People who have lots of CP and sitting at the top of the leaderboards will still be at the top of the leaderboards.
Why? Because of the very thing that got them lot's of CP, they play a lot!
So other than restricting players from playing they will always be ahead you all need to understand this fact.

Also I don't understand why accomadating the game to better suit casuals/new players is a stupid decision. Most of the time casuals are the ones who have a job and wife and kids ( which means lots of $$). Making a good buisness decision is not stupid it's actually pretty smart. This might be a game but make no mistake it's still a buisness. U lose casuals who pay $$/ fail to attract new players means no $$ to keep making new content/updates which means eso dies and this is bad for all of us. So nth about this is stupid.....yeah losing hardcore loyal fans is painful but catering to maybe 5% of ur potential customer base would be the stupid move. Having said this I would like to point out I play 3 hours a day but I do understand the need to cater to those who can only play maybe an hour or so a day or even less. They are the ones more likely to spend $$ on things to speed up their progress etc so it's natural that the game would cater more to them...

Ok maybe you didn't read my post right, but I gave them credit for thinking in terms of business. Yes it's a smart decision to appeal to casuals, but that's not stopping me from calling it a stupid decision. Just like I can respect your opinion, I'm not obligated to like it or you.

"It's a smart decision to appeal to casuals but that's not stopping you from calling it stupid"....... That's like me saying this is black but I'm going to call it white. Also my post was not directed at you but since you pointed me out to your post I read through it and I still don't see your point. We shouldn't be rewarding people for mindless zombie grinding in the first place. Also I'm very open to them making a no cp campiagn and a cp on one so no one gets affected. That way all the hardcores can go to the "hardcore campiagn" and make no mistake. There would probably be a grand total of around 30 people in this campaign and then you will realise why catering to casuals is not just a smart buisness decision but a smart one in any sense.

Pretty sure people get that. I wish those that were opposed to a cap would get that.

Well all I know is that I've been to PTS a day ago and when I made myself a new char, I noticed that there are only 300cp available for spending.
Today we make our stand. Today we take back the Ruby Throne, which is ours by ancient right and the blessings of the Divines.

Well I am one of those people, my point is the cap won't make any difference as matter of fact some of those
same people were always at the top even before the champion system was released.

Cool, so a cap doesn't matter then. Awesome. Why all the fuss?

No fuss at all for me at less than 300 CP but some of my friends have more CP than I do and would hate to see them held back because
of the mistaken thought that lower or no CPs will make everyone on equal footing, because it won't.

OK, so again I'll ask, why does it matter then? What are your friends being "held back" from then?

i hope they DO put the cap at 250
ive been here since beta and i only have about 230 CP right now, and i played every single day since beta 2+ years ago.

I started in Beta as well. I play the kind of game where I am not compulsive to rush to maximum power. I was away from the game for 9 months though. came back a month ago. I don't even have 100 CP. BUT, I think the cap should be at 600 CP. That is the number that seems the most fair to me.

Advancing their character the whole point of playing a competitive game.
What is the point of not advancing your character build, proving you can mash a button faster?
Got to run just got into my PvP campaign where no one actually talks about CP except when they earn one.

AHHH A competitive game. Being so super powerful you can kill a dozen other players without a sweat. That's competitive? You want competition bro? Take me on with the same number of CP points.

yea lets do naked duels without skills.
Think he ment advancing is core of every mmo. no progress = no sense. If i want pure competition i would go and play sc2 or something.

Grinding CP is advancing then. Cool I guess. Still not sure why a 600 CP cap isn't sufficient for now though.

The only thing that is limited with a CP cap you can still have worked for better gear.

Any MMO that requires you to eat hotpockets, drink red bull and wear a diaper to stay "Competitive" is doomed to fail.
I am glad to see this change!

Never did grinding for cp, sitting at almost 400. 300 cap would be a massive insult.

I see you are of the mind set that actually believes when there are no CP you won't get rektd.
You are in for a big surprise.

My vote is for a 600 CP cap. I would be disappointed (not insulted) if I were you too.

Any cap is a slap in the face of those who have put in the time to grind, grind, and more grind to get the CP they have. If I loose CP because of the whiners and complainers I will most likely move on from this game. It is a constent NERF fest. If you want to be at the top you have to put in the time. If you do not put in the time then why should you expect to be at the same level.

Again if a person has actually done something that I could not that took thinking and skill to achieve like geared themselves to get an advantage over me fine so be it.

But as it stands now..... All you have to do is run around in a circle and press 4 buttons for hours at a time. That is not my kind of advantage. I understand that "Putting in the time" should mean something, but how can you sit there and say nolyfing a game is a great future for competitive play?

Let me work for gear... Let me work for skill unlocks, but do not make me run an I.V drip of energy drinks and wear a diaper to stay competitive.. Sorry that system will never be successful for any MMO that wants to survive longer than a year.

You might want to quit now then because the cap is happening... It was announced already. This topic is just people trying to find out what the cap will be.

Nothing we can do about it.. Cap is confirmed you are late to the party I think. :|

This is very true to an extent, SypherPK has less CP than me and is far better. But that is a difference of about 40
