Weapon Dyeing?

Is weapon dyeing coming into the game at all?

Recently made a pair of V16 faction swords and they look like plastic swords with that red blade, at least with voidstone the blade was black and not so garish.

I know some people like the colour, but at least give us the choice, please add weapons in the Armour/Shield dyeing menus.

I could see the three options you can dye being, Blade/Head of Staff, Shaft, and Wrap/Grip

Thank you.

I hate Red.. well anything! Should be simple enough, I don't know why they didn't introduce this when you could dye the shield?

The red is awful.. There definitely will be more customization in the future. Just recently we're able to dye shields. All must be patient.

I would love to see Weapon dying. I have wondered why we dont have it. The Rubedite Red weapons look awesome on my nightblades, but on my templar? No. looks kinda of weird. Would love to be able to dye them.

Shouldn't be so hard to implement in the game I think. Since it must ben pretty much the same as the armor dying process.
Hope they will add it, would be nicer to have a more unique weapon instead of seeing others walk around with the exact same weapon and colors.

It would be cool if they added some extra dyes when they release this ( some more metallic ones and perhaps a few more pearlescent )

In fact, if I was ZOS, to avoid this I would make possible to dye weapons only with the colour of the various tiers we already have (like dwarven ore for green, calcinium for golden-ish, etc).

We would avoid seeing people with 2h pink trinimac maces, if you know what I mean.

I'd be quite happy with this , as long as i can colour the blade with the silver Iron ore colour, the shafts/hilts on most weapons are usually fine, just the metal parts that take on the hue of the metal used.

I'm indifferent to it honestly. With all the buffs we throw on our weapons (Igneous Weapons, Grim Focus, Evil Hunter, etc) we never really actually see the weapons all that often anyways. The only time we actual see them is if we're standing still to take a screen shot or something and that's not common enough an occurrence for me to care for the weapon color. Also, since Staffs and bows are fairly difficult to see coloration on and I use those fairly often so there's less notice of weapon color.

The only time it's hard to be indifferent about it is when someone has these bright awful colors that stick out of the crowd like a sore thumb that start causing me pain in the retinas.

This question has been asked so often, but I STILL support it, of course! I will until we actually have weapon dyeing in the game.

I can't see that red anymore either, and it also doesn't fit to some of my armor dyes. This looks stupid, really.
I like them better than the dirty-dark purple with dirty-dark green combo from Void items, but the red is just getting too much now since it ends here, it's the last color we get without any change.

So yeah, weapon dyeing seems an apropriate measure to satisfy everyone's taste :)

Agreed... I would like better options for my weapons.

It does not have to be weapon dye though... I'd also take some "gear recrafting" option that might allow us to redo a V16 weapon with lower level material visuals. Make it look like steel and hit like bubedite, that sort of thing... for all those afraid people would make worse looking stuff if allowed to dye their swords bright pink...

Your weapons will die, yes.. But not for many thousands of years depending on how they are stored. Water is the enemy of metal so make sure to oil and polish your sword and store it in a clean dry place free from humidity

They have stated in an eso live like a year ago that they don't want to add dyes to swords because it can be immersion breakung. I.e. people running around with pink weapons. Also, I wonder if it was even possible to dye a steel sword. That may be another consideration they made. Although, I think at least dyeing some aspects of weapons makes sense such as the grip or the qu8vers.

We currently have the same issue we had before armour dye only on a smaller scale that is to say that the metals needed to make the best weapons are limited to one colour and not one often thought of when you think of a sword.

It's been mentioned before in these discussions that the majority of people who dye their armour don't do what you described sure there are a few people who do this and I can see how the whole dye system could annoy people but not weapon dyes specifically.

How is running around with a red bladed sword not Immersion breaking in their eyes?

I just want a Steel/Iron colour to the blade of my V16 Sword, is that too much to ask?

The only option open to me is glass, which is steely looking with touch of green, but i'm stuck with that style when there's so many other styles i'd like to be able to use.

They've said that they won't be doing that. No high level gear with low level design.

Cause that is the color of the material it was made from. Not made and then given that color. Therefore, it 8s a natural color to the material, so immersive.

I don't understand this thinking. As I see it there are two possible scenarios:

    1) People already do this with their armour and dyed weapons won't be any worse.

    2) People don't do this with their armour and there is therefore no reason to assume they would do it with their weapons.

In reality of course it varies between people, but from what I've seen most people try and make their characters look good (admittedly with varying success) and relatively few go out of their way to dye their armour obnoxiously. I really can't see any reason to think it would be any worse if we could dye our weapons too.

As this thread shows it may actually be better because so many people want to be able to dye unrealistic, brightly coloured weapons to look more believable.

Agreed. As well, weapons and what I imagine would be coloured on them are on of the allest pieces you see. A shield is much larger and they have introduced those into the dying system.

As for another comment above how that could be an argument for exactly why not to introduce weapon dying... You mentioned screenshots. That is pretty much exactly why I would like to dye my weapon. For screenshots! Oh, and my peace of mind knowing I match and look good.

If anyone of ESO are reading this please include weapon dyes in ESO. It would be a big change and match up with the rest of the dye system. We already have armor and shields weapons would help alot more! If possible please do this. Alot of players want to see this change happen. We know its been announced and it would be great if it were to be included in the dark brother hood patch or any others. Please consider doing this if you come across this post. I Rp as well and some of the Rp community would like to see this too as well as any other players in ESO.
