So we cannot use the key board and mouse our ps4 recognizes for combat?
Why not?
So glad keyboard and mouse support won't be included for chatting or control. It would give other players a leg up in pvp over those who choose to stick with a controller, same with in-game chat as well.
Best to keep everyone on the same level, IMO.
Ok now you're just being silly. SMHNewBlacksmurf wrote: »Respectively PC doesn't come with a controller or headsets so each by design are in-line as is
My PC didn't come w/ a keyboard or mouse either.
...or a monitor for that matter.

That's great accessibility @NewBlacksmurf . Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Maybe you didn't mean it like that but it sure sounded pretty awful.ruze84b14_ESO wrote: »A person on Reddit just reminded me: What about deaf people? How do deaf players play Grand Theft Auto, Destiny, Halo, Diablo 3, or any other multiplayer game already on consoles that include absolutely no keyboard support?
@ruze84b14_ESO
There's a huge difference between those titles and ESO... Does the group finder even work yet? How will anyone group up for a dungeon or trial if it doesn't work?
Players should have equal access to proper functionality fitting their needs regardless of whether or not they have a disability.

Who is using their PC without a mouse and keyboard ?
You either have a touch screen and some form of a keyboard.
The same with a console. You can buy them without any accessories but you can't use them
Ppl are just arguing to argue

Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.
He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

Will there be in-game voice channels?
If so...
How many will there be?
Will we be able to create custom voice channels?
How many people can enter into a voice channel?
Will there be Public, Zone, Guild, Say, Private, Proximity etc Voice Channels?

What about Alliance coordination without zone type chat is there any plan for some other mechanism to allow this to happen?

ZOS confirmed no text to chat but instead voice chat which seems voice chat will replace text chat on console.
This is just the game, as the console specific fields aren't disabled.
Account names? - you're not using an account name but rather the psn or xboxlive info. The PC is not connected
All other? - voice chat will replace text entry

If they are including a console specific UI feature that allows an in-game keyboard to appear to enter text it would be nice to have that confirmed if we need to use a peripheral that would be good to know as well. FYI if you are transferring your PC account it is going to be 'connected' to your console account check out your ZOS account there is a new tab to sync your PC account to a console account.
If they have a UI change for console that is going to allow us to communicate with the entire zone instead of type chat again it would be helpful to know what that is going to be. My post was to identify some issues that arise in my mind with the decision to remove type chat as a form of communication from the game. While I think voice chat alone is fine for most things (leaving aside the issue of disability access to the game which I think is an issue) in the game the things I've mentioned are areas that it makes sense to me that type chat be retained, whether that is by the more convenient keyboard that can be attached to a console as a peripheral or by way of an in-game keyboard doesn't matter but we should have something so that we can fully experience the game as intended and as it currently operates on PC.
@ZOS_JasonLeavey can you please provide some more information regarding the bombshell you dropped on Friday evening?
The only thing the keyboard can / will be used for on consoles is to enter text in certain fields, like naming guilds.
As I said before ZOS replied to me w/ misinformation:
One step forward, two steps back.

And that is supposed to tell me what, exactly? The entire blurb doesn't say anything at all except "you can't use it for chatting or gameplay.
I'm going off of what ZOS has said in this thread already, which may also turn out to be misinformation in the end. Who knows.ZOS_JasonLeavey wrote: »keyboard support for chat is not something that will be available for the console version of the game. But it's nice that they updated the FAQ AFTER their faux pas and @MissBizz had to bring it to their attention to do so, I guess.
I mean, it's updated on the exact same date and everything.

Just looking at the careful language (keeping us in the dark)
Playstation has never forced segregation, that is a design choice. I think FF14 has faster combat than ESO if you count key presses per hour.PKMN12 wrote:
It is not up to the MMO devs whether the Servers are seperate a lot of the time. PArt if it comes from balance, in a lot of games, using a Keyboard and mouse gives you an automatically, superior advantage to someone who is using a controller. Also, it is up to the console devs whether they want to allow cross platform servers. Most of the time, the answer is no, because it means sharing with a competitior.
FF14 got away with it cause the combat is much slower then other MMOs and it is ONLY on the PS3/PS4 and PC, never going to go on the xbox one.
