Missing Characters on PC

I did a long post in the other thread about my troubleshooting. I hope the developers even look at it. I did make a new character, but just to see what happened, I am not expecting to keep her.

It's just that... my husband is out this evening and I thought I could have a nice playing session. Not gonna happen. Sigh.

Im hoping for all DLCs, extra 6 months of ESO plus, 200 of every bag item and an addition 1000 crowns

You better do things you get paid for guys. As a customer I dont really care (and dont have to, let me emphasize that for those players who have a stockholm syndrome) about technical details.
What I care is - when and what will be done if I dont get what's mine.

As much as I've defended the game and its ridiculous down times and unreliable maintenance this is pretty much it for me. I can't defend Zennimax when I log in and ALL of my characters, dlc, and crowns are gone.

Sorry all, was inhaling lunch real quick. We're still reviewing potential fixes, and will provide another update in about 20-30 minutes. Just to reiterate, none of your characters have actually been deleted. We've checked a few player accounts, and they still exist!

please could you really fix your bugs next time and now introduce new bugs by trying to fix the old bugs???!!!

please could you really fix your bugs next time and now introduce new bugs by trying to fix the old bugs???!!!

If you were a programmer, you would know it's pretty impossible.

I created a new character (don't worry you can delete it, her name is actually "you can delete")

1: I only have 500 crowns and I used to have 5,500.
2: I got a boatload of treasure maps in my inventory,.. not sure why.

Will the crowns be fixed too?

Two and a half hours now since first report............ so Monday was four hours, Tuesday was four hours and now today Wednesday so far two and a half.

It is becoming a little tiresome.

I can confirm the characters are still there. When my newly created level 1 troubleshooter character (Black Chocolate) chats, she is marked with the name of the last character I was online with. And my real account and characters still show in the guild roster. (I was able to get my new one invited, I appear there twice now, with different character names. I wonder if I can get enough ghost accounts to get the guild up to 50 members.)

Assuming we're in the backup stage, are we at the recovery stage yet? I assume the DR plan has been tested? there is a DR plan? ah what larks, takes me back. I do hope someone is at least looking to have a sacrificial developer, chicken, goat, virgin ready just in case.

Oh I didn't check that. I also made a new character, not one to keep.

Edit: went and checked. She has 500 crowns as well, and is marked as ESO plus. But her inventory is entirely empty, no treasure maps.

now if you could just look into the fact that FPS now sucks so bad since One Tam dropped that the game becomes impossible for me to play after about 15 minutes as it drops down to single figures (and even the big zero), with the same kind of urgency that you appear to be doing with this, I would be grateful

And if you were a good programmer you would be employing thorough bug testing to make sure your code is foolproof with validation tests.
I cant be arsed to bug test my code....someone else can do that syndrome...is what gets us in this kind of mess.
Nothing else.
So many cowboys around these days.

Working as an IT-admin in ISP company! IF u make backup stable and using raid u will never have problem. This problem can happen if the servers are weak with components this problem can occur and the other problems from past!

Unfortunately, in most cases, companies rent server space and dont have control over the server hardware. I dunno if ESO does this but I have played on games that do and it may save them a few bucks until something like this happens that they cant fix.

Yes I can say that from my experience its always helpful when you are trying to solve a problem for someone to tell you how you could have avoided it in the first place. Anyway I'm sure that theres some server guys and a couple of admins and a few others on it. no doubt theres a service manager running around with hair on fire too, sounds like a typical day where i work.

Not sure if it matters, but I just opened the game through my taskbar shortcut for the game and didn't open the launcher and my characters are all visible.

Ok so I was afk for maybe 2 hours. Before everything was working perfect when I returned I cant log on my account. Before yesterdays update problem with logging on wrong megaserver not even occured once for me but now when it was ,,fixed" none of the option that helped to solve it (switching between megaservers , waiting few inutes before logging in) is not working. God job !!!

Thanks Gina, we feel your pain, no wait, maybe its you feeling our pain ;-). I was just about to head into reapers march for the first time too. Now i'll need to do the ironing or something more boring. Thanks for the updates.

She has 500 crowns, because every new character starts out with 500 crowns bonus from ZOS. And those treasure maps for all alliance factions is from ESO+, if I recall correctly. But just one character on your account gets those treasure maps, not every character.

this did not work for me. i entered the game without the launcher and my characters are still m.i.a.
