The loading screens issue was annoying but it didn't make me leave the game. I did stop playing for a while when my guild fell apart. I have also noticed that the community in this forum is very different than what it was at launch. I do believe a lot of good people have left the game but that's not to say that its all doom and gloom. I still have a good time playing and still find plenty of people for impromptu groups. I will say that I don't PvP as much as I used to but I'm considering getting back into it.

"Top three reasons you considered leaving"

I don't consider leaving & I mostly enjoy the game. The only part of the game I definitely don't enjoy is PvP. So if I would leave the game then those would be the reasons:

    1. RNG. & too much grinding (especially when it comes to BiS gear for PvP & Alliance points - to unlock skill points).
    2. Incredibly unbalanced and broken PvP.
    3. ZOS ignoring some "minor" bugs and not fixing them (some of those bugs are like 2 years old LoL ).

2.Gear/Weapon grinding (I don't find it fun to spend hours at a time repeating the same dungeons/trials getting proper gear/weapons from an already terrible RNG system)
    3. DPS system

    1) Lag

    2) Very little if any challenging solo content. I know it's an MMO but sometimes I just want to log in for 20 mins and have fun, but I can just button mash the same 2 skills and am virtually immortal, whether soloing dolmen, or in public dungeon soloing boss, and I'm not really a good player by any means. When the game was released mages guild and fighters guild bosses were fun, now they've been nerfed at least twice, zero challenge.

I appreciate the game has to cater to all playing styles, hence just some hard solo content would keep me happy, I group up a couple of times a week for PvP etc, rest of the time I'm doing my thing and it's just too easy.

    3) Balance meaning that just only one or possibly two builds are viable for whatever class you play. Meaning you end up using the same few skills over and over if you want to run dungeons or succeed at PvP

I'll add a 4th, Forum idiots like Ozstryker in post 28, that lack the intelligence to tell the difference between whining and those of us who love the game but really want certain things to improve. It's always those complaining about complainers/whiners etc that make the forum look toxic, whereas, most of the complaints are from people that love the game and wish ZoS was more open and fixed things quicker.

I only have one complaint significant enough that, when first evaluating this game as a potential ‘keeper’ caused me to consider dumping it.

The type of character I prefer to play is a no melee archer backed up by magic. The medieval fantasy trope is so often: ‘If you pick up a bow, you must back it up with dagger(s). If you take up magic, you must not touch a bow.’ Seriously, I have rejected countless games for worshipping this mantra.

I found a home in Diablo II long ago as a bow/magic amazon. I found homes in both Oblivion and Skyrim as a mystic archer.

After trying a bow/bow NB, I rejected that char. A bow/bow stamsorc worked ever so much better but it was frustrating to have all that stam and pass up dw while not really being able to optimize many of the sorc abilities. At that point, I considered dumping ESO.

On a lark, I tried a staff. As horrible as they were in Oblivion/Skyrim, I completely fell in love with ESO staves. As karma would have it at about that time my bow/bow stamsorc found herself over her head solo in a public dungeon. A CP561 magplar took pity on her plight and asked her to group. As that high level magplar helped her through the dungeon I was truly inspired. Not only by their awesome abilities but by their kind willingness to help a struggling character.

Well, to shorten the story, my character is now a resto/resto magplar healer and has never looked back from that glorious playstyle. Icing on the cake is that, while in dungeons, she has had several opportunities to ‘Be that Templar’ who is willing and able to help younger players who look like they are struggling.

While I still criticize ESO’s limitations when it comes to bow/bow, my character has found a happy niche as a healer.

    1. Random absurdly long loading screens in pve and pvp + the incredible lag.
    2. EVERYTHING is f****** RNG, every time they add something new to the game its decided to be squezed in the already existing sources with abismal chance. Instead they could create new sources and activities to reward those (like the fun events a certain game is famous for).
    3. Slow response to feedback about things clearly broken (not talking about balance or player whinning).

    1. bugs. I quit for a year when I first started because the quest I was on was so badly bugged I couldn't complete it. It was the last straw in a litany of nasty crash bugs at launch. I went and played another game that actually worked.

    3. Pay 2 Win: they had better not do this. It's ruined every MMO I've ever played that went down that road.

Top 3 reasons I considered taking a break from the game in the past:
    1. Class/skill/gear balance in PvP. So many variables, it's no wonder it's rough.
    2. VRs. VR cost, VR grind per character, VR increase and gear refreshes.
    3. Animation canceling. Not the concept of weaving attacks, combos, or just adding gameplay to combat. Just the unintended implementation feeling sketchy, not uniform across class/weapon skills, and hiding important visual cues/making combat uglier visually.

Bonus top 3 reasons I started playing ESO more than ever:
    1. 1T and scaling all content. ESO became what GW2 was supposed to be for me. This really changed everything (in a great way) for me.
    2. Removing VRs. Although the power-creep with CPs has a somewhat questionable future, if feels like a less doomed system with more flexibility for tweaking.
    3. Reigning in 1vX. This is a controversial one, but I actually like the affect that poisons had on infinite resources and the burst damage introduced with damage proc sets. Immortality is still achieved, but it feels less common.
Something being unbalanced in 1v1 does not imply that it is balanced in group play.

    1. Templar nerfs and negligence of the class entirely. Handing out one or two skills that people cry about, and that should make us feel balanced. It's embarrassing to see the biased favouritism towards the classes the devs play themselves.
    2. Cheating. Everything from Razer mice coupled with Chimpeon and equivalent autoclickers to damn right scripts and mem cheats.
    3. Stamina master race with multi instant proc sets along with sets that by far are superior in damage output, proc chance and cooldown to anything magicka. An example is that stamina has a monster set that on one piece adds 1935 Physical Penetration, magicka has none. There are two sets that add 2% Healing Done something that most certainly works to an advantage for stamina's i.e. well OP Vigor too. [There should be one Monster Set that adds 2% healing done, and one set that adds 1935 Spell Penetration....]

As far as number three goes, do not rule it out. ZOS has amazing skills at finding new ways to disappoint the player base. I really think I may just give up on the increasingly obvious cash grab of a game.

TL;DR: ZOS has wrecked the IP grabbing cash along the way.
