I have been researching Ebonarm... there's nothing official of any use really but there is much speculation about who he was. Some say he was a man who was mantled to Trinimac (There is some fan-lore on this). Some say he was a god that was usurped by Talos. I could even see him as being an aspect of Jyggalag being that he is an enemy of all Daedric princes EXCEPT Sheogorath.

Ok... I've decided to associate Reymon Ebonarm with the Ehlnofey. The following lead me to this conclusion:
    • He could be wounded physically and permanently as shown by his Ebony Sword for his arm. (so not an Ada or Divine)
    • He could grant immortality (So not simply a hero)

I do think Jyggalag would be a good possibility but I'm trying to find the "most likely fit" and the association with Jyggalag is just as shallow as him being associated with Talos.

So... What of the Akaviri races?
    http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Akavir_(Continent)

Personally I've always considered them Mannish races with their bestial natures being more metaphorical, but I see no reason they couldn't be charted.

Pretty much because we don't know their origins @ShedsHisTail. I'm only including races that are not extinct, we know their origin (generally) and any race that had a direct impact on a still existing race (dwemer).

    Mixed myself up.

I still don't think the Akaviri races are literally bestial, though. Mysterious Akavir is the only text I'm aware of that makes said references, and I just don't buy it. If I had to chart the Akaviri races, I'd put them on about the same plane as the other mannish races.

There is no evidence supporting your theory that I know of, but quite a lot of evidence against it. The Nu-Mantia Intercept, the Annotated Anuad, Nord creation myth, the arrival of Atmorans and Yokudans, even wacky theories of Akavir as the next dream.

The problem is that we don't know enough about the Akaviri to include them. We could trace them to the Ehlnofey, maybe put Tsaesci in the line of men, but I'm not sure we should. The chart includes playable races and races we encountered or heard a lot about in the games. The Akaviri don't feature prominently. If we add them, we need to add a lot of other races too.

I think it's funny how little we know about the other races of Tamriel. the Sload and the Imga,

I personally think the Imga evolved from apes. Much like many think Khajiit evolved from cats.

I think I'd like to do a "Races of Nirn" chart at some point in the future, which would include things like the Reachmen and the different Khajiit furstocks. The problem with THAT chart is it would be filled with even more wild assumptions and guesses than THIS chart is.

Yeah, I understand the practicality of not adding them. It makes sense, I'm just speculating.

I tend to employ some real-world logic to Elder Scrolls lore in that, the older the text/source, the less literally I interpret it. Indeed, this seems to gel with at least one lore book which says that early records tend to be more fanciful. Several later texts describe the Akaviri as "men".

Much like modern Imperials identify with the symbol of the dragon, the Akaviri cultures may have simply identified heavily with animalistic symbolism, back in the day, leading to embellished tales of beast men.

Perhaps this is all better suited for a different thread, though.

    lol. I like it.

@ShedsHisTail I have long wondered if the description of the Tsaesci as "Snake Men" may be more a description of their prowess, skills, mannerisms, and stature than of their actual physical appearance. Maybe the reports that they "ate" the Akaviri is more that the Akaviri changed into the Tsaesci because of the torturous Akavir continent.

Of course... I quite like the idea of a golden skinned snake people.

Ok. I've finished it up. It's also now "poster size" so it'll can easily fit on a poster/print. It comes in at 8090 X 12360. That should be large enough to produce a nice quality print. Enjoy!
