I hope Orsinium lives up to the Elder Scrolls name and provides us with a satisfying solo experience. The two public dungeons described so far sound interesting both for solo and small group players, but knowing ZOS they'll somehow turn it into a circular farmfest not unlike a certain public dungeon under a certain city.

Oh, as a side note, as much as I appreciate solo play, don't forget to throw in a few new group dungeons to keep the group-or-die crowd quiet ZOS. Horrible drop rates optional.

Guy's plz, you have to bring a new trial!

    We wait so long time!!

There will be no Trial in Orsinium. It was said by @Mursa (dungeon lead) in ESO Live 2 weeks ago and confirmed for me in Twitch Chat by @ZOS_JessicaFolsom . But they are working on a Trial for a DLC after Orsinium.

Well any excitement I had for this DLC just vanished.
Couldn't agree more. Kinda gets boring when you've already farmed every single monster helm in the game. This will probably get thrown on the back burner the moment I finish the main story and I'll prolly wander off and grind yet another toon to v16.

Come on ZoS, at least give us another veteran dungeon that isn't just a veteran reskin of its normal version (*cough*ICP & WGT*cough*)

It's called an MMO for a reason. Think about it. The only reason raid guilds are dying is because they've run through AA HRC and SO enough times to cover the solo carebears that are too afraid to run them, and ZOS refuses to give them another reason to continue running them.

You know the funniest part of your post, you were probably one of those people telling PvEers to stop crying when IC was announce/released and now you're the one crying because this solo content only caters, to well, and using your term "carebears". Like we got told umpteen dozen times in the lead up to IC "DEAL WITH IT". you have your PvP dlc, time to let the rest of us get our content. If you want raids, ask for raids or whatnot to be added to IC.

DLC for solo players? ZOS, why you even follow their interests?

Probably because they realize that solo PvE players ARE the majority player of ESO. It really doesn't take rocket science to figure this out, or maybe it does... but based upon comments I've read in this and other ESO forums, most players talk about wanting more solo PvE content. Figure that, most of the players here in ESO are Skyrim single-player gamers, and ZOS knows this- and I'm sure from their own datamining, they know what content is played more, how many players are grouping, etc.

Or complain that they cannot solo the content of a **multiplayer** game

I think you missed this part, " is a multiplayer video game which is capable of supporting large numbers of players simultaneously." Exactly WHERE in this do you see "group content" or "must group"? You don't. You see, the OLD SCHOOL meaning of an MMO involved forced grouping, but the NEW meaning of MMO means that a massive amount of people are playing the same game at the same time- it no longer means exclusively "group content". Lest not forget that back when MMOs first debuted, it was dominated by the PC crowd and the internet was not so widely available... fast forward to today, and ALL consoles have internet accessibility and most people have internet access... this means that a HUGE number of single player gamers are looking for online game-play, not necessary GROUP game-play. Think of it this way, who wouldn't want to be able to play a game which is constantly updated, constantly adding new material, and has long-term playability? Why should this only be available to GROUP players?!?

Have to admit, that's probably true. Although I'm not sure it still would be if they had a decent grouping tool.
Maybe they'll finally get that fixed as this solo content comes out. It would make ZOSense lol.

I just hope that the new gear sets don't make the v16 sets that we just got obsolete

You do realize this is an MMO right? In almost all other MMOs, a new DLC renders previous DLC's gear obsolete... hence the 'grind' of an MMO.

In regards to Orsinium... they say that this DLC will be available "regardless of level", it sounds like an entire DLC that scales to your level, which is awesome. Hopefully they add new mats and crafted sets in this DLC so players who didn't run IC can craft VR15/16 gear and now have to rely on drops.

Yeah, and in other MMOs DLCs come around every other year. Not every 3-4 months as ZOS is claiming. These DLCs arent even true DLCs as theyre simply unlocking different portions of the map like puzzle pieces where as other MMO DLCs will add entire continents and regions as well as plethora of other changes and additions to the game.

They dwindle in number because they leave the game. Not a good outcome for anyone. Loss of revenue for the game means less development revenue for the remaining. As a player, I would want people to stay. Raiding is part of mmorpg, and should be. What is the point on the MMO part if we only do 4 man groups?

Nah, I've played more hours in MMOs than I have single player RPGs and I consider myself more of a solo player when it comes to PvE. I enjoy groups more for PvP activities and sometimes I can get into solo PvP, but I can only tolerate group PvE for so long. I have far more fun doing solo PvE where I can go at my own pace and smell the roses and challenge myself in various ways when I'm in the mood for a challenge. It was torturous for me to get 2 characters to Undaunted rank 9 in this game.

The solo arena is just the sort of thing I'm looking for. I bet there are plenty of other people who consider themselves an MMO player with a style not so dissimilar to my own.

Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...

This... so much this. The bulk of all the content should be soloable BUT you need content to appease all players. Releasing DLC's on a rotation is not a good idea imo. You will lose players with every DLC that may not come back for the next one. There is no reason that they can't add a trial, give the pvp'ers a little love (arena, BG,... anything), and have an entire zone of content catered to the solo skyrimmers.

solo players come and go, raiding guilds tend to stick around a little longer and actually buy the content, especially when you offer raids each DLC. Ignoring the entire point of the guild system in 2 DLC's in a row is a marketing disaster. They need another DSA or 12 man raid right now to keep players interested in playing, there are so many ppl already burnt out of whitegold and prison but stick around to gear up for the next set of raids, so telling people its a solo zone just threw all incentive to stick around out the window

Maybe, like someone said earlier, that ZOS is doing a rotational DLC?IE, instead of releasing one massive expansion every year, they split up the DLCS for every few months eg Craglorn- group, IC- pvp and Orsinium solo?

I don't begrudge anyone their content, and do understand people will be dissapointed if they don't get content that they want to play. If ZOS are going to do the rotating DLC and keep making group only/solo only areas, then perhaps they could look into scaling intances up? So that people can atleast keep busy (and get scaled drops) until their preferred DLC style is on rotation again?

I think this is where ZOS' thinking might be flawed... Solo MMO Players may come and go. If they paid a bit more attention to solo TES players they would have YEARS of dedication.

TES players aren't your usual players.

FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

Oh I'd be willing to bet 98% actually. Just pulled that number out of the kitty litter but it's the vast majority of the people who buy a box or download. I'd be willing to bet all my TV's that the ratio of registered forum users to buyers is less than 5%. Probably much less.

I wonder if you will be able to get vr16 materials here or just in IC? Since there is no level requirement for adventure zones if there are any nodes for harvesting might they be in lower level ranges like Oricalcum? That is one way they could keep IC relevant, just not provide any useful VR16 crafting materials or sets and just make it an adventure zone for adventurous people with a sense of adventure. I am guessing if you are vr16 you might get some vr16 drops, but maybe not, after all most of the stuff in Lower CL is vr10 and upper CL Vr12, they just might make all the drops in Orsinium vr14 and down, and they would have a decent precedent for it.

It would actually be a pretty smart move for ZoS to do that, getting some of those people holding out for Orsinium thinking they could just leap-frog IC to have to go back and get IC anyway to stay competitive and skilled.
