I wasn't using it before. I wasn't using anything from that skill tree.

Nothing in the siphoning tree is useful for a staminablade. Except the one passive called Catalyst.
Stamblade rly needs more utility or healing from the siph tree.

nope not at all, i already barely use it, and to me it just looks like a waste of a skillslot and casttime, especially with the upcoming changes its gonna be a very easy decision for me.

Maybe i am missing something, but i don't want a skill in my bar that i should NOT press for 20 seconds to get the benefit. It does not fit my playstyle. I like to rebuff/recast buffs or even ground abilities BEFORE the effects run out, not the other way around.

It is situational. There are certain buffs that are so important that you make sure your rotation keeps them up, but there are other buffs and dots that you don't keep up because they are so expensive and are "sometimes skills". For example, on my pet sorc, I keep crit surge up 120% of the time because i need the heals and the damage, but i only keep my volatile familiar and curse up whenever I get around to it because they are so expensive. They drop off before liquid lightning and barrier drop, and I get around to going back to my back bar when those two skills run out.

When you paint a cloud, you have to let the negative space and the gaps show through, otherwise you end up with a big white blob. Finding a good DPS rhythm is the same, you have to know what to keep up and what to let drop otherwise you end up with no resources.

I'm posting this sorcerer info because I'm practicing my mag sorc in anticipation of having to shelve my nightblades for the next 6 months or longer and you guys might want to prepare to do the same. I think i'm at the "acceptance" part of grieving over my night blades now, or maybe this is bargaining... "I can still have nightblades in 6 months! All zeni has to do is not just talk about how bad NB's are! I'll just play Wrobel's MagSorc until then!"

I understand your reasoning and agree that some skills should be situational, also the Morrowind changes lean towards exactly that (fulfilling that negative space and gaps), because in live almost all dps rotations are "white blobs". While i concur with the general direction of the changes, we were talking specifically about Siphoning Strikes. The reason why i don't want to slot this skill once Morrowind goes live, is completely different. It's because the skill is VERY CLUNKY. ESO combat is supposed to be fast paced and engaging, but that skill is utterly slow in both pvp and pve environments. Let's give some examples:
    - You are fighting 3 enemies is Cyrodill and you realize that you are getting out of magicka, due to using shields to keep yourself alive... What is your next move? I need magicka, let's use siphoning strikes... Well now i just need to stay alive more 20 sec with an empty magicka bar to get my resource back... Or maybe i should just respawn in the nearest keep because i am dead... Hmm...
    - We are in Maelstrom arena, we need to rebuff ourselves after an exhausting round... Ahh damn it, Syphoning Strikes is still on cooldown, i should wait more 10 seconds to get my magicka back... 10 seconds later... Oh Syphoning Strikes faded! Let me use it, "switch bars - Crematorial Guard does his thing - Uh i am dead!" Well...

The issue with this ability is that it no longer has a place in the game. For PvE you wouldn't use this due to the shift towards heavy attack weaving. In PvP waiting 20 seconds to gain stamina is ridiculous.

Then there's the irritating fact that you'll get more stamina from one dark exchange than you will from the entire duration of Leeching Strikes, and you'll get 4k stamina over 20 seconds with the Warden's Betty for free, and with no light attack weaving required. Then there's the fact that this ability punishes you for reactivating your ability early. This ability is now garbage.

I've never used it, and have no plans to use it.

I'm a console player so I can't test. But I'm guessing it will become a situational ability now. On live I use it in both aoe & single target fights on my tank. Currently I use it to sustain both resources in aoe fights with light attack weaving to keep using both sap essence & bone surge up, an aoe heal & group shield. Now I'm having a hard time picturing how I would still be able to use both as a magicka nb tank & not just with the changes to siphoning strikes but also with the changes to shards.

not really situational. it just essentially became the same thing siphon spirit/elemental drain only worse. really irritating.

I think this poll is mostly overreaction.

I don't want to be the black crow, but 5 torugs + infused weapon + restore resources glyph = best regen than Siph attacks.

For mageblades running HA and destro (mostly force pulse), it can be an option. You can combine that with SA to get a heal while weaving, without using strife... the thing is that magSorcs also have access to that combo...

    Same here.
Theres gonna be a whole skill tree for nightblades that are basicly useless for stamina builds, apart from the passive catalyst where you get ulti back from drinking a pot. Otherwise siphoning skills has nothing to bring stamina.

The only change from 3.0.3 is increased dmg of Path by 11%.
Well... actually not bad. Really. But still - no changes to grim, sipho, cloak.

This will be a buff if all you do is Twisting Path.
