Hi everyone,
We're aware of the issue where some of you aren't able to access your characters on PC NA and EU, and are actively working on fixing this. Please note that your characters/accounts have not been deleted, so they're still safe!
We'll provide updates in this thread as we're able.

Will you ever fix this type of problems? ( i mean for the problem that is require maintenance or half of the players to be on forum and waiting for some info that u have fixed in the first half hour not in the past 6 hours)
after One Tamriel i`m only able to play for like 20h till today without problem, before One Tamriel i was playing min 5 hours per day. now you do the math of my eso+ how much i have lost and u always WINEdited by igorludak on October 12, 2016 3:52PM2 -

You realize that Gina is a community manager, here to communicate directly with us. She is not a developer. And she does deserve praise for being informative. Labeling anyone who is positive about anything ZOS does as a paid shill is disingenuous, ignorant and childish.24 -

The fact that our accounts weren't deleted was really easy to assume even without knowing what the hell is going on. Backups are a thing you know?
Good to hear its getting worked on though, however I am quite confused as what could have led to such a glitch.1 -
jaye63✭✭✭✭Yeah... I sent a support ticket in before coming here because I've had bad experiences with other forums. Talk about freakin out! Log in and 7 months of work gone?!? But glad to see it's an ESO issue and that I wasnt hacked.

In the meantime, we're currently restricting you from purchasing crowns on our account page just to ensure purchases remain safe (you'll see the maintenance notice up if you go there).3

ph8te✭✭✭Strangely enough, after creating my new character I got the notification that one of my "disappeared" character's riding lessons were done. And when I used my crafting Addon, I could still see the research all my other characters had done0 -

Working as an IT-admin, I will say that even backups can fail

That's because addon data is saved on your PC and not server side. Addons have no idea that your characters don't exist (at the current moment) so they still read the data that they got related to the character.2 -

Working as an IT-admin in ISP company! IF u make backup stable and using raid u will never have problem. This problem can happen if the servers are weak with components this problem can occur and the other problems from past!
Unfortunately, in most cases, companies rent server space and dont have control over the server hardware. I dunno if ESO does this but I have played on games that do and it may save them a few bucks until something like this happens that they cant fix.0 -

anyone who directly starts via exe that also has these problem? is it probably a good workaround for those who haven't logged in yet (still at work here)?
