These were only foul-water fish. I can try the other ones, but I don't know if I have the patience to filet for an hour in near future, haha.

And on that note, does anyone by any chance know if there's an add-on that will fillet all of the fish in your inventory instead of having to manually do each one?

How many fish have you filleted? The RNG for them is all over the place.

Today I actually had a great RNG day. Gained the most roe in one day than ever. I am lucky normally if I get 1 in 100.

146 Salmon = 4 roe
135 River Betty = 2 roe

Total hours spent fishing. 2.5hrs.

What if the rng has other variables....like irl you fish at certain times....so maybe fish caught at sunset or sunrise or daytime or night time...or maybe it's when they are refined.... just thinking outloud

The XP booster was added with patch 2.0.11 for PC - hasn't been patched into the console yet (at least according to the patch notes).

Is that a delay from the microsoft/Sony review process? Where pc they can direct publish and don't have to please 3rd party? Or is it just a separate marketing train?

I think it's because it's a patch that came after the console release, and they're trying to work through a lot of issues on consoles right now. They may not want to release this until some other things are fixed. Also, yes, there is a delay, at least with MS, in terms of the review process for patches.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they keep using the PC players as guinea pigs to stabilize a patch before inflicting it on the consoles!

As a pc player I am ok with being the guinea pig as long as there is content coming and I get it sooner rather than later

how long did it take? 5k at .007% = 42 roe not sure on current prices but if 15k

then 42 * 15k = 630k gold

the question then becomes can you farm 630k gold faster then you can fish 6k fish and if farming the gold gives you exp then that reduces the benefit of the roe from fishing as well.

I am guessing this math does not work out well

1 Perfect Roe/500 Fillets. WTF its just like getting the recipe Fragments for the Ambrosia, which by the lower level characters can not get, 0.1%. Seriously. I can get Tempering Alloy Rosin and Dreugh Wax all day, but when it comes to stuff i need nope zos does not want me to have it!

I realize that if you fish for the fun of it it's a nice bonus but it doesn't change the fact that the XP boost from the potions is completely negated by the time it takes to get the ROE.

If a player wants to make psijic ambrosia by farming the bait and roe themselves they've spent the equivalent time fishing that it would take to gain that XP by simply grinding at the normal rate. The difference being you don't gain any xp or cp while fishing.

Edit: trust me I like fishing lol, doesn't not make farming roe a waste of freaking time. I'm going to work up some maths to prove my point and petition ZOS to increase the drops rate.

It's just ridiculous and clearly points to them just wanting us to buy the crown potions and not actually be able to make anything off psijic ambrosia made in game. In it's current state it's just a time sink/gold sink.

This is the problem exactly! Traditional farming/grinding nets gold, mats, and xp/cp in the process whereas fishing roe doesn't net any cps and takes forever to get a Roe. The drop rate needs a buff to be a viable crafting choice.

I am five fish away from completing my Master Angler. Having completed my ocean fish I decided to fillet them today. This is a week and a half worth of fishing. I was filleting fish as I caught them earlier and decided to try to get a better idea of ration/types of fish, etc.

From 558 Dhufish I got 11 perfect roe. Great odds!
From 537 Longfin I got 4 perfect roe. Not so great odds.

Next up will be the river fish but even with the fillet addon it seemingly takes forever to do a few hundred fish.

Finally got my Master Angler getting my last blue foul water fish in Cyrodiil and it seemed to take forever.

No more fishing for a long, long time. I have a bunch of fish to fillet.

Next to go are the river fish. River Betty and Salmon. Not many to sample from as I was filleting them up until a few days ago.

From 347 River Betty 3 perfect roe.
From 349 Salmon 2 perfect roe.

Got started late last night on the lake fish.

From 699 Silverside Perch 2 perfect roe.

Today I did the following:

160 Dhufish = 0 perfect roe
157 Longfin = 0 perfect roe

This should have at the very least netted 2 perfect roe.

It is becoming more and more apparent that the time it takes to get these does not equal the XP you can earn with the pots. Time is better spent just grinding XP for 4 hours without pots, you get more XP that way.

Perfect, really you hit the nail there. Every game has to do things like this to keep many things ablanced. Having worked as a QA Tester i have seen things like this that look stupid or inconceivable to some but is an important balance for the game
