Trophy Vaults

    We've been looking at feedback and in-game data and are going to make some changes. Gear obtained from the vaults will no longer have the following traits:
    • Weighted
    • Charged
    • Training
    • Well-Fitted
    • Sturdy
    • Exploration

    As a note: We didn't get this in for the next PTS patch, it will be in for live.

    thats a great fix for now ...maybe look at giving crafters the ability to change traits on items as a long term solution, obviously with some form of material cost

    Personally I would rather see no "powered" but leave in "weighted" as we still use that sometimes.

    Would be nice if there was some expensive item (gold, tel var, ...) / drop that allows you to re-roll the trait, but still keep it random. That way they have a new gold / time sink and it allows people to gamble to get a better trait.

    I'd even go as far as to allow ALL the traits in this re-roll action (including training).. would make for some fine Yolo re-roll posts. Guess Path of Exile tainted me on this one. ie. http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Exalted_Orb

    Thanks for being worth your pay grade. It's about damn time something like this happened. Thank you for pushing this change. I can only wonder how this game would have grown with you at the helm to begin with instead of the other guy. I try to forget his name. Thanks for doing good work.

    PS: I rarely compliment and this is definitely a compliment. I just hope that it becomes a trend of good decisions.

    This is actually a really good idea.

    What else are we going to do with our millions of tv stones?
    Saving them for the next patch like i did with my 8 million ap is not on my to do list atm

    Because they are actually useful (well, except sturdy) during the leveling phase. Just not endgame-ish. I like the removal from vet drop tables better, at least if it's universal and not only trophy vault specific...

    It is going to be made universal, right @ZOS_RichLambert?

    I'm a bit disappointed that V16 gear has training on it.

    I'm extremely disappointed that someone in the design process thought this was a good idea somehow. This worries me much, much more.

    You guys still need to implement crafter services to allow us to change the appearance, level, and traits of other gear as well. Undaunted items dropping with these traits is garbage, any vet level set that that has these traits are garbage, the fact that there are a lot of decent sets that drop sub and mid vet that we can't use at v12+ because their levels and bonus are to low is also garbage.

    One of the draws of this game is the promise of customization and with lack of support for item customization,(looks/traits/levels) and the further push for gear grinding you guys are losing that customization promise. Especially with sets that lack jewelry/weapons/7 pieces of armor and only come in one armor type.

    You guys say that you want to support hybrid builds one of the ways to do that is allow current and future sets to drop in multiple armor types or allow crafters to change gear types for a fee, and the fee could be astronomical but the vast majority would still be appreciative of it cause it allows them to make competitive builds for their play style even if it doesn't match the "meta" of the "try hards".

    Crafting only goes so far with customization cause we can't craft jewelry, you guys have a massive chance to make this game the best in the business, the game is still young as far as mmo's go and adding player support for true customization of dropped equipment will be a big draw for people, it comes with the promise that every person can/will have a unique build and that their play style is catered too, that pvp will be more exciting because you won't be able to guess what build/item setup the person you fighting has. Are they a werewolf build making use of saviors hide? Don't know cause they are wearing heavy armor and are v16 now. Are they a flame nuker dragon knight decked out in sun set? Don't know cause they are wearing medium and charging with a two hand. Customization and player choice is key and paramount in any situation and leads towards some seriously entertaining game play moments that bring people back for more..

    I too love the game and have been playing since beta and put in fourteen months to research and acquire all the crafting knowledge possible and having reached that point wondering if that is all the devs can provide for us crafting nuts or are there new things floating around that might make it into the game in the next few months....

    My thoughts on the issue for what their worth

    I would like to see set pieces become re-searchable create a passive for it and that anyone willing to put time into learning a set should be rewarded with the ability to make it I have all the ability to make everything possible in game every stat combination for food and drink and all Armour weapons nine traits and find that aspect of the game fascinating and enjoyable
    With the number of sets in game the opportunity exists to reward for anyone willing to dedicate the proper time to gather and research a dropped set given a decent research time should be rewarded with the ability to make them in the weight, style and trait of their choice, this has to be balanced with a players ability to learn too much however if a piece were to take a month to research that's five months for a set, rewarding those who choose to undertake the challenge keeping crafting an indefinitely viable distraction, which it lacks at present due to the extremely limited crafting potential.
    I feel that Jewelery crafting should have been in the original base game and that it has not been added yet is ridiculous. As an Elder scrolls game I feel it should have expanded on the abilities provided in skyrim and previous titles not reduced the potential for creativity and customization and would also reduce the grindy feel of obtaining high quality jewelery as it should be upgradable same as weapons and armour by using it's own set of tempers obtaining Epic end game jewelery should not feel like an anti drop cause there isn't any way to improve the item dropped and the thought that another run with toes crossed is the only way forward

    Definitely a step in the right direction. But back on topic I would really appreciate the vaults to drop more than just a set piece. Maybe gold and Tel Var stones too oh and at least a purple leveled item.

    P.S. Allen have you stopped going to pts? I'm the guy that was "helping" you get the trophies. Ever since you told me what you found inside the vault I dropped drastically my visits to pts. Didn't even bother farm the last 9 trophies I'm missing. Too much bother for such crappy reward. Hope they get their act together before IC goes live ;)

    So you work for hours to get into a vault and you get a RNG item from a chest that belongs to a set? hmm Id be seriously dissapointed by this. Pls atleast give us a littlebit more in ways of controlling what kind of set we want... maybe stamina build vs magicka builds or even more specific like warrior, mage, rogue type chests. Thanks.

    Second - NONE of the end game gear should drop with these traits. Make this a global change for all dropped end game gear and we are in business.

    Yeah, weighted may come in handy with some of the new sets that favour light and heavy attacks.

    Imperial City is live and I am seeing Agility/Willpower/Endurance gear for sale and it has these lousy traits on it. 6 of the 7 VR16 endgame pieces for sale in the first guild trader I stopped at have one of the poor traits listed above. Did this change not make it to live? :-(

    But... remember, the 1-year-wait for new content is over, DLC frequency is supposed to be 3-4 months... so... maybe... just thinking.... you don't absolutely need to feed us with *endless* grinding for anything and everything anymore :D

    How about removing arcane and healthy traits from agility jewelry, healthy and robust traits from arcane jewelry, and robust and arcane traits from the endurance jewelry?

    Im 100% sure the guy who is going for that agility set doesnt want arcane or healthy on any of the jewelry pieces he gets and thats IF he even gets a piece of jewelry. Its the same for the guy going for the willpower set and its almost the same for the ones going for the endurance set.

    just a suggestion for a change to well fitted trait, sinc it is rather useless.. how about decrease cost of dodge rolling on the well fitted trait? would even out the nerf to dodgerolling a bit.
