Considering the depreciating value of CP boosts after a while, XP pots are the only way to feasibly grind out 3600 points--without being unemployed, jacked on red bull and wearing diapers.

I see no problem, though I'd rather they reduce the XP needed for each CP instead.

The diminished return is not as strong as it should be otherwise I would agree with you. There are also plenty of different areas to spec all those points that would yield significant power. While 1.6 was on PTS, the difference showcased was night and day between 70cp, 360cp, 1200cp and so forth. It was most certainly noticeable which isn't necessarily bad for a progression system that goes but it would need to go unaffected by cash shop items. It would lead to a large power gap that was not earned in it's entirety but rather it was paid for.

A lot of people will utilize these as the convenience items that they are targeted to be however you will always have the whales that will play with these as a mainstay buff 8+ hours a day until they reach 3600cp or whatever the cap is at the time. I can think of a few off the top of my head already.

I'll add one more useful tidbit

A lot of you who claim nobody has the time or money are seemingly unaware that the number of professional and semiprofessional gamers has skyrocketed over the past few years. There isn't even a need for tournament level skills anymore. All you need is a popular YouTube video.

I imagine, like other games, these will be available in game by chance/chests/rewards
Not all other games are like that, LoTRO now has many 'store exclusives' some of which are more P2W than those being discussed here could ever be called.

As A long term player of LotRO I find the LotRO store to be:
    a) A lot less P2W than ESO.
    b) Less costly than ESO.
    c) Have far more non-P2W stuff than ESO.
    d) And the ability to earn TP in-game (without spending real cash) makes it a lot less gouging of the players.

In fact, in all the MMORPGs I have played with an in-game store the LotRO Model is the only one I have so far found acceptable and reasonable.

I actually don't have a problem with them selling VR14 templates. Because then all they need to do is create campaigns and leaderboards separated by champion rank or have a campaign just for the templates. (Though that latter case is essentially paying for another game mode.) Drop them without gear, minimal skill points, and about 90 champion rank and I'd be perfectly fine with that.
I realize I'm in the minority here. But if the playing field is more or less level, I don't see a problem with it. It's the selling of advantage I find reprehensible.
