I have, but only with the crowns that comes when my ESO+ refreshes, and even then I don't spend all my crowns on it. I don't think I will ever buy crowns to purchase crates outside from the crowns I get from being subscribed. Personally, I wish ZoS didn't go this route, most of the items in those crates, I wish I can buy with crowns. I'm not a big fan of gambling, I want my purchases to be something worth it, and not feeling that I just wasted real money for a potion or a scroll (which I can craft in game). But it is a business, and they can do whatever they think is good for their business. It's just my choice not to indulge (too much) of what they think is right for their business.

Bought 2 lots 15 crates before xmas, got crap so never ever again.....

ZOS can put as many sparkles, lights, mirrors or whatever on their mounts as they like, I will never ever purchase these crown crates again.

Unless I can guarantee what my money buys me I'm not in to it ..

No and I'm rather proud of that considering they've introduced the second edition of crates. The gems conversion is way too little, they contain many items I would never spend money for and now they put like 3-4 hats that basically look the exact same as some of the more rare rewards. They clearly don't want my money.

I bought enough Storm ones to get gems for unlocking the Wrestler's Buzzcut hair which I always wanted on my character (Commander Shepard anyone?). I bought enough Wild Hunt ones because as a leader of a werewolf guild and owner of our guild hall, honour demanded we had Statue and Banner of Hircine. I do my best to avoid them but when items I consider mandatory in my game experience are locked behind it, I feel like I have no choice. I had to use 4 storm crates and 8 wild hunt crates to get the things I wanted so in the end it was something I could afford. I do feel bad for the people who crave the mounts in there, unless they are really lucky, they in for lots of money spent. Also I dislike that I can't convert unwanted crate items, maining only a male Breton since the game launched, women's and argonian's hairs are pretty much useless to me yet I have to put up with them if I get from crates...

Nope. But don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Crown crates because it's one kind of thing in the Crown store that I will never be tempted to spend money on.

I've never liked Grab Bags or Mystery boxes because I learned Long Ago when I was a little kid that you never get anything good out of them... and certainly never anything that you actually WANT.

The more time they spend making stuff for the Crown Crates, the less time they will spend making things that I actually want, that's what I figure... and that's good for my bank account.

I wonder how many 'no' voters from the August 2016 poll are no longer playing the game / how much crossover there is with the current crop of voters.

Clearly some of those people from the previous poll came to accept gambling as the only way to get the cosmetic items they want and those who don't are the minority now.

I bought a couple... I got a dress(only play male characters), an ugly guar mount(self explanatory), a Khajiiti body pattern(Don't have any Khajiit), and a weird looking face cosmetic(why would I use that?)... Since you can't convert the unwanted crap to gems now I'm stuck with all of it cluttering up my collections. They need to make it so you can convert ANY items you don't want instead of just the ones you already have. Also there's the fact that the conversion rate is awful.

To add to my last post, I couldn't for the life of me remember why I quit the game for so long the last time I left. It just occurred to me that I didn't quit because the game was bad. I left because I was spending WAY too much money for the items I wanted. I'm the type of person that likes to buy in game cosmetics and can't help myself most the time, so I had no choice but to leave. I've got it under control now but I still purchase things here and there. I will never gamble on crates again.

Nope. The glowy, cartoon mounts, bulk of the appearance items and consumables are of no interest to me and the gem conversion rate is too low. I dearly wanted the chub loon pet, but not enough to gamble for it.

I think I bought 13. 9 Atronach, 4 Wild Hunt.

I wish I hadn't.

The only good thing I got was the Ancestor Moths - which was from the gems from cashing everything else in.

I got some costumes/mounts/mementos that I didn't want. I have two dogs now... I also used the 2 or 3 riding lessons I got. But everything else (including the soulshriven robe I got an extra two times) I turned to gems.

With the gems I had bought the doom wolf and the spinner costume.
