Dye Weapons with Morrowind?

It has no effect on gameplay, as much as people would argue that. So why not.

Would love to be able to dye my weapons in order to match my armor color schemes. We can already dye armor and shields so I don't think weapon dyes are too far fetched.

Hopefully it becomes part of the base game instead of exclusive to ESO+ members.

On a side note would reskinning/remodeling weapon/armor appearances be too much to ask? I know this feature is in other games. Being able to transform the appearance of gear you love in to gear you love the look of too. Wow! I think this could add another layer of depth to crafting. (Maybe exclusive to 9 trait crafters?) Just throwing the idea out there.

I can't think of a single reason not to have it. And it should be allowed to dye the weapon to any color that can be used for armor/shields, a sword with a wierd color is not worse than having armor with that color.

"Thousands of players" do not visit the forums. Considering this poll is more successful than the vast majority of polls ever created in this forum, I think the turn-out is good. The sample size is more than high enough to extrapolate inferences as to the desires of the larger player-base.

Your sarcasm and abstention from voting is always welcome. It gives me a reason to bump the thread. Keep it coming.

I foresee it'll come as a crown store feature, and the subsequent hell raised by the player base.

Can't you see the HUGE potiential money income that this feature has?

    Why not abuse it?

Many months ago, on ESO Live.

"Weapon dyeing is the cause of many heated debates in the team"
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

As you can once again see from this poll, much like all the previous polls, OVERWHELMINGLY players want weapon dying. I think it's time for this feature to be added to the game, IF you 'listen to the players' like you say you do. If you have the majority of players wanting it added, why is there any need for an 'internal' discussion about adding it, it should be a foregone conclusion... give players what they want. I think we have more outlandish items running around in ESO than worrying about what color someone's weapon is.

It is the year 2017 of our Lord. We have Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Justice System, New Trials/Raids, a *** of style motiffs, lots of other DLC, and can dye Armor and Shields.

Yet weapons are clearly too much of a hassle?

Honestly i don't understand this. We really don't need bloody rainbow coloured swords. That's just ridiculous and immersion breaking. Worst idea ever imo.

@shadelon Our swords are already yellow, green, red, blue... did I mention the red was max level, as in everyone and their mother has red swords. My first v16 weapon was an Ancient Elf style staff, it was a damned red/green christmas tree.

So in other words weapon dyeing other than wood doesn't make sense due to the limits of heating metals which is required according to ppl who know about metals (the Internet says)

So in our time we'd need better forges to change colors wich is basically crafting so changing a color in terms of metal is only possible if painted

Tons of assumptions to what they could be arguing about

Oddly I think many are saying yes to paint

BECAUSE MAGIC AND IMAGINATION OF THE PLAYER AREN'T THINGS, RIGHT?! MAN, WHATEVER THE HELL AM I TO DO NOW?

I would love to be able to reskin my gear. I didn't think this would be needed or a problem until I started to farm end game gear with my girlfriend. Yes, I want awesome sets. But I don't want to look like some cobbled together bum who couldn't afford a full set of a particular motif and had to find other gear to go with it. Some motifs go well together, but most look funny when you are trying to wear those dungeon sets.

On the dye for weapons. I am behind it all the way. I am tired of red swords. Clashes hard with the color scheme I use for my gear.

and if they don't wanna do it cause they're worried about weapons looking ridiculous, at least let us revert them to previous tier colors, like the blue from heartwood and voidstone, and so on (cant remember anything before that lel)
