And if they ever became available as optional race... uhm... well, I have my eight slots filled already. If they became available and a race change option was added, I might perhaps be tempted...
We'll see I guess. There are several optional races they could add before they even started thinging about Falmer... races already showing up in the game... Reachmen, Goblins, Maormer...

So reachmen are technically bretons that have adopted a tribal lifestyle. Maormer would be cool as well as the snow elves...whatever their technical name is. I don't know about goblins though. They seem to be a little too feral to be a sentient, playable race. Same goes for the feral falmer. At some point I'd like to find out what happened to the Dwemer through some story arc that has you meeting one of the last few survivors of the race...but that'll probably never happen. There's just too much mystery.

    Play Morrowind and meet him.

Although he's not much on the answers.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    Most favorite: Argonian

Least favorite: Argonian because we have such crap racial passives and ZOS intends to keep them that way.

It's horrible to be a self-loving self-loather. The cognitive dissonance is killing this game for me.

I like the imperial race most because of the racial passives and the bonus of being able to craft imperial stuff without the motif. I dislike argonian race because I just think they are ugly.

Be careful with that kind of talk. You sound like a slave owning dunmer:)

I guess I dislike the dunmer culture because of the slave ownership.

The imperial is the best. Go figure.

Favourite - Bosmer & Orc - I love Wood Elves. They seem so laid back compared to the Altmer or Dunmer.
Orc's are so proud and honourable, I really like that about them.

    Least favourite - Khajiit &Altmer.
I don't dislike Khajiit as a rule and I love their lore and culture, I just never play them. I love other people's Khajiit characters though, and Raz is my favourite character in the game.
Altmer.. just too high and mighty for me.

    Favorite: Imperial
    Runner up: Dunmer

They seem to have the richest and most interesting history/lore (despite and probably thanks to MK's obsession with Vivec).

    Least Favorite: Argonian
    Runner up: Khajiit

Boring culture, and their appearances are generally for the sake of "trying to have something exotic".

I have to admit any time I am tempted to say that I absolutely dislike a race, I then think of someone (player or NPC) of that race that I totally adore.

I'm kind of Meh on Imperials as a general race/concept but ... to make a short story brief - when my sweetie GMed for a while and used Morrowind for the setting, his portrayal of the Emperor was so .... charismatic and engaging that I could never hate Imperials.

And I'm not generally attracted to/interested in playing Redgards, but two folks I play with each have a fairly 'main' redgard character, and they are cool people.

Unlike the Dwarves they are yet to become extinct despite their small numbers.

Snow Elves are for all extents and purposes extinct by the time of ESO - the two remaining ones are hidden and won't be (re-)discovered until 200 years into the 4th age.

As far as I was aware ESO is set before Morrowind? And there are still a small colony of Snow Elves that no longer live in Tamriel, with only a few remaining within Tamriel? The others having fled. Am I not correct in this thinking?

    http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Snow_Elf

Except for the two snow elves encountered in Dawnguard, and the ones corrupted into the Falmer, Snow Elves were extinct by the time of ESO.
This is true, although the lore is unclear on whether the corrupted Falmer are already in the form that we see in Skyrim, or if their transformation was gradual and took generations. We know that the blinding part of it has already happened (that happened right away as a result of what the Dwemer did to them), but we don't know for sure if they have transformed entirely by the time of ESO. I believe it's more likely than not that the transformation was relatively rapid, and that they were already what we think of as Falmer when they rose up against the Dwemer, but we can't be certain of that.

I like Nords the best because Lydia and Serana from Skyrim were Nords. I also like redheads and they are one of the few races where you can roll up a redhead. They are tall which for me makes it easier to play, but I have to admit the propensity of some of them to be racist is a bit of an issue. The fact that they seem to like to drink is also charming for me. The drunken hilarity in Windhelm has to be one of the highlights of the game.

fav: Altmer because they actually have something to feel superior over other races, so any kind of racism is warranted

Racial passives and abilities are my primary choice. I don't care about the overall characteristics and attitude of the race because I am not everyone else.
    Appearance is the second choice.

Example: Favorite races, Imperial, Altmer, and Breton.
Races I won't play are Argonians, Nords, and Orcs because their passives don't really work for the classes I want to play and well... aside from the Nords, I just wouldn't like looking at my character.

I don't care for Khajits either BUT... if I had my choice, I would totally change the race for my Nightblade to a cat.

My favourite is Argonians for some reason. I really don't know why; I'm always a fan of underdog types which is probably part of the reason at least.

Least favourite? Dunmer. Sick of seeing them, and all the hypocrisy and enslavement stuff they're into irks me.

I'm an Altmer so It's in my nature to feel and actually be better than all other races. That being said, there is one race I dislike the most - heck, I even use them as mounts. Purrrhaps, that's the only thing they are good at.

Favorite race is Argonian and they're all I've rolled in ESO except Rhanjiit who is now dead.

I don't have a least favorite race. As such, I really hope the dismantling of the empire, something Bethesda seriously seems to be considering, doesn't mean any genocide. We need all the races we have right here.

Would also like the Dwemer to return. I have an unpopular theory they are trapped in Azura's realm of Oblivion, Moonshadow. Obviously they would be enemies due to their nature, but maybe you could play as a renegade.

The chance to play a Khajiit is really why I signed up for ESO, so if I hada pick one...
The one thing I would change about them would be to make them less human. IMO they should look a bit more like cats and less like a cat head on a human body + fur. And I would let them be much smaller, like 4' tall or even less.

But really I love the mix. The different lore and attitudes is great stuff for stories, and yeah that includes the racism and slavery aspects because if no one has reprehensible traits, they can't learn to overcome them.

The brutish orcs who, under the gruff exterior are really just people. And who, if you can look past green skin and tusks, can really be quite attractive.

The Khajiit with their Yoda-like way of talking and difficulty with the idea of personal property are such a hoot.

The enigmatic Argonians. And the thought of a Khajiit trying to figure out an Argonian just cracks me up.

The various elves, all so different yet all elves (and all kinda arrogant in their own way).

And the humans are fun too, drawn from some interesting earth cultures.

Oh yeah, I can see that too. Or maybe not needing weapons for hand-to-hand. At 7' tall and say 300 lbs with the speed, power, and natural armament of a big cat, plus intelligence -- that could be a very effective package.

Hey, how about one of the large quadrupedal Khajiit? Large enough to actually carry someone into battle, but they would not be driving. :-) Or you could go in without a rider. And unlike a horse or senche, you could fight when you got there.
