Mist form not giving snare immunity properly in some scenarios

    I'm afraid ZoS believes it is, however, working as intended. They intend, for reasons unknown, that gap-closers inflict an automatic and unpurgable snare on the target.

    The reason is when someone uses a gap closer on a fast-moving target, they don't end up in a place the target was standing in one second ago(when the gap closer button was pressed), and out of melee range.

    Imagine trying to gap-close a sprinting orc in medium armor who has major expedition on. You could never touch him. By the time the gap closer animation would finish, he would be 10m away.

    Mist form is broken as described above, I think it is all part of the broken cc in this game, perma CC, can't break free CC even with full stamina, it is a mess and I am sure no easy fix. :(

    Oh, the horror of playing PvP without unpurgable root/snares and where a major buff to mobility might be a thing.

    I know you're being sarcastic, but without functioning gap closers, the PvP would be pretty bad. Can you imagine the forums? "I used a gap closer 8 times in a row and it never connected with this fast-moving guy even once! Your game is broken ZOS!"

    That's the problem, you can't. It is a MMO mechanics thing. If you use a gap closer, the movement order needs a fixed destination. The destination is calculated when you press the button, and is set at the coordinates of your target. But if the gap closer is not instant (and with internet lag, it never is), then when you arrive at the destination, the target isn't there anymore, since he kept moving in meantime. They have to prevent the target from moving for the duration of the gap closer so it can connect. At least it is a snare now, and not a hard root.

    Dude, why are you being facetious? Were you never here before 1.6? From launch through most of 1.5, gap closers had no auto root/snare. Gap closers functioned fine. Everyone complaining about the auto snare's current form knows that it was an auto root throughout 1.6. Despite being a slight improvement over that, the 70% auto snare is still a piece of unadulterated crap that has no place in pvp.

    The new snare on gap closers came with the new superman leap over terrain feature . Before this gap closers ran across the ground and sometimes were interrupted by terrain but no snare was applied . Now this snare is effecting everything including players using a snare immunity ability like mist form .

    Why can any projectiles connect to their target no matter what but a gap closer couldn't ? I understand that between the time the caster uses a gap closer to reach his target and the time the caster reaches his location, the player could already be out of range. But it doesn't change the fact that the target is still the same target and damage, snare and any proc from the gap closer should be applied.

    And the gap closer mini-snare has nothing to do with some bugs I described above like being rooted while in mist form.

    Haha, as described? Sounds like someone missed the Reddit AMA where Wrobel said he didn't want people to have to memorize how their skills work.

    Obviously that means the skills don't have to do what the tooltip says. Mission accomplished.

    Any evasive mist users thinking of dropping it and trying out the new Prisoner's Rags set instead. You could use it with shuffle to get some major mobility and a lich set magicka regen at the same time. Of course you would probably be dropping some other 5 piece set bonus that was offensive so it might not be worth it. I was just thinking how fun it would be to be able to dodge roll shuffle monkey sprint like a stam user AND get some serious magicka regen in the process.

    What is the most annoying in all the bugs is definitely when someone precast an ability on you that is supposed to slow you before you enter mist form and you get the full slow duration during your mist form while you have multiple enemies right behind you. Or when you get affected by a root in mist form and have to cast it again to get out of it.

    Yeah right. Like anyone is going to use gap closers that never hit people. The whole game would become range-only, and melee would become the butt of jokes. As much as the gap closer snare annoys me while im trying to mist form away, i do not think this would make TESO PvP better.

    You mean how the game right now is basically melee only. I too would rather have all the gap closers miss than keep gap closers as they are right now.

    Oh, the horror of playing PvP without unpurgable root/snares and where a major buff to mobility might be a thing.

    I know you're being sarcastic, but without functioning gap closers, the PvP would be pretty bad. Can you imagine the forums? "I used a gap closer 8 times in a row and it never connected with this fast-moving guy even once! Your game is broken ZOS!"

    No, back then when there was actually no root or snare or anything. Like.. almost 2 years ago. How you can defend a broken/lazy/stupid mechanic is simply beyond me.

    ZOS is a business, not a charity. They would not have spent money and manpower to change a mechanic that was working well. The fact they added roots/snares to gap closers without anyone pointing a gun at them means it was needed for gap closers to function properly.

    yea I experienced the same problems with mist form.
    It does not mitigate jesus beam it does not pure snares,ppl can snare u while u use it and sometimes it's totally broken and u get cced and full dmg.
    btw many stam players use it to regenerate stamina while it reduce your mag regen to zero(not fair for magplayers).

    Wrobel does lots of things "without anyone pointing a gun", but no, that doesn't mean they're good things. Someone never took statistics 101.
