Duels didn't bother me as it was really no different than before when people would spam every ability that didn't require a target just for the hell of it. I remember when Mutagen wad glitched and you could spam cast it 20 times in a 4 seconds period, which was so much worse than duels. Mournhold looked like a rave party with all the glow sticks everywhere, and god forbid they had SPC on.

I used to be against it in towns until I got bored of the same old PvE thing and now, I don't mind it at all. It allows people wishing to duel to find others quickly. Do I think people should be doing it in banks or next to crafting tables etc etc? No, but busy wayshrines are fine because it's where most people just hang around anyway doing nothing other than trash talk or spamming their AoE's. At least now they have the option of actually doing something the game encourages them to do.

I think something should be done about the bots and rubber banders that ruin certain areas for those wishing to play the game how it's intended to be played, not those using a feature ZoS gave us to use.

But it also means people have problems loading into towns where people are dueling right on the wayshrine. I end up having to alt+f4 and pick a wayshrine outside of the town in order to go to a town now, it's obnoxious. All because duel w****s feel they need an audience. Let's face it, if you're so cool that people would want to watch you, they'd subscribe to your twitch stream, if you need to FORCE people to watch you by doing stuff right on top of populated areas, you're not so cool.

and honestly, I'm not saying you COULDN'T duel in towns under the system I propose, I'm just saying that if you do you're probably going to find your duel interrupted by STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM!

You'll pay bounties for it and might find yourselves getting slaughtered by the guards.

So smart people would avoid towns

But you could still do it.

Just as I figured when they added in dueling it'd be happening right next to the waypoints in every city in every zone unless the zone is dead. It's a bother in MMO's and a visual eyesore that doesn't belong smack in the middle of towns.

Make it incur a bounty so that duelers have to avoid the guards/witnesses and take that bother out in the wilderness where it doesn't bother anyone else.

It's not as bad as it was when OT dropped. It was congested the first few months but it grows on you. It's also really fun to accept a duel from someone around your level and battle it out for a bit, tis a rush.

A lot of us had wanted designated dueling areas as well, such as Hammerdeath Arena in Stormhaven. ZoS ignored us though and decided to market Homestead as a "Build your own Arena! Manors have been tested to meet performance of 24 players dueling all at once!" Pretty stupid since they can't even prevent performance issues with people dueling outside wayrest.

It is better than people spamming abilities for no reason. Now, at least, there is a reason.

I hated that so bad. Glad that all stopped. It was so stupid, everybody running around casting spells all day, why? Dumb af.

Before duels were introduced players still spammed their skills in cities & near wayshrines & they will continue to do so no matter what the state of duelling is.

Duelling is a crime! The duelists are given a trial by combat, the divines will judge them worthy or not! :D

    how are they an eyesore?

trying to look at the screen of the guild sales to buy matterials i need to make armor for someone and i cant focus because your magicka casting is not only shaking the screen but it is also causing flares and fighting flashes of light and sound that interferes with purchases.

It's cute that you think you're more deserving than the next person. People have as much right to stand there duelling as you do crafting or buying. You might not agree with that, but the game doesn't and shouldn't revolve around your every whim and your unreasonable expectations.

    That goes both ways.

Go try to challenge someone to a duel right now, irl, go out in the streets and start punching each other in front of the cops. Surely they'll just let you have at it because it's an agreement between two people, it's not like you're disrupting other people at all!

Newsflash: Crafting and shopping has to be done in fixed locations. Dueling can be done anywhere.

Why do the duelers have to let their graphics effects fly all over the screen, in a location where it bothers other people the most, in a game that has serious performance issues to begin with? Especially recently, with all the ugly bugs after the Homestead patch?

I very much agree that dueling has to be kept out of major cities like Rawl'kha!

People just feel intimidated by players who duel.

They like to use excuses, causes server lag.

Let me ask you something. Has the servers ever shut down because of dueling?
    Nah, didnt think so.

Just cuz you are a baddie doesn't mean you got to spoil the fun for everyone.

One other thing to think about.
One thing you hear PvP'er say a lot "Being a PvP'er we broke as hell all the time"

This is why they are GLADIATORS. Aka from the movie Gladiator. They are not peasant folks, just getting by. They live fight and breathe duels for a living.

Thats why they fight in towns.
    They cannot afford a house
    They need the money

    They duel in towns.
Yes, rich folk... 50 Million and over gold people, they actually pay to watch good fights.

Instead of feeling intimidated by PvP'ers aka GLADIATORS.
    Learn. Learn from them instead.
