Please reconsider a Chat Box for those that want it. Make it a option at least. I was logged into the game for about 30 min and had to turn off voice chat because it was really bad. From feedback from others mics to the person constantly yelling and saying the game sucks etc. It is great when in a guild or with a group, but part of the game is interacting with random people to sell/trade items and the voice channel will need to be open to do this and it just is a mess. Give us the option to have chat box and let the end user decide if we want to use it or have it closed.
Please reconsider this decision.
Thank You!

I can only support text chat IF and ONLY there is an option to remove it from the screen.
I find text chat annoying and worthless, mainly since we have voice chat now anyway. Voice chat works fine and I have met people I enjoy gaming with that NEVER would met if forced to use text chat.
Text chat boxes serve to only remove and destroy my immersion playing the game.
Everyone needs to post threads Everytime they are looking for delves, trials, and selling things. This will show how important text chat is needed.

Wrong.
That will just get all the console players banned from the forums.
Which is what, I think, many of the PC Users wish would happen anyway.

There are two different twitch live feeds where this topic has been addressed at different point in each. It's not one part of either. If you're too lazy or it's too much of a bother to go watch all the April and May twitch live's then....why would ZOS take your feedback into consideration.
The reasons I'm not linking specifics is because in April and May I did a detailed post on this topic which was locked in the console beta thread.
If you do not care enough to get the information from the source please do not make negative comments towards me or others.
Feel free to continue your feedback towards ZOS but do bring yourself up to speed on their prior stance, decisions so that your feedback is taken seriously by ZOS.
I'm not for adding it but if you are, at least do yourself the benefit of being relevant in your comments on the subject
Calm down there. You're a consumer, not a forum moderator.
He likes to live in his little world of make-believe. Forum Ambassador over on that forum, fight for marketing on this forum, back ZOS regardless of overwhelming public opinion.
It must be fun in the land of Smurfs.
I've fought this text chat battle since April, and it's exhausting. So I've boiled it down to this...
Text chat saves lives™
Agreed, @NewBlacksmurf again if your going to reference a video as part of your argument then please include the video name and the time stamp. If you cant do this then stop posting it to try and spread misinformation. If you cant validate your own argument by including the "specifics" then why should others go hunting for it?
If you missed it, ZOS keeps these on this site for future reference.
If you're suggesting that ZOS change their stance, make yourself fully aware of their decisions first.
As far as me posting any links....this is to no benefit to me as I've fine with their direction, decisions and statements as have watched them more than once.
If you have not, go watch them....no need to put a link as the links are on the forums on this site.
Go watch them...you guys are being silly or just lazy or trolling...which it seems to be more of trolling at this point
Wait, so ZoS when B2P with a crown store because they said no one on console would pay the xbox1 live and Sony one and the sub for ESOTU. Yet you guys would be willing to pay for an app to text chat in ESOTU?
Wow, just wow!

If I remember right, somewhere in the FAQ about consoles future release when ESO was P2P (not sure if it's still there as things have changed since ESO went B2P), it said we wouldn't have to pay PSN+ and ESO monthly fee to play the game but only the ESO one. Same thing goes with FFXIV, it is P2P and you don't have to subscribe to the PSN+ in order to play the game on PS4. So that's not why ESO went buy to play.
Though I won't pay to use a text chat, I'll just go play another game if that really bores me. ^^

You don't need PS+ to play ESO...I let my neighbor try it out on one of my alternate PSN accounts, and tried to talk him into getting a PS4 and playing with me. He is a PC gamer though, and not really into MMOs, so I don't think the game won him over...yet.

Here was my poll pushing for console text chat in April when ZOS made the decision to pull it right before beta. And this was BEFORE console players even were able to play the game. Shows what players knew was needed.
Oh well, guess ZOS listens to only what they think matters.

They haven't said "no", they said that they were open to adding some form of text-based communication further than what exists currently, be it through more quickchat wheel selections or otherwise.
That is pretty much the opposite of "No".
It's the game itself that is falling behind the PC version as soon as VOIP is introduced to PC. You may be happy about paying the same price for an inferior product, but I am not.

VOIP software like Teamspeak/Ventrilo/Mumble are so easy to use and have been part of the PC gaming community for so long that I don't even think they need to worry about integrated VOIP on PC. IF you have a mic on PC, and aren't already using any of those programs, I doubt you'd use the built-in voice chat either.

While that's true, soon you won't have to hope that somebody has a TS / Mumble server already, etc. Seems more like an ease of use change to me, to alleviate some of the dependence on 3rd party software.

While forcing consoles to rely on 3rd party software for text chat?!? Seems...I don't know...hypocritical to use that reasoning...
