Least Favorite: All other races except Khajiit, they're tolerable to see, but I'd not play as one.

Not joking. If I want to play as a human in a video game, I'd play countless other games. Argonians define the whole "this is high fantasy, get me as far away from real life as possible" adage. If Elder Scrolls games did not have Argonians, I honestly would have never played absolutely any Elder Scrolls game.

Um.... severe alt-a-holic here, so my favorite would have to be whatever race I'm playing.

Don't care about passives or racials or any of that crap - that's not why I play, and given that it's an MMORPG it's all subject to change anyway.

Most recent rollup was an old lady orc; on another thread someone speculated that "elderly female" was probably the least played character type (cross racial) so I thought to myself what "little old lady from pasadena" could I roll up to strike fear in the hearts of other characters.

Anyway... love dunmer because .... Morrowind.

Love argonians because ... well a lot if it is Twin Lamps from Morrowind and Sees-All-Colors from ESO.

Love nords? Um, no, not really. I guess I do have a least favorite race.

Love Orsimer and hated/loathed and generally really disliked how they were portrayed in Oblivion. Love the honor / semi- Samurai vibe.

More later when I properly gather my irritation at how bosmer culture is mangled in ESO

This has to be one of my favourite answers. But I tend to dislike the Dark Elves because of Morrowind :p I used to find myself running around Vivec killing endless amounts of Ordinators to the point of where me and a friend had changed the words to "N.W.A - Straight outta Compton" to "Straight out of Vivec"

"When something happens in south Central Vivec, nothing happens..... it's just another Ordinator dead...dead...dead."

    Khajiit4life.

Always loved the khajiit, since the early days of morrowind. The models have improved greatly over the years, though sometimes I miss the digitigrade legs.

They have a lot more culture and history than a lot of players realize. Along with the argonians/sload, khajiit were natives to tamriel before men or mer ever arrived from across the seas. Khajiit come in 16 unique types, ranging from the alfiq (house-cat looking khajiit) to the suthay/cathay (more humanoid khajiit that we play now) to the senche (large quadruped khajiit). Yes, those senche-mounts that everyone's riding around on are actually sentient khajiit, with an intelligence level on par with the humanoid khajiit.

Least favorite are probably the dunmer or orcs (orsimer). Orcs are just ugly, always reminded me of big pig people, and their culture (at least, in my opinion) isnt particularly interesting. Dunmer I dont like simply because of the prevalent racism, slavery, and superiority complex they've got going for them, especially since I'm a khajiit player. They also worship false gods, all hail azura =P
    PS4 / NA
    M'asad - Khajiit Nightblade - Healer
Pakhet - Khajiit Dragonknight - Tank
Raksha - Khajiit Sorcerer - Stamina DPS
Bastet - Khajiit Templar - Healer
Leonin - Khajiit Warden - Tank

By outward appearance and culture only: Khajiit clearly wins, with Argonians following not too far behind, third place Dunmer, last place Imperial - they all look just boring.

By racial passives only: Imperial, Dunmer, High Elves, last place Argonians - they so far behind that's just sad.

Decouple race and passives (selectable from a common pool for all races) and I'll be a cat all day long...

Argonians, least favorite. I have to come this conclusion as I have pictured my Breton having sex with all the races and I'm sure the Argonians are useless, cold lovers.

I find it funny that you limit yourself to certain races because of the passives.

We call that a try-hard. You do know that you can off set the difference right?

Oh and yes!! get rid of the racial passives!!! (sarcasm)

Favorite: In TESO tie between Altmer and Red Guard: Altmer for their very attitude of being better than everybody else, plus I just love the Thalmor, even in Skyrim and Red Guard because they're the best looking.

Least Favorite: In TESO - Khajit, Argonian or Osimer - sorry, just can't stand their looks.

Favorite: Dunmer, because they are dark elves (shouldn't need to elaborate anymore on that)

Least Favorite: Hmmmm I really don't have one! But the race I've played the least of in all the Scrolls games would be Redguard. Also I won't play female toons simply because my characters are always my avatars in game and as I am not a lady (or a daedric prince) I just can't bring myself to do it, though I have tried.

Great ask O.P, I love threads like this!

Very good answers! To be honest I found it harder to pick a favourite than a least favourite, I must admit I too very rarely create Redguard characters. Might have had Falmer (Snow Elves) as my favourite but they don't appear much within the series so went with the Argonians!

Should give the post an awesome badge then ; ) I must admit I prefer a good post like this than threads full of trouble makers that spoil the essence of the Elder Scrolls games :")

My favourite races are always those who are more magically inclined, so Breton / Altmer / Dunmer. Of that lot I probably like the Telvanni the most, but as a whole I'll probably go with the Altmer. The Bretons have always frustrated me, they are half mer, or have some degree of mer blood, but look like a basic man sort of race. If they were more of a halfling with fair features I'd probably go with Breton, but eh.

My least favourite races are the Argonian / Khajiit, purely because I'm not big on 'beast' races. That being said, I have never, nor do I plan to, play a Redguard / Orsimer as I also don't really like them a great deal (though the Withered Hand are pretty cool). That being said, my least favourite is probably the Argonians.. Shadowfen is such a pain.

Favorite: Altmer followed very closely by Bosmer. Altmer is just like the pc master race...jk :D Real answer, because with a love of Tolkien I wouldn't have looked at TES and those two races most resemble my beloved (imo)

Least Favorite: Nord because of Skyrim, followed close by Orcs, I simply can't get over the teeth

I forgot to add my least favorite. Probably the Imperials. Just seems too bland and generic for me. Most of the Elves or half-Elves races as well, because, we see every single type of them in other games before countless of times. Argonians and Kajitts are my favorites (in that order) followed by Nords, which adds a little bit of different flavor with their Viking-like history and personality.

Quick question: if Falmer were a playable race in this game (maybe special purchase like imperial), would you want to play one?

Sorry if spelling is incorrect, but the underground dwellers in Skyrim that were ugly clearly had a culture, style of armor, etc.....I always wondered if the Dwemer possibly cursed themselves (or angered the Daedra) somehow and became the Falmer.

Dunmer all the way here for favorites! Ever since TES:Morrowind... well, I played dunmer in TES:Daggerfall too, but I really started to love them for the rich lore infusion they got in morrowind...

Least favorite? Hmmm... difficult. I kinda dislike half of them, Breton, Redguard, Imperial, Altmer, Khajiit... but that's just personal preference, nothing more. Don't really have any "least favorite", only a couple of "tertiary choices"...

According to lore, Falmer were snow elves who fled from the invading humans to the dwemer territories... following promises of refugee, but the dwemer lied, and enslaved them instead. They rebelled and fought back, with mixed results... until the time the dwemer all vanished (still a mystery), at which point the Falmer, by now changed quite a bit from their long underground living (and possibly some dwemer adjustment) took over some of the freshly abandoned dwemer realms in/under skyrim...

And if they ever became available as optional race... uhm... well, I have my eight slots filled already. If they became available and a race change option was added, I might perhaps be tempted...
We'll see I guess. There are several optional races they could add before they even started thinging about Falmer... races already showing up in the game... Reachmen, Goblins, Maormer...
