I actually agree, if this never happened nothing would have changed, and years from now people would still be using the engine low-key.

There will always be people who over-exaggerate things, who jump at excuses like cheating to generally tarnish the names of people playing the game legitimately.

I am personally glad that this is out in the open and being (we hope) dealt with, however, as you said there will always be those who cry 'hacks' or whatever..... only now, they have solid basis for their misguided way of thinking.

I mean, I'm a terribad PVPer who has no business outside of a group, but I have been accused of cheating, prior to this situation, by inexperienced players.... now, if someone thinks I'm cheating, I can only imagine how they feel when they are faced with actual good players.

I'll say this, there are a handful of players that the RNG gods favor far too much if it's to be believed shuffle is working right.

How come I can never reproduce these dodging 8 attacks in a row when I use shuffle, I spent the better part of a month and was unable to reproduce the absurd amount of dodging that goes on.

How come Double Take don't dodge anywhere near as much as shuffle? Even magic builds are using or exploiting shuffle for how stupid it is.

I do know this, Blur is working as intended that's why all nightblades regardless if they are Stam or magic are using shuffle it's for far more then the snare immunity...there is some condition that allows them to dodge more then intended much in the same way a certain EP sorc wearing a seducet outfit was able to keep the Vampire Mist Firm damage reduction active all the time,something to do with channeled skills he once said.

Something is off with shuffle. Or just certain players, no way someone dodges that many attacks without rolling, you would have a better chance of getting struck by lightening sitting on your living room couch. It's far more then just a window of immunity, I tested evade extensively on the 1.6 PTS and so did guys like Ezareth, it never functioned for us anywhere near what you see a handful doing now...it's totally fishy period.

It's called being a Templar dude. The best of all worlds, cloak is bugged to ***, and insane regen isn't a necessity. You get mending and DoT maintenance, plus whatever buffs like shuffle and brutality you can add on from other trees. For sustain setups WB + jabs > surprise attack, unless you're in that gank niche.

There is a reason so many small scale players are re-rolling this class. Your open world upkeep drops by comparison even as a DK, and drops even further with NB and then Sorc.

Believe what you want, but It ain't shuffle dude.

All I know is that to a degree Mr. Wrobel and Mr. Wheeler (and their teams) have been vindicated with all this news breaking finally. The people at ZOS and all their hard work has been subverted by these individuals hacking. Whether or not you want to point your fingers in a million different directions, Wrobel would never attain the ultimate goal of balance in the game with these hackers doing their thing. There is no way Wrobel could have if this SISSY ENGINE allowed sissies to manipulate values and what not.

Kodi is absolutely not a hacker. Just because he can outplay you does not make him a cheater.

Sometimes Kodi's abilities to negate all income dmg and burst down well geared tanks with good skill and or to be able to dodge 15 + incoming attack at once ..sometimes begs for scrutiny .

He does not negate all incoming damage. He has 20% dodge chance like every other person in the game with shuffle. He is just very skilled at recognizing what is coming at him and reacting appropriately. Kodi heals with vigor on cooldown. He keeps up every buff and pops rally when needed. He purifies every dot, he dodges every charged heavy attack and wb. He can burst down other players because he is skilled with understanding the mechanisms of skills and when to use them for damage, resource sustain, and escape. You can see this in his videos. He is an excellent player. Do not try and diminish that because you do not understand or perform at that level.

I did say sometimes... like sometimes the RNG god favors kodi...... a lot

he is a good player but sometimes the stunts kodi pull off are not possible.

And 20% dodge seems low for the amount in of incoming he can dodge without rolling.

Kodi is very good, Kaghei taught him basically everything he knows and Kaghei was a super beast DK. RNG is RNG, everything is possible. I remember wearing Spectre's Eye way back in the early days and it's insane how much you can dodge with 20%. Also, I haven't been active this last patch, but I believe shuffle was bugged wasn't it.

Exactly. If anything this is making me WANT to play the game more! I can't wait to see who has been banned. And I can't wait to see who else falls under the ban hammer. And I'm 100% sure more people than ever are making videos and recording and reporting. I for one am going to start recording (never have before) and when I come across guys like the three my group ran up against at Glade lumber a couple weeks ago (unkillable level 23 healer and his two AD buddies) I will gladly record and send to Jess for review. This will hopefully be the end of the cheater's paradise. And even those guys running the cheat subtly? Don't think you're off the hook because someone who was banned has said Zos told them they could tell he was running the program and for how long. They're coming for you, cheaters. It's only a matter of time.

The thing is though... how do you scan for a change... how ever so small on memory values while at the same time, not causeing even more lag? Or no responce from the server thus kicking you from game ?

Post process or real time, Or system scan..... or impose a hard cap limits on all values and if something breaches that by 1 value.. kick from server.. memory states from client side save to server for analysis?


The program they used is a cookie cutter program... you can mod any memory value with it .. it has been around FOREVER.

or just reply on people sending you videos and such of funny stuff and finally bann them a year later....

Making excuses for poor gameplay will always result in poor gameplay. That is why you are who you are.

PS: And he doesn't do everything right in every circumstance. He messes up, dies and gets aggravated all the time, just like everyone in Cyrodiil. But he learns from it. And perhaps, if it's so unbelievable to you, maybe you should consider the level of skill with which you operate. He may just have better luck at maneuvering in combat since he can actually see his character and isn't neck deep in a zerg like you.

Exactly. If anything this is making me WANT to play the game more! I can't wait to see who has been banned. And I can't wait to see who else falls under the ban hammer. And I'm 100% sure more people than ever are making videos and recording and reporting. I for one am going to start recording (never have before) and when I come across guys like the three my group ran up against at Glade lumber a couple weeks ago (unkillable level 23 healer and his two AD buddies) I will gladly record and send to Jess for review. This will hopefully be the end of the cheater's paradise. And even those guys running the cheat subtly? Don't think you're off the hook because someone who was banned has said Zos told them they could tell he was running the program and for how long. They're coming for you, cheaters. It's only a matter of time.

I hope this is real and not smoke. I hope ZOS annihilates these digital thugs with prejudice.

Then hand their character names over to me so i can make great stories.

Or just post a list.. for once ZOS show us your kill record... and rejoice on it ..

In the large thread about this in the general forum. Jessica Folsom has a response that states as of the time of the writing ZOS has permanently banned 43 individuals. Changed the way certain cheats are checked for and caught. And working on larger more broad changes to clean this all up.

Supposedly ZOS is going to speak more on whats going on with this specific topic with everyone tomorrow.

I can see both sides of this argument.

ZOS side: what those cheaters did ruined the enjoyment of many players and violated terms. Not only that, it also hurt the reputation of the game and now everyone knows what program they can use to cheat. I have found myself tempted to give it a try in some PvE. (Especially after seeing so may people's vMA builds that suggest to do it using Maelstrom arena weapons. So, my build should include time travel?)

Cheater side: cheating issues only get attention when they have a major, obvious impact on the game and lot's of people are currently getting away with hard to prove cheating. ZOS might have been thinking that it is too expensive to fix the cheating situation and the ult spammers felt that the game was being ruined by the subtle cheaters so they decided to make it that ZOS was forced to deal with the problem. At the very least, maybe they would pay more attention to reports about people doing seemingly impossible things.

Sorry my good man, but cheating is an issue because the chump behind the keyboard makes the decision to cheat.

ESO could have all the holes in its code to allow cheating. if 100% of its player base did not cheat because THE PLAYER THEMSELVES made the choice not to cheat, well then, cheating wouldn't be an issue.

I love how some players doing something bad justifies everyone's actions. So lemme get this straight, if I 1vX anyone from now on I'm considered a hacking cheater? I may not be as good at it as Kodi and others but you can't throw everyone under the same category as others because you get out played. Get over yourself.

I said nothing of the sort Drake. I actually haven't blamed or pointed the finger, or called out anyone's name that hasn't been found guilty of cheating by ZOS.

When ZOS labels you a cheater then I can say that. Not before I don't.

Making excuses for poor gameplay will always result in poor gameplay. That is why you are who you are.

PS: And he doesn't do everything right in every circumstance. He messes up, dies and gets aggravated all the time, just like everyone in Cyrodiil. But he learns from it. And perhaps, if it's so unbelievable to you, maybe you should consider the level of skill with which you operate. He may just have better luck at maneuvering in combat since he can actually see his character and isn't neck deep in a zerg like you.

also a returning player. wouldnt consider myself elite eso player. but in all the mmos ive played, ive never seen such blatant cheating and exploiting with no consequence. its mindblowing that it continues with no effort to stamp it out. and confirms that once the devs have your money, they simply do not give a *** about your in game experience. shame. *** shame

I don't know how many times I have to scream at EP to bloody report these people. I believe last night at Chalman mine someone was spamming Meteor (thanks to crappy computer and lag, could only hear ultimates go off) and soon stopped when I fuccing screamed in zone chat to report such people.

Agree here. "He's cheating so I'm going to cheat," is the worst mentality I've ever heard.

At a more philosophical level: I competed at a high level in college sports. I watched players cheat. I watched players cheat me, my teammates, and others with wrong scores, 'missed' calls and whatnot. You know what I could do about it? Nothing. Should I then cheat? Hell no. My coach would scream at us, "Quit whining you *** *** and get better! I don't care if he's cheating. Play the game, stay focused, and don't get mad." The other player gains nothing by cheating.

He is an excellent player. Do not try and diminish that because you do not understand or perform at that level.

and his wrecking blow spam is just a little faster than normal.

Ok a guy who somehow dodges attacks from 15 players at a time for duration, has a wrecking blow that seems faster than possible, a guy who can outrun you when you are a max speed, and who NEVER runs out of resources....

That's legit!

He's probably the most egregious of you all with it.
