When you try to snap an item to a wall it treats it as snapping it to the ground so it causes torches to point down and portraits/lanterns.
First picture is how it should snap onto walls:
Second is how they actually snap onto walls:
[*] It would be nice if pets and mounts could roam a bit instead of standing there like statues.
That would be unnecessary, since you have account-wide houses. To purchase the homes you need specific achievements unlocked on the character performing the purchase.
Litte offtopic.. but we need account wide achievements!
Agreed. It takes the same place as "Housing Editor" after you buy it, so maybe for a similar length of text it should say "Preview Options" or "Preview & Purchase".I haven't had much of an opportunity to dig into housing yet, but initial impressions:
- I previewed a bunch of the homes from the crown store menu. It was very counter-intuitive that you switch between previewing the unfurnished & furnished versions by first using the "buy" option. The wording on the "buy" option should be changed to something like "buy/change preview mode"
That would be good, agreed. When we Hover over an item or Grab it while in House Editor mode, can we get a tooltip somewhere that displays what the item actually is? Like, it would be great to have a name pop up somewhere on the screen when I hover over it, about to grab it.
I couldn't even work out how to close the window. Usually pressing "Alt" will do that, but not this time! There needs to be a keybind prompt for how to close the preview settings. Please bind it to "Alt" or "X", like usual.Even after reading this, it took me a while to figure out that I simply close the window after selecting "Furnished" without hitting any other buttons if I simply wish to preview the home without buying it.
Agreed. The front doors absolutely need to go to the outside of the houses. But you also need a way to go back to where you were. Please consider allowing us to return to our original location via a button located on our screen.
The doors stating we will be let out in front of the house/outdoors should properly lead to the area they say they are leading us to.
If I want to see what the homes look like from the outside, I have to travel to these locations.
Agreed. I saw no intuition behind it either. There were some plans at the Alchemy table, for example, which required Potency Improvement and Metalworking; no mention of Solvent Proficiency at all! But I did use the "All Furnishing Plans" item from the templates, so theoretically I have all the possible options available, so maybe I can make a list of where you go to craft everything (that's going to take forever). It took me a while to figure out how to craft furniture, so for the sake of ease, I was buying them with crowns for atrocious costs of like 400 crowns for a purple quality chair. Apparently, it's from provisioning tables and alchemy tables, which really didn't make sense. Why would I make a wooden table anywhere other than the woodworking station?
Agreed. Or just send the whatever-it-is item in the mail, like the Undaunted Enclave Invitation. The system needs to be easily accessible using the "immersive" routes as well as the UI routes. I also had no idea how to start it without reading the Patch Notes (it's also in the Help Tutorials, but my guess is that nobody reads those either).Oh, you know what housing really needs? An item in the crown store that you buy for free (like the New Life Festival scroll) that's called something like The Tamriel Guide To Home Ownership.

Are you throwing me into the same instance as the other people previewing it?
(Asking based on context?)
Each time a player enters a house it should spin up a new instance, rather than filling up the same one. I can't believe everyone's houses are just layer phases in the same instance? My guess is that it couldn't cope with the number of instances it was being asked to spin up at once, so it wasn't so much that the instance was full, as that it couldn't create new ones fast enough.NewBlacksmurf wrote: »I saw a Dev comment earlier that suggested something like this occurs when the instance is full.I'm getting a lot of "instance full" messages when I try to preview smaller homes.
So it seems on top of the player count in your home, as more and more players use houses the instance fills up.
I hope I'm interpreting it correctly. If not sorry but keep trying to get in until it stops saying full
Agreed. I was really not expecting them all to be put into the same inventory as everything else. (There's over 2000 new items and no new bag space? Ludicrous.) There needs to be a new inventory tab, like Quest Items, where Furnishings can go without taking up space. Or better yet, just send them straight to the Housing Editor and don't put them in the inventory at all, then when it comes to selling/trading the items, add a new top-level tab for Furnishings.WaTeR-aBuSeR wrote: »Furniture should not take up space in inventory. This is an issue to do with the fact that the game tries to send you thousands of "Rewards for the Worthy" mails immediately when you create a template character, due to the sudden drop of 10,000,000 AP into your inventory. I don't think it has anything to do with housing. (Perhaps it would be better if AP came in a bag for template chars, like Tel Var Stones, then they can be ignored.)exiledtyrant wrote: »**BUG**
Noticed my mail count go from 108( which I'm guessing is the limit) to 72 while entering my house. Mail went back up to 108 when leaving. After reading some mail within my house and leaving the mail count remained at the reduced rate of 69 ( I had opened 3 letters). This may lead to players with high mail counts being permanently deleted. May also lead to current mail being almost halved upon entering a house with the potential to lose mail altogether.
** On further examination the mail shortage appears to be triggered by interacting with the house editor. I placed an assistant in my home and then the mail dropped by almost half

******And one last thing, and to me my most important feedback to this thread. My husband and I each plan on using Crowns to buy the furnished houses we want, and although all the house purchase screens displayed the in-game gold price that we can expect to pay, you really need to let those of us who plan on purchasing with Crowns know, IN ADVANCE, how much real life currency we need to save up in order to purchase the house we want when Homestead goes live. I think it would be in everyone's best interest if we could plan ahead, (as the people who will be buying with in-game gold are already doing), so that when it does go live people will have the money to buy Crowns and purchase the house they really wanted. I understand that there might be many people upset with the Crown prices and leave terrible feedback about how much real money it will cost them, but as you can see from the forums, you are already getting feedback from people who are upset with the gold prices of the houses so it wouldn't be a surprise. I just think it's only fair to the people who want to use real money to buy Crowns for the purchase of their house to know what the cost will be.
Please respond. And thank you!
Agreed. Somewhere, before purchase, we need to know:MornaBaine wrote: »Each thumbnail description NEEDS to tell you what the player cap is for that house. We NEED to know how many players the Medium and Small houses hold!
