Personally, the constant changing of skills is the worst part of this game. If they are going to do something so annoying, at least give a handout. I have never thought, "oh, I am so happy they changed this skill this way." My response to skill changes has mostly been, "dang, I'm dying now, what did ZOS do this time?"

I accept the nonsense because, according to what others have posted, this is apparently something that happens in MMOs. It is also what most turns me off about the game.

I don't get why it's all or nothing deal with respect either. Why can't you just redistribute like champ points? Say I only have one or two skills I want to change,it's even all or nothing with the morphs as well.

The only reason it is like that is that they didn't code it that way. It would be nice if they rewrote the skills UI to be more like the CP UI in terms of being able to make changes and committing them all at once.

We were discussing our opinions on whether it should be free. I dont work for ZOS so my opinion doesnt mean squat.

How about this? You log in first time after the launch of a DLC and a window pops up asking if you want to redistribute your skill/champion points. You click YES or NO.

Patch Notes for DB are already 50 screens of info and growing. There are many, many changes and additions. You may not be ready to redistribute all those points when you first log back in to the server. You may have to experiment, see how badly your skills were nerfed/changed. See how powerful poisons are. Play with stuff for a couple of days or a week. I've read the notes, been on PTS for a week now and I'm still figuring some of this out.

Just give us a scroll for each character. Bind it to that account so it can't be sold. So simple.

I for one have like a max of 20k gold at all times due to the fact I only PvP and dont touch upon PvE. All the gold that I earn is spent towards pots (barely can afford them) gear and whatnot. When TG hit I had 15k gold all of which was going to be spent for gear but instead I was forced to use that on a respec.

With all the changes coming, I'd rather them reset all of my skill points. It doesn't make sense to pay 75k to respec all of my toons, simply because ZoS changed a few of my skills.

When that update becomes live, they should do one of either:

1. Reset our morphs (if I'm right, it's the morphs that are mainly being affected)

2. Reset all our skill points (just in case)

As for attributes, I couldn't say.

They already said they arent doing this. We are discussing what they can do outside of that.

Google how to make money in ESO. I dont have time to explain it. Fact is you can make enough in less than a day to respec your character even if its maxxed out. I see people say 50k now 75k before long you guys will claim its 100k lol. I dont see why a discounted shrine would be so horrible.

No because free = forced. If they send a respec scroll free fine. if they make respec scrolls free for a week fine. Dont reset all my points if I dont ask for it. Its not that I care if people get free respecs. hell I think you should be able to respec for free once a week or something all the time.

What I dont want is to have to redo characters that were not affected by the changes with DB.

They said they would make respec with major changes available again when the could find a way to make it optional as I recall.

In lieu of mass mailing scrolls why not create a collectible similar to the anniversary cake, a special scroll if you will,
that could be left in player collectibles and made active for a period of time after major game changes?
You would use it if you want or not.

Because we got stuck paying for the last time because of people like you telling us it's not necessary to remoph our characters despite the game changing stuff that I picked a long time ago.

And don't tell me that me I'm just looking for a free handout from ZoS. Even though this is the "stamina" update, ZoS is changing my magicka templar enough that I do need different skill morphs and CPs changes: my magicka ritual skill is changing to include a DoT (and loses cleanses), one of my magicka skills is getting changed so I won't be using it (prox det) and thus no need to consider CPs there, and harness magicka is going on my bar now and thus need bastion.

This is a very good point. Sweeping changes to the game should be made as a result of trying to balance and improve the gaming experience. There should not be a motivation created to change underlying game systems purely for the purpose of generating money, and that's what sweeping changes will do, as they are offered on the crown store. This is precisely why I refuse to ever buy the respecs on the crown store because I'm fundamentally opposed to that concept: It promotes bad motivations for the developers, regardless of their good intentions.

Pretty sure it isn't the same players complaining. I never wanted them to stop the free respecs from coming, because I know from experience how bad it is not to get it, particularly in a game where they sell you respecs for real life cash. Its a bad motivator, and I've ALWAYS been against it. My position has never changed here. I dare say anyone with my hardline perspective on this has likewise never changed in view. I do suspect however that a lot of players regret whining about their free respecs.
