Why not implement the ability to make custom emotes?? That way when I want to ask someone in game who doesn't have a mic on if they want to run Fungal Grotto or whatever, I can just type up a custom emote that says it! That would be cool.
Or you know just general things, like when you are in a crafting location and EVERYONE is trying to sell stuff over the mic and it feels like you are in the NY Stock Exchange, would be cool to be able to type out an emote that says you have Iron Ingots to sell or Selling Khajiit Motif for 300G that just pops up over our head. That way if someone sees it, and wants it, they know where you are and can just come over and offer to trade!
Any timeline on when grouping cross faction will be available?
You're point being? They're just pointing out how poorly designed ESO's social features are.mrskinskull wrote: »I have to laugh because only a few are actually console players, most are bored PC players with no stake in the out come, IMO.
I for one would love to see text chat in a companion app along with a few other functions such as inventory management and a map.

Yes and no. I mean like we have basic emotes like "Hello" and "Want to group?". It would be a nice compromise if pro text chatters could have the ability to create their own custom emotes with what they want to say instead of having a text chat window down in the bottom of the screen like the anti text chatters do not want. This way everyone wins! People can emote with a chat bubble above their heads for people to see, and we don't have to clog up the UI with a chat window.
Are you considering adding text chatting option to the console version of the game? To be curious, what was the reason of not putting it into the game from beginning even though all other mmorpgs have it?
@Gibboh You probably want the Technical Support section. This thread is for questions that they answer in their bi-weekly show on Twitch. How do i trigger the patch download? im on the xbox, EU server and i still havent got notified to download it.

Again that should be an afterthought Text Chat is a must not a companion app like you suggest.

There is no text chat being added save yourself the trouble of playing eso on console and go play dcuo like i'm probably going to do cause eso sucks balls on console

Here's a perfect example.
There's a few of these guys that are going to hem and haw and pretend to huff off over their pet issue, but they won't.
And the lions share of casual console players are already having an awesome time, they are the ones who my ACTUALLY wander off if they are being assaulted with cluttered ui.
Many people will argue ESO doesn't go far enough into standard mmo fare.
But in keeping things sleek and easy they have accomplished something no other game aside from GTA online have done,
They have regular joes playing an mmo.
They kept it sleek and easy to pick up.
I run into many people who played skyrim and picked up this game and NO its not exactly skyrim but who cares what gets people in the door as long as the uncomplicated interface and fun vocal community keeps them here?
