup you did. Regardless of anything else, really.

For me it depends on a lot of things. If you've got a guy that can solo the dungeon and he's moving fast and he clearly doesn't need anyone's help, then just put on your running shoes and get your pack ready to pick up loot. Help when you can and enjoy the free ride.

Anyone that is running ahead and getting killed is a totally different story. Those guys need to stay with group.
