[Permabans being lifted] ZOS how are we as a community dealing with exploits/hacking?

iam117✭✭✭i have now canceled my recurring payment as well as my wifes, while not alot, it is 30$ per month revenue. the response from zenimax over this will dictate weather its renewed or not. im really hoping that accounts of hackers are not being unbanned and that progress is moving forward to keep CE from being used and promoted both in game and on the leaderboards. if the company is proactive about this, i will gladly renew, im really hoping this is a witch-hunt that is unfounded, and that the players involved ARE STILL BANNED. but at this point im doubtful, a relative comment from the Z-crew would be much appreciated

Isn't it amazing how 1 person doing this and not getting banned for days emboldened a ton of other players who used this in secret to use it blatantly and openly? This is a game released this year which have a very rough launch and was riddled with bots, they have done more active work in two months than I have seen from ZOS two years. The fact there are so many bots being a separate issue look how often they update people on bans done. I actually decided to stop posting links because there were so many.

✭There ain't too many ways to get a response from ZOS, I figure.
I mean a real response, not some half-baked copy n' paste from a community manager.
Efficient anti-cheats need resources invested.
Only management can untie the purse strings and dedicate those resources.
Thing is, management is real happy 'cause folks are buying tacky 4,000-crowns mounts.
So to prompt a response from top-brass - ZOS's response to cheating needs to be NUKED IN THE MEDIA.
@Turelus @Pomaikai @Ch4mpTW if I'm not mistaken have already mentioned a will and means to do just that.
A scrub like me who cares but ain't got no valuable connections, but is willing to chip in regardless, needs a template message and a distribution list, or something along those lines - I for one will play my part.

This post shows how long the issue has been around, and how outfriggin'rageously disgraceful ZOS's response has been so far.
Further evidence of this can be found at 7:17 into @FENGRUSH's video - where you learn that before the case two weeks ago snowballed into this here forum drama (with no hint whatsoever that it all led to anything beyond words and four-day "permabans"), the most blatant cheaters were issued a mere 8-hour ban for spamming meteors.
So, yeah.
When is enough just gonna be enough?

It's just a thought. Hackers are bad for business. I can guarantee they know that. Yes, it's taking a while but perhaps it's more complex of a fix than originally intended? Again, I don't know. But I just wouldn't be so quick to assume that the sky is falling.
Disabling addons on PC would of been the easiest temporarily fix, but of course no one would of wanted that.
Add-ons read an API for information the cheating is modifying local information to trick the servers. Unless I have missed something else that happened.

✭✭✭✭✭@Arthg I do feel that having bad global press might cause ZOS or the suits in charge (I love how we as a community all just believe this the issue now) to do something but as I mentioned it's a two edged sword. If ZOS fails to handle it fast or not effectively enough then we give the game we love and want to see do well more bad press to push new players away.
I would imagine it would work, but I don't really want to see it done out of fear or what would happen.
There has actually been very little critical media coverage of any kind since the bank bug exploit and whenever another site does cover ESO for any reason it's always a BS generic "we were paid to say this" article.@Turelus - EU PC Megaserver

I remember people asking for them to post monthly banned accounts when the game started. They added a ban section to the "road ahead" for a month then dropped it. Lol road ahead still stuck in traffic.
They really should have a wall of shame or a least report how many bans went out that month. It gives people a reason to believe there is an actual system, and the system is actually working.

I don't think they should name and shame and I do feel that TOS listing names is a little weird, however I really enjoy the way CCP have done it in the past with sexy graphs. Their presentations (videos I linked) were one of my main highlights each time I attended fanfest. They made talking about bans and security fun.
CCP actually once tweeted a picture of the character (GM account) they store all the ISK (gold) taken away from players doing RMT on. It was just a character with trillions of ISK. However no one was outraged that much ISK had been sold/purchased they were laughing and cheering at CCP for having fun with it and getting it out of the game.
I could post in this thread every other post right now because I am so passionate about this issue and have spent most of my MMO gaming life in touch with these kinds of issues in the games I have played, however I am tired of beating my head against the wall (as I said way back in this thread) and going to take a break for the night to play StarFringe Adversus and try to figure out WTF I am doing in that game.

@Tandor links and maybe threads were removed. There was not 100% sure evidence only that one player who had been suspected of using CE because of their vMSA score being so impossible had started logging in again and seen by players on friends lists or in game.
By ZOS forums rules we can't provide any proof of this publicly. Also I am not one who actually is involved in that just the vocal whiny exploit hating guy.
