I love flying but I vote no and hope it doesn't come to ESO.

I just want to say something though to everyone who says no but then HAS to comment how it would break Cyrodil. Why does the addition of flying (if it ever were to happen but let's hope it doesn't) have to be added into Cyrodil as well? It could easily be added only to PvE zones and keep it to ground in PvP zones. I don't understand your arguments stating Cyrodil being ruined lol.

As others have said, sure it can hurt immersion and lore but at some point something will be added that will change and possibly ruin that so to me it's not even as much about lore/immersion as it is about too much time and investment for them to update the games mechanics and current content to allow for it for very little return. That time and effort can go to proper content everyone will enjoy and benefit from. I would rather see player and guild housing, small scale PvP, more PvE content, etc... before time wasted on the addition of flying.

I would not like them to be adden. But if they would add it, yes i would buy it. All the people say "no", will also buy it when it hits the crownstores. I won't believe anyone who sais otherwise.

But still, i hope they will NOT add them.

They don't have the technology or the expertise to do Flying mounts.
The best you can ever hope for is 'hovering' mounts ie, mounts with no legs.

Not like Chronicles of Istaria where you can actually play as a Dragon and fly over mountains and oceans. :p
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

Rofl at suggesting people would be able to fly in cyrodil.
Yes just go full potaetoe, im sure if they added flying, once we mounted ....we would instantly cap champion system right?
Fly over imperial city that isnt in the game yet and crown ourself emperor! Fly over keeps and instantly take! No flag dlippin for me, im a on a dragon bro.
Im sure if flying was added we could FLY over raid trash mobs, and go straight to the boss right?
Yes im sure if flying was added it would be just like this!
Thats why it "ruins " mmos!
Wait wut, wow lost 3million subs since flying removed?
FF RR, most succesfull subscription mmo (on console ), is adding it in next expansion.
GW2 is adding glider combat sooo basicly flying and combat,
Hmm those games have chat boxes too,
    Anyosne else seeing a pattern?

Hope this doesnt get anyones hopes up, were too busy having parts of the game reremvoed to add stuff.

I don't believe this poll is accurate. The question isn't whether or not you want to see flying mounts, but rather would you buy one if they were in the game. I think a lot of people are using this poll as a means to express their distaste for flying mounts rather than actually answering the question.

I don't believe for a second that 70% of the player base would NOT buy a dragon while watching other people fly around on them.
I sure as hell wouldn't. I love this game, but seeing a whole bunch of people flying around on dragons would probably make me cancel my sub and stop playing.

Although after reading some of the posts here I've revised my opinion somewhat. If a bull netch flying mount was added to the game, and it just floated along at regular netch speeds (pretty much the same speed as walking), I might actually buy it and ride it sometimes purely for the "ha ha, this is so stupid" factor. Alternatively, if there was a new zone added along with a flying mount that was appropriate for that zone, and could only be used in that zone (like maybe a plane of Oblivion like @Pendrillion suggested), I'd be fine with that too.

    Well actually - NO.

But for scouting around in Cyrodiil, it would be fun seeing other PvPers trying to target my flying mount from the ground. And airborne keep assaults would be awesome.

Oh, I so would. And I want an animation where the netch grabs my toon with one tentacle and lobs me onto its back. Followed by the "I so meant to do that" embarrassed smoothing back of the hair by the toon.

As far as Dragon mounts, the mount should only hover by it's wings when you sprint, otherwise, VERY heavy footsteps.

Again, as long it floats/hovers, I see no problem with this variety.

Lore preservation is just a silly argument against flying mounts, because it's already part of established lore (see examples above.)

ZOS would sell flying mounts if they could, regardless of how we feel. This group is about making money not advancing lore. If things: like class imbalance, year long bugs, server lag and dishonesty haven't caused you to quit...I don't understand how flying mounts could be the last straw?

Well, some straw has to be the last, right? A camel can only take so much.

Actually a Camel would be awesome. So would proper elephants (why do they have mammoths in the jungles, when perfectly good elephants would do?). Mammoths (for the nords).

The closest thing to a flying mount I could foresee is something like a Siltstrider, which doesn't fly so much as hover. Thing about siltstriders though is that they're used like a bus in Morrowind, so either you'd have a tiny baby one, or maybe it could be a group mount? Beyond this I really don't think something flying around in the sky makes much sense, even if it were Dwemer nonsense.

There are lots of stuff that is lore breaking in this game already *cough bbq-horse cough* so just drop the hypocrite style and embrace the idea of flying mounts.
All player characters is the vestige ( oh the immersion....) so basicly none other then your character are really there anyway.
I could definatly see a DLC where the vestige travels in time or whatever and where you get to ride a dragon or some other creature and bring it back to the present game era for a short period of time ( its not like the years of in game-time is moving forward in any logical way.)

^ Theoretically possible, but beast control isn't particularly common, excluding the Bosmer.
Dragons do not count as you must be Dragonborn, but even that is limited.

The biggest reason against it is likely technological limitations, though.

Even something that hovers off the ground would require new animations and physics. The latter being the more difficult part, as it would make no sense to take fall damage without hitting the ground.

From the lore-breaking to the very probable mechanic abuse, flying mounts should not be included in the game.

Most people will just use it to fly over the required NPC and drop down instead of fighting/stealthing through the mobs. Permit it in PvP then it could be even worse as people sky-dive into keeps and resources.

Even the practical use of faster travel is somewhat negated by the fact that we have other mechanics that help with the issue (i.e. wayshrines and horses). By that point flying mounts are just to get to point A to point B with minimal threat/effort. There is a reason Blizzard said they regretted implementing flying mounts.

That being said though, if the 'flying' mounts instead referred to mounts that merely hovered above ground (like the mighty netch) then I'd be ok with that.

Nah. It would require a good amount of additional coding for animations and such. They are more likely to reskin the same horse/guar/costume 20 times and endorse holiday events than implement these flying derpmounts.
