    I pretty much wont bother with Trophy Vaults for this reason. Not interested in spending my very limited and extremely valuable playtime getting the items required to open a vault only to get RNG'd with some trash trait or a trash set I will never use.

    As far as I'm concerned, if I have to spend a week+ of my gaming time to farm 60 of some random item to get a single piece of loot, I should be able to pick the loot.

    At this point I'd actually REALLY would like to hear the thought process from the guy at ZOS to put this trait on a VR16 item. Maybe something for ESO Live @ZOS_GinaBruno -- how are item sets created? Does it involve just random generating the stats? If not, why was it deemed suiting to put Training on a VR16 piece?

    The repeated application of "suboptimal" traits to end-game dropped gear sets is disheartening, to say the least. Indeed, this trend has been going on since the beginning of the game and it is (almost) becoming apparent that this is INTENTIONAL on part of the designers/development team, and I'd like to know why. It's almost as if you all are hanging around the office water cooler laughing at us players after we complete difficult content only to receive this sort of kick in the gut.

    Or, alternatively, the designers simply lack the competence to consider elements of end-game design. I'm not sure which is worse, vindictiveness or incompetence.

    Guys please, I was very excited to grind XP and treasure vault items in the sewers - I was so excited for this, I forgot traits even existed; now all I can think about is how the game has been officially released since April 4 2014 and the elephant in the room which is itemsation and the terror of terrible, forced traits.

    On Diablo 3 you can re-roll 'traits' [called enchantments], that game is so RNG but there are so many player friendly things you can use so you don't feel anxious, isolated and punished simply for enjoying the game you play and support almost as if the developers are going out of their way to make you hate the game you love, it's absurd.

    Let players change traits, let it cost 10,000 gold or something silly just give us the opportunity and if it must be random, then so be it - just give your players a player friendly way of personalising their gear and you will have incredible long-term player retention.

    If you don't want to do this, remove Training, remove Exploration, remove Sturdy from the drop pool. I remember a certain developer that we used to have the pleasure of enjoying - he never even played TESO because he was waiting for it to be released on Xbox - of course he would do stuff in the office, but he wasn't even playing the game and experiencing the trials and tribulations everyone else was in his free time, then it's released on Xbox and he's gone, cool - maybe he learnt about Traits and decided to stick to Diablo RNG or something.

    Well I can see the RNG is just here for us to have a reason to play content again and again and in the end to keep us entertained for long time, because we want to achieve something (getting a rare set item etc.). But honestly, its getting a little too grindy, I'd say.
    Adding an option like mentioned above (Randomly changing a trait for 10k gold) was really great.
    Like that, there is no reason to change the awful RNG (Endgame items having explored/training/other uselss stuff)
    and even adds an option to make already existing Set Items useful!
    Just thinking about improved
    "Desert Rose Set"
    "Necropotence Set"
    "Elf Bane Set"

    Grind 150 drops for 1 dungeon vault
    Grind 60 items for treasure vault (4 different flavors?)

    and lets not forget the classics:
    Grind XP
    Grind CP
    Grind AP

    ect ect.

    But back to topic, if they are going to put gear behind these gates (60 pieces of bone ect) it should either be the gear of your choice or at the very least not have trash traits no sane person would use.

    ZOS, please do not put "Training" on VR16 endgame gear, even by RNG. They do not have to all be the perfect min/max trait, but some traits are just remarkably wrongheaded for endgame gear.

    And what about all of the other crap in the game that drops at v12+ with these garbage traits? The traits should be buffed to include other useful things, I can link multiple feedback threads with ideas if your teams are lacking. The game launched with pvp sets that have Sturdy as a trait - I don't know what else to say.

    Hi @allenv30b14_ESO! This sounds like a bug. All Trophy Vault treasure chests should have a 100% guarantee to drop a set item piece (specifically from the mini jewelry/weapon sets.) We'd like to look into this it a bit further. Could you tell us what type of Trophy Vault you opened? (Planar Armor Scraps, Bone Shards, etc.)

    You guys still need to implement crafter services to allow us to change the appearance, level, and traits of other gear as well. Undaunted items dropping with these traits is garbage, any vet level set that that has these traits are garbage, the fact that there are a lot of decent sets that drop sub and mid vet that we can't use at v12+ because their levels and bonus are to low is also garbage.

    One of the draws of this game is the promise of customization and with lack of support for item customization,(looks/traits/levels) and the further push for gear grinding you guys are losing that customization promise. Especially with sets that lack jewelry/weapons/7 pieces of armor and only come in one armor type.

    You guys say that you want to support hybrid builds one of the ways to do that is allow current and future sets to drop in multiple armor types or allow crafters to change gear types for a fee, and the fee could be astronomical but the vast majority would still be appreciative of it cause it allows them to make competitive builds for their play style even if it doesn't match the "meta" of the "try hards".

    Crafting only goes so far with customization cause we can't craft jewelry, you guys have a massive chance to make this game the best in the business, the game is still young as far as mmo's go and adding player support for true customization of dropped equipment will be a big draw for people, it comes with the promise that every person can/will have a unique build and that their play style is catered too, that pvp will be more exciting because you won't be able to guess what build/item setup the person you fighting has. Are they a werewolf build making use of saviors hide? Don't know cause they are wearing heavy armor and are v16 now. Are they a flame nuker dragon knight decked out in sun set? Don't know cause they are wearing medium and charging with a two hand. Customization and player choice is key and paramount in any situation and leads towards some seriously entertaining game play moments that bring people back for more..

    I would absolutely love if most sets VR1 and above got this treatment, even if it meant they became random among the desired trait pools (like infused, divines, sharpened, etc...).

    You have no idea how depressing it is using 5 piece Necropotence, which boosts max magicka by 10% when a pet is active, and all of the item traits are Sturdy instead of relevant to max magicka like Infused or Divines :(

    FYI, sturdy is still in the 2-piece undaunted helm sets. I am the proud owner of a light hat of valkyn skoria with sturdy on it. I hope you will remove that from the rotation too <.<

    This is totally awesome! But I also think this is telling that almost all the traits need to be revisited to some degree as well. Or at least allow crafters to "upgrade" traits on weapons and armor as well.

    I totally agree that the dropped sets from Vet dungeons, DSA, and trials should also have the crappy traits removed. It would be nice at some point that master level crafters could change traits on dropped sets to something they could really use.

    One of the Itemization threads already mentioned that those v12 drop sets will now all drop with RANDOM traits (like the vet dungeon helm sets) instead of a preset trait. So, no guarantees of a good trait, but at least you will have a chance of something decent - eventually, if you farm them enough.

    I do like the idea of being able to add or remove traits with a high enough craft skill and the right items.

    I would leave it at adding traits... and once added keep it there permanently...
