You probably already know this, but Nirnhoned only naturally drop from completing the questline in Craglorn.

The Barbaric and Primal motifs only drop in vet zones, and the Daedric and Ancient Elf motifs only drop in vet 6+ zones. (I'm not sure if either group drops in Craglorn or just Cadwell zones.)

No I did not know this. I know that some folks have said that the Imperial motif book only drops in Vet areas; but the one I got was from a cabinet in the Rosy Lion in Daggerfall (starter zone DC). Saw it recently in a guild store for something like 10k <choke, gasp>.

10k? That's extremely cheap for the Imperial motif.

It drops in all zones, FYI. I found two in non-vet zones.

Global Kuta drop rate as of the 1.6 nerf was 1.8%. I'd have to adjust that to roughly 2% as of 1.6.2. And Aspect Nodes are the worst possible way to get Kuta, a whopping 1.4%. The best is the Enchanting Coffer via Writs but even still that's only 1.8-2.3%.

Mind you, with the boost to refinement, the 5 ore becomes more valuable than it was before. If you're one of the people with 8 characters, each with hirelings, then the raw materials that you get are probably worth it all on their own. Sure, you don't get a ton of them (you can get more by going out and harvesting them), but it's extra that you don't have to spend any time or effort searching for.

I get the need for the change. I mean, it sucks that the only reason to have hirelings is basically for the gold mats because once you've played a while you have tons of purple, blue and green. So the only reason I've leveled up crafting and spent those points is becoming less important.

Also, some might not feel sorry for those with alts that get multiple mails and I can understand that. But I have alts that I actually all play, I craft gear for all my guys (up to gold usually) so it's not like I have 8 guys feeding one character for goods, I have 8 guys receiving stuff for use by 8 guys.

But I do get the desire to have players be more active in the world, either gathering or doing writs and not just sitting there getting mails for everything. Hopefully hirelings will still be worthwhile at least, if so I'm sure I can keep up with a little gathering run here or there.

You and me both. Well, except that I've got 16 alts that I play, and I usually only craft blue gear for them... So I have 16 guys (and gals) receiving stuff for use by 16 guys (and gals) as well as for some other players I sometimes craft stuff for.

Has there been a decrease in deconstruction, as well? Otherwise, this is actually a very silly decision.

Please give me my hireling skill points back as I simply do NOT need all the other garbage they bring - I can get that from deconstructing everything I find. I can read their "stories" online.

They are absolutely worthless to me now.

As of 1.6.2 (most of the bulk was Refined in 1.6.1 while EU had it) we're seeing just north of 5% Refine rate of Legendary Tempers. Some argue that's a big increase and they use a single Reddit thread of 20K Refined mats showing a 2.67% drop rate from December or Jan. I Refine stacks/day and can honestly say that 5% is pretty much the same as Live right now. If anything, it's not the "significant increase" that ZoS said it is.
