I would love small scale pvp

i dont think we need rankings, the games balance is kinda of a joke. but if we had smaller scale instanced battlegrounds where we had more action and at a faster pace, less running into a stealthed zerg /horse simulator.
its a horrible example but theres been quite a few times where i thought of bettlegrounds from past games and just wished i could play those maps with eso characters and combat.

The way the game works now is , you are phased into a zone on the megaserver... right?
Why not have an open pvp phase that players can switch to . . . same game, same server . . . you just /phase pvpmode
and BOOM everyone who wants to play on pvp side can do so.
and
Everyone who cries on the forums out against pvp ever being a part of the game in any fun way can /noobmode themselves and it would be like they never existed.

Interesting solution but some people would still rant about it, its human nature and the nature of the wilderness of opinions, no one can agree completely on everything lol

You don't want anything added right now that will take away from Cyrodiil. All that will do is cause them to collapse more campaigns when you got only 1 bar for each faction playing in Cyrodiil.

It seems to me that people who are against pvp in any form simply do not want pvp in the game because they know that one of their friends would completely wreck them and they can't take a little virtual hand to hand combat.
For me whenever you play a game you always tested your character to see how it stacks up against other characters in combat, if you can 2shot someone you know that person needs to fix something. . . if you get two shotted you go and fix something to change that.
PvP gives incentive to players to improve/keep playing, if there is no incentive people will eventually grow tired of facerolling NPCS and quit.

That said if its possible to pull it off I'd love to see some rated arena pvp type thing. After all thats how you get to be an eSport and get more streamers playing it seriously... sure it brings in a hardcore crowd, though I've already seen people seriously min-maxing and that hasnt affected the game too badly I think. You still apparently need certain roles and specific builds end game to survive, but thats just how it is. If you could stroll in and beat an end boss only wearing a kilt with a helm, healing staff and a dagger people would be crying about it being too easy, if you could beat it of course. If you dont you just get tossed out on your kilt... some people just dont understand fashion...

Lol, well I have to say am actually Scottish, and there is no way in hell that a typical scot would go into battle with a kilt and a staff, we would go in with a kilt and a claymore and roar at the boss before killing him.
Just saying...
Other points you raised are fair enough:}

I'm aware of highland combat, I figured going full highlander with a 2 handed sword would be too logical... and obviously the boss would just run away screaming if it could which wouldnt help my point... if I had one...

Seriously, how many people who are big enough PvP fans that they'd make ample use of arenas are at the same time not big enough PvP fans to step foot in Cyrodiil at all? If these people exist, I highly doubt they're anything but a tiny niche of the population.
