    Tom Brady plays ESO

Uses cheat engine, gap closes into keeps, multiple mundus exploit, and tea bags you after using a proc set.

    Sounds like you're jealous.
He's a 4 time super bowl mvp, and you probably live in your mom's basement.

4 time super bowl mvp. Does that make him a contributing member of society?

That was a rhetorical question. Running around with a ball does not benefit society. People who do the 9 to 5 jobs that barely make ends meet are more important.

If you've already watched the full Morrowind trailer, you didn't miss anything. It was an edited version of that.

To the larger question of audience, the Superbowl has long become an excuse to have a gathering of friends and family with lots of food. Besides the game, there's the halftime show and the commercials that draw viewers in, one of the highest ratings events annually. I'd gather half the people at any given party are not regular followers of professional American football. Although the game itself was a good one; great plays by both teams and first time the game has ever gone to overtime.

You're just incorrect -- you're just fundamentally incorrect.

So the conversation is about Brady, but this applies to every top athlete from every sport around the world, and also to a lesser extent, to celebrities in general.

Most of the time, this argument is "They're overpaid" -- that's completely moronic, and I'll address that in a second -- but right now I'm dealing with this garbage: "Running around with a ball does not benefit society. People who do the 9 to 5 jobs that barely make ends meet are more important."

You're saying that he's no more of a contribution to society than someone who makes $11 an hour managing a Denny's. You are significantly understating how much of a positive effect he has on quite literally millions of people on an emotional level. If he inspires just one person to better themselves, to follow their dreams, or to never give up -- he's already surpassed the unnamed Denny's worker in terms of benefit to society -- and we all know it isn't just one person that he inspires. Not going to get into Brady's personal story because I want this to be about more than him, but in terms of inspirational success stories -- I can't think of a better one than his. The four MVPs are just a part of what makes him, him and he's one of the most inspirational, and influential athletes of all time. This is about "Benefit to society" and he directly benefits members of society far more than your manager at Denny's. Not even mention his work with the community or charitable donations, just forget all that -- you don't those things to make this argument.

A way to charge millions for commercials and watch over payed guys sit on a bench.

The New England Patriots operating income from 2016 was $212m. The player expenses were $182m. In other words they're paying $182m and making a profit of $212m. If you can look at this, and still assert that they're overpaid -- I question your business acumen.

You know what is sort of funny? If you didnt know what elder scrolls online was, and thought, hey that looks awesome! I want to play that! The commercial gives you nothing to tell you that, you could go do exactly that right now. Nope just the date for morrowind and this product is not yet rated.

So a commercial for a product 5 months away and no mention that the rest of the game is live right now. You would think they could have snuck that into the budget.

    And.. here it is..

I hope this brings in a lot of new players!

I feel like they missed a golden opportunity there. If they had added one of the voiced lines from the trailer (presumably the last bit) and that beautiful Morrowind soundtrack over top of the video it would've gotten a lot more people interested. Those are the kinds of things that make a trailer interesting and stand out (I know it did for me plus the nostalgia for the original Morrowind game... my eyes might've watered a bit lol). Regardless, however, I do agree. I hope this brings in more players and gets ESO the support they deserve.

I feel like they missed the emotion hook in the ad. I would have done it like this:

0:08-0:11 : (shows Argonian slaves carrying trunks) and then the voice over asking: "What do you ask of me assassin?" then
0:14-0:18: "Sanction to execute the Grandmaster for his betrayal of the order."
0:33-0:37 (shows Naryu dropping down behind the Grandmaster and him turning to see her).
0:43-0:46 (Naryu turns and gives that "you're gonna die" look, then smiles).
0:53-0:56 (shows Grandmaster turning and running up the stairs).
1:09-1:12(shows Naryu almost land the killing blow to the Grandmaster, but gets knocked away by Dwemer spider).
2:25-2:27(shows explosion fallout). Jump to ending:
    3:28-3:29 "Return swiftly" jump to:
3:33- 3:37 "and bring any allies you meet with you, Morrowind has need of you all"

3 seconds of music... End video.

I might be off a few seconds (I tried to keep it at 30 seconds), but I think that would have been a more emotional hook, and would have conveyed a better glimpse into the longer trailer. If I was someone watching that for the first time, I think I would have wanted to see the longer trailer just to see what created the explosion I only got to see 1 second of... :)

The Championship match of Americas most popular sport (American Football). It's regularly the most watched broadcast in America each year according to Nielsen, and practically an unofficial holiday in America. To put this into perspective, 19 out of the 20 most watched Television broadcasts in US history are the Superbowl.

Those player suffer irreversible damage that can't be fixed. CTE is found in a vast majority of former NFL players. No amount of money would convince me to put my body through that kind of hell.

The real discussion is why employers are allowed to pay people a wage that doesn't pay for the bare essentials. A study came out a few years ago that said the average Walmart storefront receives $1mil dollars in government assistance to its employees. So, the taxpayers are subsidizing one of the largest corporations in the world.

That's more BS than an NFL players paycheck.

The Superbowl is like the World Cup of American football.

Even I watched it when I was living in America, and I don't even watch real football. Although American football looks more like rugby, which is more interesting to watch (and play), except for some reason they stop every time it's about to get interesting and everyone goes back to the start.

But as people have said it's also popular for the half-time show and the adverts. If you want to get something on TV seen by most of America that's the time to do it so companies tend to go all-out.

First rule of football is, if the ball touches the ground or goes out of bounds, end of play. So in general, the players are out to knock each other on their asses as quickly as possible. That's why so much body armor is a requirement to play and they still sustain ridiculous injuries and longterm brain damage. Imagine playing pool and the goal is to get the cue ball from one end of the table, through the other balls, to the other side, then imagine that ball is somebody's head. This is why some of the best runners have ridiculous jump height, to avoid impacts such as this.

I only ever watch the Bowl and not the rest of the playoffs but this is kinda the bare minimum football knowledge if you're in the US. I was lucky growing up. I had a huge head and at the age of 13 there were no helmets, middle or high school, that would fit me. So my not-dreams of playing football were dashed.

You know these advertising spaces are worth around 5 million dollars ? Well, maybe slighly less for "pre-game" than for "half-time", but still.
Do you think these contracts are negotiated within one week ? It must take several months.
Which means, the superbowl advert was decided and paid for long before the oculus trial even took place.

With all the editing done to the Morrowind trailer for the Super Bowl, it looks more like an advertisement for for an action movie with minimal plot to it. :p

Not the sort of thing that would make me play a game.

    Zenimax, independant ???
As far as I know, the big boss of the Zenimax/Bethesda empire is... Robert Altman. Lawyer and businessman (nothing negative implied here, it's just that he's not directly related to the creative, artistic, technological or even gaming aspects of video games). I wouldn't call Zenimax independant.
Definition of "independance" may vary, though.
