I took all my CP out and did it once, but that was in like...Shadows of the Hist patch or something. What an annoying run... You can complete it with low CP if you build a little extra regen and health, and Harness will be your friend. Expect long fights.

Edit: Oh, and that was in heavy armor with pre-Morrowind Siphoning Attacks for sustain. It'd be much harder now, but I imagine it's doable.

Update:
So I have it a shot tonight and made it to the end of round 2 and got owned by the 3 dwarven centurions. Definitely can tell a difference in difficulty from normal to veteran. I also realize the same strategys that work in normal don't work as effectively in vet. Man those spinning blades are 90% of my deaths. Lol. Guess I need to git gud.

I cleared mine low cp 400ish, like everyone said, its all about mechanics and some good kiting and knowing spawns. Having a higher cp really helps for the extra dps, damage mitigation, and resource management. first clear will take a while and it will be very frustrating, i dont think i raged so hard at any other video game

Thanks. After my first attempt tonight I see I will need to readjust my approach. Enemies hit a lot harder and have a ton more health.

At 403 CP, you are far more powerful than most of us were the first time we completed it. VMA came out about 9 months after CP were introduced. I want to say I was around CP 250 on my first complete (about a month after release). Your CP is not an issue. And frankly, thanks to some skill changes and gear options, VMA is easier than it was at launch.

Biggest thing about VMA the first time is going in prepared. Use a proven build and take it slow. Dont get frustrated, analyze your death recaps, and make adjustments. Also dont hesitate to go overboard on sigils until you are clearing in under an hour.

Personally i think I completed first time at like 500. I tried at 300 but gave up thinking it was my cp. When i tried again later i had just as much trouble and found out i had to L2P and CP had literally nothing to do with my troubles lol.

Did it on magblade btw, but cp is such a small factor in player skills. I have met max level players that cannot and will not do endgame stuff due to never really learning how the game works as a whole

At 50 CP, the bigger problem would be the availability of gear.

My lowest is when I did it with I think 200 CP on my EU account. Wanted to do it at 160 CP, but in the time it took for me to get skills and passives unlocked, skill points, and acquire gear, I had already advanced to 200 CP.

First clear I did was on magplar with 289 CP.

I´ve however completed it with CP disabled and made a flawless run (no sigils) with my magplar after that. It´s doable, but not recommended.

It's not really CP, it's more your Gear and Rotation setup and understanding the mechanics of each boss. Focus on sustain and the mechanics and be prepared to die A LOT. But eventually you'll get the hang of it and probably walk through it under an hour.
