BDO has better optimization than ESO and has the benefit of being in beta for over a year in Korea, Japan and Russia to iron out any bugs. I played the Japanese client and had hardly any lag in North America.

I rather meant the performance (fps) than the lag, sorry wasn´t that clear about it.

If this is an old patch or something my apologies but I didn´t find any videos with a bit bigger fights and good performance.
I mean i need something between now and CU release anyway so I´ll give BDO a try at least.
It's better to have some answers than nothing at all . See loading screens, took 3 months but they got it right... I really hope we will see an improvement, the PVP would be really better.
Much like Camelot Unchained. It's barely more than a tech demo but apparently that's enough. If they do not fix this stuff pre-BDO release then well RIP the game for good. And I am not confident they will
I feel like bdo shares a lot with archage in that regard. Insane expectations not backed up by the material actually available. Only looking at what´s shown i honestly have no idea why i would/should buy that game ._.

The exciting part about CU isn't the current tech alpha game play, or any screenshots/videos of the game, it's the track record of the devs in previous games, their visions for the way PvP will/should play in the game, and the fact that they're building a game specifically for the hardcore AvA community.

Honestly, I really hope they get rid of that placement for guild, rank, name, whatever it is. When in large groups and especially in pvp that really muddies up the entire screen.

only similarity with archeage there might be the cash shop - WHICH WE DONT KNOW nothing about, just that they have removed some strong p2w items - that we know (i wld give u a source, but u wld just get redirected to main forum, its broken atm), but nothing else.
Other then that, it doesnt share anything with AA...
I just meant the general approach people have about the game: Being overly optimistic/enthusiastic bc they´re unhappy with their current game.
Like i said by the information openly available (not promises or sth else) i have no idea what about that game would be interesting.
oh yea, hype is real ... like with every new game .... wait for CU that will be the true HYPE train.
I watched a bunch of videos about BDO. I actually thought it looked like crap.
Also, I read the comments Teargrants posted just about when they had posted them. I'll believe it when I see it.

Yap, that really annoyed me in the vids about BDO.. too much visible stuff no one needs. Special Effects everywhere and on top of that so much information like guilds etc. no one cares about. Hope you can disable it.
Anyway I´ll bet my money on CU since it has the highest chance to be a great pvp game, but will probably spend some weeks in BDO to kill waiting time.
Can imagine that this game is fun in smallscale, but you see how much smallscale happens in eso, so yeah get ready..

TY OP for post/link.
Love the logic however, the forums only constitute a very small minority of the playerbase, most ingame do not have a clue of what is happening, and then they go and post something like this on Reddit where a arguably even smaller portion of playerbase are gonna go check.
*shakes of head*
But hope finally stuff actually starts happening now.
Thanks for the info. You're right, I never saw this. I don't know what a "reddit" is, but that information belongs on the official ESO forums. I didn't create an account just to read salty comments, I wanted to see updates from the staff at ZOS. Seems now I have to sign up to some BS third-party website. Wtf.

There may be less active TESO players on Reddit but Reddit itself is the biggest, most valuable and promising place to post interesting changes like that from a business and marketing point. Thanks for the info. If you don't know what Reddit is, I would be embarrassed at this point, no offense.

True, but regardless of Reddit, all intel regarding the game should be on these forums first, then trickled down to Reddit and everything else, IMO.
Reddit deals with a lot, ESO forums deals with the game, intel should be here first.

More empty promises... well atleast they are sticking through thier business model of lie through thier teeth and the phrase we all know and love "We are working on it" pffft lol yeah right. If they spent half as much time working on it as they do saying they are working on it then this game may have had a hope.. CU beta and im outs here
DK SCRUB OUT
I'm just gonna say it.
CU looks terrible.
No hope for PVPers in the next 2-3 years...
I'm also following Crowfall because they plan to implement collision detection in PvP, but both CU and Crowfall seem to be way below AAA standards. I'm not getting my hopes up for any of them.

This [reducing the lag in Cyrodiil] is our #1 PvP-focused dev effort right now. As an active (but really terrible) PvP player, I too run into this problem far too often. It's a complicated one with lots of different factors joining together to degrade performance - i.e. it's not easy, which explains why we haven't addressed it yet. We are working on a fix now involving our physics engine, and we're confident that we can dramatically improve performance, but that's the kind of thing that can introduce new problems if not done properly, so we are being very careful and not rushing it. You should hear a lot more about this after the dust settles from Osrinium launch.
Good thing I decided to sift through random stuff on Reddit, or I'd never have seen this, I'm gona go out on a crazy limb and guess most ppl haven't seen this either. What with Reddit not being an official ESO forum and all...

64 Bit client is planned for the Q1 Update (i.e. the next big one). Mac users will see dramatic performance increase when we do this, as well as 64-but windows users. My main gaming machine is Windows, but I'm on the road enough with my Macbook Pro 13 retina that I definitely know what you are talking about.

Improving the PvP experience is definitely a priority. Our focus currently is improving the server performance. We're also working on some new things to spend AP on as well as adding some new things to Cyrodiil.

Why don't they just post this stuff on the forums?ZOS_JaredCarr 7 points 3 days ago
We are currently optimizing our DX11 code, and working on other graphics optimizations that we hope to have wrapped up early 2016. Once that work is complete we will be looking more closely at DX12 support, but I can't make any promises at this stage.
