My next suggestion is a custom costume, and this is how I imagine it could work. You buy an item called costume imprint. Then you equip the items you want for your costume, dye them in the color you want and then right click the costume imprint item and click imprint. A text box appears warning you that this is a one time use only and asks if you are sure you want to imprint this look. You can decline or accept. If you accept you can name your new costume. I would love if this could be then sold to other players but I guess that may be a bit too much to ask for.
This way we can actually look the way we want instead of having to deal with preset costumes or armor that we don't really like. I personally like all the lower tier armor models much more than the highest tier looking armors, but I am stuck with them since there is no real appearance tab in the game. The dye system makes it bearable though and is a great addition to the game. Of course I would rather have an appearance tab or something like Transmogrification in WoW. But we all know we are stuck with the limited costume option in this game for now. I had a look I adored when I was around lvl 20-30 and I so miss being able to use that look in the game.
I would like to see outfits and mounts like this:
for travel and hunt in the wilderness (adding spear skill line in future patches or DLC would be nice too)
and something like this:
for visiting towns
Also "re-customization" ticket would be handy.
Inflation by definition is the increase in currency his is a design of the games. This would exist if there were gold seller or not. The problem is you make certain assumption which don't whole true in reality or in game. You hold that supply is fixed and it is not. You assume most people who buy from auction house/guild store use gold seller bought money. Neither of us have this data so that can't be assumed either. If I can pick my assumption I can prove anything the problem is none of these hold true.
If price go higher supply will increase player will respond to economic force in game. This means supply will increase regardless. Second Gold Seller are like real world governments they can't just print money. They actually have to generate it threw some means which gain falls back to the economic design of the game. I would argue to generate the amounts of the money they sell or to have a meaningful effect on the economy. They would have to play be a part of the economic market which means they would be increasing the supply available. This could be through actually taking part of the market or buying gold from players who are taking part in the market. This would again lead to at least partially counting balancing what inflationary effect they have.
Yes you are right economy theory is about the social analysis of rational behavior. Again you are lacking deeper understanding the most economy drivers are circular. You are right on the surface that people will grind more gold to buy the cash shop items. This is true if the only way they generate gold is by mob dropping gold or gold from quest. If this is the case it goes back to poor game design. This doesn't take into effect that people to generate this gold will get in the market. This again will cause supply to increase which in turn will help counter balance your inflationary claims. Also your assumption is that players doing this will only be spending goal on guild store items. They won't be using this gold on existing money sinks. The fact that guild store and auction house items luxury items this would imply they would be secondary purchases. The real problem is with out actual data both of are arguments are based on just theory.
The basic point still hold MMO economies are designed to fall apart by the nature of the game. In fact it's poor design that cause economic forces to create gold sellers. It wasn't gold sellers who destroyed game economies but bad game economies that created them. Gold seller were the result of a portion of the community being priced out of the market.
In fact ESO is a prime example of this. They addressed the inflationary problem they way the gaming community demands. They put in huge money sinks and low gold generation. This isn't the answer either because this is the market situation that creates gold selling. The real answer is to understand that economies are fluid and need to be completely fluid. Mob drops and merchant cost need to be product of the gold supply in game if you want a true balance.

Also no, if price go higher, supply not always increases, not in MMO. That's why i say you're by the book student. Merchants in most MMOs are mostly players that sells things they found, without grinding for it, and the rarer the items the less merchants sell it, although the is higher. This is mainly caused by the nature of RNG, and the amount of costs in times and efforts the merchant need to spend getting that items.
The increase in supply is only fully true for resellable cash shop items, because the nature of resellable cash shop items that doesn't really needs in-game effort and grinding to get. You can easily see this difference on games where both gold seller and resellable cash shop items exist. By comparing the difference in supply between resellable cash shop items and items that can only stocked by in-game mobs grinding, the number of supplies are significantly higher on the resellable cash shop items of the high prices.
Actually, the gold sink on ESO right won't be enough to counter the behaviour side effect caused by resellable cash shop items, not to mention gold seller. I can generate 40k-50k gold a day through few hours of solo grinding, with all the costs from gold sink already covered. But, i rarely do it because there's no reason to. Resellable cash shop items will without a doubt give me reason. Gold seller on the other hand, they play to sell gold, they really don't value playing the game itself other than generating golds to be sold on RMT. As such, i can see they can get hundreds of thousands of golds daily, not to mention when they play it on groups and/or using bots, cutting the cost from gold sink significantly.
It's really not me that's by the book. I actually see things more in-depth and through various different perspectives. The fact that you thought all merchants will add more supply with higher demands indefinitely, is showing how shallow the depth of your analysis was :P
