You know it's sort of funny hearing all these conspiracies as well. I for one was leading a group last night coordinating with the other large EP group... We pushed roe, fare, roe again, all the while I saw little yellow and blue swords at nickel. I even commented in ts that DC couldn't seem to get past roe farm last night. And, in a surprising twist of events, chal was solo flagged by a very vocal DC player so we pulled off pushing AD to make sure chal was clear. But hey, I must have been leading some part of ep that doesn't actually exist according to the fantasy version of BwB people have in this forum.. Because we hit AD last night.. Over and over.. I'm also friends with @Celestial_Rift and I helped lead her dethrone some weeks back.

Honestly can we quit it with the conspiracy theories? Every faction has some good leads, some more than others, but I guarantee you every time some Zerg snowballs onto the wrong side of the map it's because they're hive mind pugs. I've railed on EP for hitting Alessia or camping sej when DC has emp or scrolls, and I've railed on them for pushing bleaks when AD has emp or scrolls. You can't control the behavior of everyone, and I can't speak to whether this faction or that has more glue eating pugs than EP but the multicolor alliance talk just seems like a waste of time. Don't forget to take a step back and realize that each faction isn't a conglomerate mass and therefore it cannot always be controlled when people make stupid decisions in pushing. I'm just sick of seeing EP *** on on here, we know ep sucks, I'll be loyal to EP until I quit the game and I'll try my damnest to help pull them out of the gutter but don't pretend we have no presence in bwb.

Also... I expect my friends on different factions to do what's best for their team, not for their friends... So I would expect nothing more because if you were Emp, I'd still dethrone you.

I don't have a problem with it but I have a problem when people trash talk folks who do it and then do the same

Wow it doesn't surprise me in the least seems many never bother even using gold or ap to buy seige so no surprise that 3/4 of all walls in Cyrodill need fixing . such nasty infrastructure

That flag was an accident. I was on that side of the map fighting some EP 1/2 the night. I went to chal to prep it for later, but it got flagged. It is @W0lf_z13 fault, he left me alone way too long last night.

I personally feel they should have a better system. Who wants to repair walls all week long to be Emp? I wish the Emp achievement was based on something else. However, I hope they don't change it till after I get the achievement.

Maybe when I get Emp ( which may never happen ) we can have a Kill Empress Emily contest.

I've talked with a lot of people regarding "what it takes to be emp." Some of the things we've discussed is that people don't normally have a problem with those who repair if they at least are doing other things at the same time (leading/running with groups, helping out people, being nice, etc.). The concern that I've heard is the example of having two people trying to go for emp, and one person is leading a group receiving minimal AP, and the other person is only repairing walls, people become salty. I love to use the Little Red Hen scenario, where some help to make the bread, and others just want to eat it.

As I've shared with my friends, pushing for emp isn't just about being #1 on the boards... it's about your faction wanting to push for you also. Sometimes they push just because they like their #1, sometimes they push from boredom, and sometimes they don't because they either don't like the person or the campaign against them held up. (Not talking about actually getting emp... I'm talking about the faction actively pushing for it)

When I was Emp, I made sure to thank the zone immensely, as it just wasn't my friends who did it, but everyone. It's something I didn't take for granted and will continue to appreciate in the future if I ever become Emp again (which means I would need another vacation).

One thing I really dislike is when someone new comes to BwB with tons of AP then runs for Emp. Before you can blink an eye the person is so far ahead that people don't even try for it.

I would rather crown the people I know that support DC, the ones that are there everyday. Some of people have jobs and won't even run for Emp but they deserve it more than most.

No I am not talking about myself, I know I deserve it To bad you couldn't get emp and then pass along the achievement showing your appreciation for others that don't have the time to do it.

I've only repaired walls at keeps I was already at for pvp purposes and I have emp'd many times. I don't believe repairing walls is even a factor in gaining emp. You get around 60ap per fix w/ the ap buff, it would take you 1,000 repairs just for 60k ap and it would take maybe a day or two to find that many damaged walls that other people haven't repaired.

It's one of the least productive ways to gain ap, but sure if you wanna repair for ap you are helping your faction and deserve the ap you gain doing it.

I don't think you can emp by just repping walls and staying for d-ticks. I'm not friends with Maicon, but that's certainly not the only thing he did. I saw him sieging, defending alongside with the regulars pretty much every day last week. I think you are all making excuses just because you don't like the guy.
Also, you don't have to lead a group to help your faction. I know a couple of good players from the other factions that solo-play most of the time and are usually in the top of the leaderboard, Outlaw is one example. Some of the same people that criticize Maicon said Outlaw would be a great emp.
Now, what I think it's outrageous is some AD'ers saying: "let DC take Roe, don't defend it, our emp needs to be dethroned... he's an ****".

They tried to do the same thing with me when I was on AD. I was in the lead in my first campaign in this game when I just started playing and two of the major guilds wanted me to let their member(s) pass me. They told me they wouldn't help me emp if I didn't, etc.

I ofc told them to go kick rocks and got together a pug one night which took 5/6 emp keeps. They then told me something like "okay we will help you emp if you drop the campaign when you emp and let our guy get emp". I again told them to go kick rocks and took the keep myself with a pug (funny how they made the second "deal" after the pug I was running got it down to 1 keep).

From then on they spammed zone chat for no one to help defend emp keeps, let me get dethroned, etc. (That is the real reason the drama between AD and I started btw. Not sure what tales they twist over there, but that's what actually happened). Dixon and Byte were the only people to help me defend my emp and we sure as heck went down swinging (pretty epic 2hr long battle at Alessia). Though we aren't friendly now, at least I can say he did what was best for the faction.

As much as the few vocal AD members try to talk about unity in AD, etc, it's only like that if those running the major AD guilds are getting their way. Childish nonsense, best thing I did was move to DC.

The thing about repairing is that it's a steady fix of AP. While someone else is looking for a fight in an off-hour you can make approximately 30k AP/hour repairing. It's not cost-efficient, but it's a good way for someone to bridge the gap between off-hour times and primetime when AP is easy to come by. Between keep upgrades and sieges, it isn't hard to find an enormous number of walls to repair.

That said, I have only repaired a fair amount on my first emp (I had to race @DeadlyRecluse ), and the vast majority of my AP (I think almost 1 million prior to the AP changes) came from solo play. My second and third emps I only repaired at relevant defenses/after takes. I don't have a problem with repair emps, but I do have a problem with someone repairing in order to maintain emp when they know a fellow guild member is pushing and is holding second place. To me, that's selfish. I've dropped to avoid re-emping so that another person could emp, and I would willingly do that again for a friend - or even just someone considerate and polite.

And @Celestial_Rift is on point - I've never crowned because of just my actions. I owed it to the AD zone guilds and the people that joined them. I was lucky enough to have their support a couple times and they fought like hell to get me emps and then hold it with me.

Nobody reasonable is calling having friends or being social with people in other alliances a conspiracy. I don't think people wanting to cooperate with another alliance at times as a bad thing. People will play the game however they enjoy it best.

Folks, can we not derail this thread with hyperbole? Things like repair-emp ethics are a lot more titillating - thanks, @skepticalfox .

People asked you to drop after offering you their campaign rewards to make up for what you would miss after you got emp - at least that's the narrative I've heard from 6-7 people in those major zone guilds.

Saying that you told people to kick rocks is a very generous way to describe the things you said in AD zone before your departure.

That's all I'll say in this thread on that topic. Don't interpret this as some personal attack, but I do feel that it's fair to set the narrative straight.

Meh. I don't personally mind wall-reppers. I just can't stand the mind-numbing task of repairing walls. Every emp I got was from nothing but kills and ticks as my attention span is rather short and all I want to do is murder things. Sure id put 5 wall reps in just to show my contribution but 95% of my AP went into siege because at the time, my guild was the only freaking one capable of laying them down at keeps. As long as they intend to use emperorship for the benefit of the faction, I dont object to any non-exploitational methods.
Funny story though, I used to log out and tell people to go for scrolls instead of pushing for emp because I would (believe it or not) unintentionally be in 1st place all the time from all of the kills. I once logged off telling my guildies in ts that I was going to play Smite or something like that so it would encourage the pugs not to push and I get a poke an hour later saying "lel you got crowned again". I was so upset that night that I didnt log in until morning. Nothing will ever separate me from my beauty sleep after my first emp.

We said we were going to stop the drama between us and I specifically left your name out in honor of that. Please just stop... especially when you were one of the most vocal in telling people not to defend my emp because you were mad I didn't step down for your friend. The narrative you claim to have heard from 6-7 people in those major zone guilds = the narrative you are spinning for your friend and guild member. I could go on about what he really said but I prefer not to get suspended for naming and shaming.
