Maintenance on ESO Megaservers - 9/14/16 @ 2:00pm EDT [COMPLETE]

I had been experiencing some abnormal lags yesterday, i wonder if in this downtime this will be fixed?

Somehow other MMO devs manage to run their games without 4-8 hours of maintenance every other day. And none do this when it's the prime time. And yeah, i couldn't do this better, and that's one of the reasons i'm not trying to run a mmo.

Warframe knows how this *** works. You get ingame notifications that maintenance has *been* performed, told to stay in your missions and relog when convenient. You log out and back in, the game will patch if necessary and off you go again. No inconvenience to customers ever. So stop saying ZOS is doing a good job with maintenance, they are doing a *** job.

Doing a lousy job would mean they DON'T try to fix issues the moment they arise. Get your priorities straight before you start hating at least.

Speaking of Non-essential comments:
Owning the DLCs would be nice. But, you are missing out on the craft bag which is a major "essential" and a slap in the face to players. It means we could all have infinite storage for crafting. They simply choose not to give it to us. And considering the amount of mats in the game that support all the crafting, we - the players - need this kind of storage.

Honestly Darkness, all we are asking for is a warning....you know the countdown saying the server is going down...you have played this game long enough to notice that they usually give you a countdown right? no, gina even stated they CHOSE to not wait and put up a warning, in an effort to expedite prevention of progression loss. it was a choice made, not an emergency crash. five minutes warning for 2 hrs maintenance when they likely rollback will be to when servers went back up this morning shouldn't have been an issue. mainly so folks didn't get caught in the middle of actions that could glitch like mail, and guild store sales. ect. things that can be lost in limbo land that zos will have to deal with account by account. many of us wouldn't have started that last boss fight oct either, adding to the frustration of a potential rollback. this may have created additional problems that will need fixing vs a 5minutes that wouldn't have affected anyone more than it already has.

:and on a side note... except for scheduled maintenance warnings they NEVER bother to tell us they suddenly need to take the server down for something. last one took several hours and again was something they had to take the server down for NOT and actual server crashing. this is a reoccurring lack of courtesy:

The game is great (PVP balance issues aside), it's not a bad game in fact it's one of my all time fave MMOs.
BUT this time (and I don't normally get annoyed by downtime), this time has annoyed me.

And I think others feel the same.

Oh Reeeaaahhhllllyy, (Ace Ventura voice). Where I work, you have one maybe two major chances, you screw up on a regular basis you are fired, No questions asked. You take the walk of shame to HR and out the door you go. This is from a blue collar worker.

I deal with multi million contracts every day. You you would be surprised at what can kill a contract. To lock out your entire userbase on a weekly basis....

I guess quality testing is beyond their grasp.

You can't quality-test a problem that just comes out of nowhere all of a sudden until you actually TRY to fix it. Also Zenimax cannot quality-test everything on their end, so they need the playerbase to confirm things. It was explained to be this way ages ago on an ESO Live and is very much merited.

Whether they get kicked from the server shutting down or warned and then log off of their own accord, the results are the same. I get people will go wtf but if they know why after it happens they should be saying "oh, ok, no biggie then since you saved us from wasting our time!" instead of "GODDAMMIT ZENIMAX GIVE US PROPER WARNING ABOUT THIS *** YOU *** SCREW-UPS!!"... I mean really.

Gw2 lately screwed up badly. They had to take down servers and there was 1 h of rollback. And it was first time that i witnessed game server going down. I play from launch btw. Not to mention as warframe gw2 doesn't have maintenance at all - you simply get information in game that new version of client is ready

I wouldn't count on it. The rollbacks are the entire reason for this maintenance. If they DO manage to save everyone's progress then that's a damn good job they did with this maintenance!
