I used to use the old version in the sewer tunnels. I would place it behind me on my escape path, poke at the farming zergs with destro resto, string them out as they chased me, and pick them off one or two at a time. That, old clouding swarm, and shade made for a very fun and elusive combination back in the glory days of IC.

That's actually how I originally started using destro staves on mageblade.

it can be fun to use it in pvp, useful for kiting (before they made it visible to enemy players), also place it in an area where oil is being poured

The old version that feared six targets was extremely useful in breaking up small groups in pvp. I would place it on the breaches and drop it through the keep oil grate on to people trying to setup rams which allowed more time for friendly reinforcements to arrive. They should have left it alone it was fine as it was.

It's bad for you, that you ever noticed this, you increased chances that mass hysteria will be nerfed

Is there a typo in the patch notes? The way it's written, sounds like it would be pretty useful in choke points like keep breaches. That's how I use the skill now.

It has some use, I suppose.

Placing 2 traps at a keep breach or in the narrow corridor in IC makes for fairly effective control. Couple this with Volcanic Rune and you can essential CC 10 people in a perfect scenario.
Drop the Elemental Storm morph Frost Destro Ultimate on top of all that and you just get a sickening amount of CC and damage that is just unreal, more so when Oils are being dropped. Then, we get those Vicious Death procs going and it makes me want to vomit at how brainless it's all become. Did that to a group of 12 yellows pushing Dragonclaw while I was solo defending. Between the NPC's negates and the sheer number of CCs going on, they didn't last long.

Open world Pvp, it's useless though

You sum up my thoughts perfectly. The old version of this ability was great, specifically for defending keeps.

When they first changed it, the ability became practically worthless since it was visible to your enemy. It really only had a place in Imperial City where you could sort of zone with the ability in narrow corridors.

The new change coming in pts (increased each rune's fear to 2 targets and they are invisible again) will be fun to utilize but i will still miss the original (shown here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=PNWLCqNNo5g).

When it first came out we were storming into a keep and about 8 nb put this down about 12 of ran back out no negates or aoe was dropped we wiped so it can be used in tight spaces effectively.

Since people run around trees. Place on both sides. Either your the one running or chasing. Also mix with trap beast for lots of invisible Cc's. Especially dueling.

They need to increase the amount of people feared, increase the size of each trap to the old size, and upon detonation make each expand into an aoe the size of desecrated ground that applies a heavy snare and minor vulnerability.

Then remove the snare applied by Mass Hysteria.

Make Manifestation the kiting morph, but also the offensive morph in that it increases damage done to the targets. It's harder to land, but does not take a global cooldown when it procs, making it perfect for baiting people to a trap to jump them, and also for placing defensively and kiting back.

Note that this also gives Manifestation traps some small utility against targets with cc immunity. There's nothing worse, when using that morph, than having a cc immune target waste your trap.

Make Mass Hysteria a defensive morph, in that it pushes people away and debuffs their damage dealt to you, and the morph for breaking block more easily. Its snare has always been a bit excessive in my opinion.

Also make Path apply minor protection to you, but that's just me hoping for a stronger, more usable house. Imagine playing with Path and Manifestation together with these changes. You'd have one stationary aoe making you durable via minor protection and a hot that you don't want to leave, and up to two stationary aoes that lock down the enemy and increase your damage dealt to them which you want to walk the enemy into. That feels like a super cool dynamic to me. Lots of strong mechanics there, but slightly inconcurrent so you have to put a little work into making it all line up.

This would be used in duels and that's it. Mass Hysteria's debuff already lasts almost as long as cc immunity, after which it's reapplied, and Mass Hysteria has the added benefit of affecting multiple targets.

I don't know about you guys... But after the Cwc buff im loving this ability.... I already persuaded all the nb in our PvP group to use this vs Mass Hysteria. It is spook hilerious when your kicking out people of a tower and you cc them on cooldown from range right before charging in, on the other side I play my stamblade very far from meta, (dual swords, 2h) with heavy armor but im loving it, great in duells and great for kiting not to mention castle defense. I don't know why anyone would use the other morph for open PvP especially since it got nerfed and ts morph got buff ed to fear sway a mindboggeling 12 targets total . What do,you guys think of this ability now???

Put it in the trash with " Crystal blast " and a bunch of other morph like " elemental susceptibility"

Close the trash

Now wait for wrobel to open it in order to " Make the choices interresting between manifestation of terror and Mass hysteria by nerfing the useful morph "

But keep the trash near you ! A day you will need to put the second morph in the box !
