Magicka DK needs a serious buff, not a tweak but a buff. Here is why:

    Maybe starting with a change to the "Elder Dragon" passive to provide 5% health instead of health regen could help mDKs a bit, since regen is worthless while being a Vampire (which most mDKs are to gain mobility). 5% health per ability slotted would also indirectly help buffing Draconic Blood and its morphs, if you slot those abilities on your healing bar...

    It also would not totally screw those few regen builds out there and not change the tanky theme of the DK. If they additionally increased the Whip damage by about 20%, we should be fine and not over powered. Some other suggestions here could be over the top leading to nerfs later on.

    Yeah this is basically what I've been asking for for about six months now. Honestly, we really just need 2 and 3. I don't think whip needs a buff... mDKs are usually forced to spec pretty defensively which is why it seems weak.

    Buffing any dots or whip would buff mDK in PvE which is def not something the game needs. The only change I can see is adding a variable to whip that it does x amount of increased dmg to players. But that doesn't follow zos idea of uniform tool tips and dmg.

    Don't know why ZOS keeps dancing around this and avoiding to do the changes that needs to be made. Instead they do wierd changes on other stuff (molten weapons, inferno etc) :/

    One thing I've noticed is that mDK really misses the utility of invasion, now that it's not really viable. Adding a CC to the gap closing chains would consolidate 2 skill slots like we used to be able to do. Wouldn't be a huge buff but would help some. I'm always desperate for 1-2 more skill slots on my DK, much more so than on my NB or Sorc

    i would love invasion back but 1. stam cost is too high to run and 2. so many NBs and melee just in your face spamming gap closers that you can't back away to invasion hence why fozzile is great but a chains with knockdown from any range would be awesome

    Negate already works differently for players than for npcs.

    Empowering Chains working like a magicka shield charge - yes please. Much more useful than what it currently is. But once again, it should actually work in the first place, currently it fails to close the gap FAR too often. Since we're supposed to be healing ourselves with melee skills, why is it that we can't keep ourselves in melee then? WHEN will the devs realize that we DON'T yet have a magicka gap closer because it is WAY too buggy?

    The health regen buff is incredibly weak.

    And as someone said, on magicka dk it really feels like there's never enough slots. We need more effects from single skills. Dodge chance, purge, stun.

    The only way I have been able to think of to buff whip damage without buffing pve is to take the damage added to our rotation from molten whips increased spell damage and reduce it by 30% then add it to flame lash's base value. It will mean that flame lash has a higher base tool tip, but molten whip will be more total damage due to it's increase to everything in the ardent line. Since bosses don't get off balanced powerlash will never proc. That will keep molten whip as the best in slot PvE choice and flame lash as best in slot PvP choice.

    One of the things we want to keep with chains is the root immunity it provides. Not sure what type that would classify it as...teleport?

    Vort had a cool suggestion that empowering chains would set players off balance. That would be really nice with power lash. Or if it just triggered power lash you could use chains and hit an empowered powerlash.

    Lol i totally forgot that one of the morphs of ash cloud was an AoE disorient. Shame for ZoS, they took our utility and make the skill useful for PvE DPS which wasn't need it at all.

    yeah they took all that away and gave use this cinderstorm thinking yeah that wold be great for pvp. Who doesn't love a snare? You know who doesn't love a snare ZOS? Stam builds. Stam builds confirmed do not love snare because they have snare immunity.

    Someone just reminded me but did you guys notice the deep breath nerf? Remember how the exhale was actually strong and did like 5-6k damage because it wasn't hit by battle spirit. Now it's just like a *** version of whip because instead we get a 100% heal of our damage done with the inhale which is cut in half anyways because of battle spirit...... this really explains to me why I used to kill people in bats and now I have a hard time doing it.

    Is reflect working right? I reflected an unblocked focused aim for 3600 damage. Thats like a 2700 focused aim before the 35% damage bonus. That doesn't seem right... 2700 is only 300 damage off from my tooltip damage for base snipe in a magicka build minus Battle spirit.

    Poison injection = 1186 (not the dot)
    Blinding javelin CRIT= 1572
    Crystal frag CRIT = 4,582
    Scourge Harvest heal = 27k Trololol
    Poison injection = 2021 (says tooltip reads 5k and has 11k physical defense and my reflect will hit with 4k penetration. Those values do not seem to add up... I wonder if hardy is double stacking in both directions?)

    Just some of the stuff in my combat log. Tried whispering these AD and DC for Tooltip values but they all ignored me. So many hate tells people think everything is a troll.

    I think a fair way to buff the dk is too buff their utility skills: ash cloud, chains, scales, etc. Also, take battle spirirt off of dragon blood. So pve dds won't be bufed to the point of dominance and pvper's can have more utility. It will be hard to increase damage without breaking the class in pve

    I had a question for my fellow Magicka DKs out there. I have been playing my magDK more lately and noticed that I can no longer use Dragon Leap to leap onto enemies that are outside. (Example: a group front dooring a keep I liked to surprise them by getting to the edge of the keep wall and leaping down) Is this an intended nerf or a screw up on axis restrictions because of the changes to gap closers?

    Well that sucks lol. Nothing was more fun then scaring a group that was ramming a front door by using leap and announcing my presence further with some talons, eruption and inhale...

    My top 5 wish list:

    Inferno/Cauterize - turned into a damaging/healing version of Hurricane.

    Spiked Armor - Turned into a skill that passively buffs mag/stam regen, when activated gives major evasion and expedition.

    Inhale - Each target hit reduces the delay by 10%. At 6 targets would make the delay 1.5 secs rather than 2.5 secs.

    Elder Dragon - Rank 1 Major resolve while any Draconic Power ability is active, Rank 2 also Major Ward while any DP ability is active.

    Derp Dragon's Blood - A decent heal plaz

    Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

    The worst thing about trying to get well deserved buffs for mag DKs is that stam DKs are just so incredibly strong. Any buff to magDKs passives and utility abilities could result in buffing stam DK along the line, which is kinda not so desired.
    Same applies if you look at it from PvP to PvE perspective.

    This is most likely the hardest job balance wise regarding the classes atm.
